  1. With all due respect, your post is literally the only post saying anything remotely positive about the Gold Coast in this entire thread. If you enjoy roided body builders the likes of Stock Bar in Montreal like "Bruce" and friend(s) then knock yourself out. I stand by what I said, and echo what everyone else has said regarding the Gold Coast. I was there Saturday from 10pm - 2am and the Gold Coast was dreadful. It was not a fun welcoming place. Barely a dozen customers Obviously the nasty unattractive dancers have not been kicked out, let alone the ones with rotting teeth and massive scars on their stomach...and chunky. What's the deal with the ex-con scary looking thug dancers or short and fat stumpy ones? What kind of strip club has ZERO dancers on stage after 1am on a Saturday night the second week of Autumn? If you're not fascinated with "Bruce" and his body builder friend(s) then you're SOL. A strip club can't survive on one new body builder and his friend(s) of the week. Like many, I'm into skinny attractive twinks and there were none. Not to mention the other club that the Gold Coast is attached to named "SIN" was totally empty on a Saturday night as well. I'm not making this up!
  2. Tumbleweeds... and soon to be snow and ice.
  3. You should read the most recent posts on the other site. Appears many others have been agreeing with me for years regarding the breathtaking decline of Montreal's gay strip club scene. See for yourself thru their words..not mine!
  4. Looks more like a pimp than a Sugar Daddy.
  5. I think they should consolidate all the Montreal gay strip clubs into one central strip club like Stock. Then, everyone meets at Stock for their twinks, frat boys, and muscle studs rather than having the scene divided by the current four clubs. One central location, plus all the street hustlers.
  6. Unfortunately, not much has changed in the last 6 months. I just paid a visit to Gold Coast on Saturday night and as several others have already said....it was dreadful. $5 cover ....plus they force you to valet park. It was warm and very muggy/humid inside the club. There were less than 6 dancers on a Saturday night! Half of those "dancers" looked like escaped convicts, or short and chubby Michael Chiklis from the Commish types. I can't believe some of these guys thought to themselves "hey I would make a good stripper" when they look so unattractive. I too spent my coming-of-age- in metro-Detroit since I was 2-years-old. That's almost 43 years in the metro-Detroit area. I was very disappointed with my gay coming-of-age experience in metro-Detroit, and especially the current status quo of the gay scene. The new body builder "Bruce" was was busy non-stop in the back room up until closing, but he isn't remotely my type as I prefer skinny boyish twinks. Bruce would do very well at Stock if you're into the Stock type. I'm into the skinny emo twink boy type that is traditionally featured at Taboo. There literally were no other dancers after 1am on the stage. The stage was literally completely empty. Picture that in your head! Plus the music was so roaring load you couldn't have a conversation or barely understand each other. It's never a good sign when it's near closing time at 1:20am and you're so desperate you have to chase down a dancer who is sitting with his friends at the outside patio smoking/drinking and ask "are you still working" and beg for a dance. That was my first mistake!! Then I paid $10 to use the private booth instead of the $5 curtained booth. That was my second mistake!! Why am I paying $10 for a pvt booth when all he's doing his facing me letting me grab his ass? Lastly, why spend $20 for three dances which only last 2:30 minute each song for "Jake" the stripper to simply unbutton my shirt and basically hug me for 8 minutes while I feel his ass? His teeth looked like a meth addict and he had a giant scar on his belly. Very unattractive!! At the beginning Jake said "these are the rules "...which basically his only rule was I couldn't rim or finger him. It's a major turn off before you even start when a stripper is telling me what I can't do. Sounds like an experienced con artist. I've been to strip clubs for over 25-years and never has a stripper say anything like that. Usually I talk to them for 20 minutes before taking them to the back. I can't believe I was so desperate and lonely enough to spent $70 just to feel a strippers ass for 8 minutes!! Did I mention his teeth were rotting and he had a huge scar on his stomach. EwEwEw. And I spent $70 for this! Total and complete rip off. There's a reason it's been nearly 4 years since I last visited the Gold Coast. I don't think I will ever return in my lifetime. $70 down the drain... $70!!! I would have been happier buying $70 worth of Haagen Dazs.

  8. Sorry tyo hear there weren't a lot of guys, if any, dancing at Campus on a Saturday night. That's unfortunate. The last several times I visited Taboo on the weekend it was virtually empty as well. Xavitv apparently confirmed this. I doubt Adonis fared any better, as both Campus and Taboo were ghost towns. 3-out-of-4 strip clubs empty is pretty sad for a summer Saturday with "great" weather.
  9. One of my favorite places. They have two locations, and many hot twink waiters to serve you. Their filet mignon, lobster tails, and pina coladas are most excellent. However, the Keg has two locations a few minutes away from my house in Windsor, Ontario as well.
  10. Sorry to hear there weren't a lot of guys dancing at Taboo on a Saturday night. Some say it's like a ghost town.
  11. The OMNI is hands down my favorite hotel in the Golden Square Mile of downtown Montreal's business district. I always bring my old-school shower head and a wrench. I ask to stay in a corner room on the 21st floor (2102, 2115). Beautiful views, great A/C and strong shower pressure (when you bring your own shower head) in a very safe and comfortable area. I once stayed on the top floor ( 29 and 30) and the water pressure was abysmal. That's why I insist on 21st floor. Also, no issues with bringing "guests" to your room. The metro is 2 minutes away. I usually manage to get the "Premium" room at the OMNI on TripAdvisor for around $200 USD per night (which includes all the crazy 19% Canadian hotel taxes). Very good deal during the peak season May - October. Obviously the hotel is much cheaper off season. Plus, the 30% exchange rate helps too, and I always click thru EBATES to get additional cash back! Highly recommend the 4-star OMNI Mont Royal hotel in downtown Montreal.
  12. Glad you guys enjoyed yourself at Taboo. For me personally, I wouldn't spend all that time and energy arranging a trip just to see "Fred" the resident twink and his 6 friends from NATO. We have twice that many twinks at Detroit's Gold Coast every weekend. As for the available/vacancy on St. Denis and Mt. Royal, even 5th ave in NYC has occasional vacancies. To compare that to the zillions of ABANDONED and distressed properties in the Village is laughable. I can't believe you wrote that with a straight face (no pun). As you said, it's not the same as it was 10 years ago. I can only imagine how the breathtaking decline will be another 10 years from now. As to how the Village will change with the new developments....I'll take a "G" Pat.... and I would like to solve the puzzle Vanna....GENTRIFICATION.
  13. Did you ever reply to my thread about refunding people who go to the Village on the basis of rose-colored advice that it's a twink/stripper heaven when it's nothing more than homeless and junkies? Hotel and air fare is very expensive these days. I wouldn't want to have innocent people misled.
  14. I guess I'm not the only one who's not wearing rose-colored glasses?

Drug addicts, alcoholics, thieves and prostitution We had diner at some local nice over priced pizzeria at the corner of Amherst Street. We went there and enjoyed a couple of drinks at some Sky Bar and Club We spent like a couple of 4 hours there, but boy we were bothered by some drug sellers close and around Beaudry area, and then around some street by St. Andre and the Uqam Area where our Hotel was located. The balls on our heads are colourful enough paving the street for beggars and street junkies possibly on crystal meth. I don't know what kind of a city Montreal is tolerating such garbage and "unsafe" situations. I mean the junkies are practically comfortable coming up to us and begging for money and there was no police in site. We just ignored such harasments and walkedaway. It bothered me personally. No the kind of thing you see in other cities and similar gay villages. This area lacked class, and class ! Watch your pockets, thieves are around our friend's phone was stolen that evening. There are no shops. Even though we were there after 18:00 there were plenty of empty shops collecting dust and a couple of closed buildings !! 2 decrepit buildings falling apart or condemned !!! Plenty of Terraces on the street but kind of ordinary. We stopped at "Renard" a bar, but was packed and small. We peaked at "L'aigle noir" (dark and smelly) and a karaoke Joint by the name of Club Date. We had great fun there at the Club Date. BUT... From the looks of it overall, this area caters for the granola degenerate kind of people and quite openly caters to drug addicts and dealers, alcoholics, beggars and male prostitution (it is obvious all around you especially in some dead areas along this street) Avoid contact with stranger trying to be nice to you, because at the end of it all they want is money. If this is your attraction then you're in sin city with junkies and plenty of them around. It seems like a social welfare state this area. One visit to the gay village and it was a complete turn off. I'm no snob, but this Gay Village is cheap and lacks a lot and I mean a lot of class. Montreal has a lot more to offer - forget the gay village it is not worth the money. We enjoyed the rest of Montreal (We went to the Notre Dame Basilica, the Crescent Street had an nice irish pub, friendly people, the west side of town had more class. There's the mount royal visit was amazing as well as Mount-Royal area and Westmount) Ask Johnlovejeans about Gay Village 6 Thank Johnlovejeans This review is the subjective opinion of a TripAdvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

This was for sure our worst experience in all of our travel to Canada. So many people were so far gone on some horrible drug. I looked up the street and saw three people gathered together doing drugs. Someone was foaming at the mouth. It was really scary and I couldn't wait to get back to my lodging in lock the door. https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g155032-d185138-r514405299-Gay_Village-Montreal_Quebec.html#

  19. You're not letting this go? I am not letting this go. You really are off your rocker. For the THIRD time, "average" reviews count toward the TRASH and the negative reviews at the bottom. You find it funny to round the "average" votes up for some reason, as you apparently love to toss them in with the minority"excellent" reviews" like the proper Queen that you appear to be. I'm not taking you to school for a fourth time.... Even by your math, 138/203 is horrible! That's a 30% negative. Do you think the Eiffel Tower or similar tourist attractions have such a high negative as 30% neg?? HaHAhaHAhAhAHaHa!! Keep wearing your rose colored glassed and drinking the Kool-Aid.
  20. Wow! You really are dumber than I thought. For the SECOND time: Reviews (197) Excellent 43 Very good 49 Average 23 Poor 9 Terrible 12 According to the facts I cited, the bottom line is 92 "very good/positive" compared to the 44 "average/poor/terrible" negative reviews are pretty BAD by anyone's standards. Apparently you've been smoking more weed than I had originally thought, as the "average" reviews count towards the bottom, never towards the top (very good/excellent). Some words in those reviews that keep recurring are: "dump," "neglected," "abandoned," "junkies," "homeless," and "dirty". Don't take my word for it, read the reviews from UNBIASED people. Again, for the SECOND time, according to your logic if the reviews from UNBIASED people had been positive, then that somehow would make me "happy"? But since a significant portion of the reviews (that I did not write) are negative, that means I must be somehow "mad at the Village? HaHa such drama queen stupidity. Apparently you have ZERO facts to back up any of YOUR ridiculous statements, especially the one that "MOST" people are evidently VERY HAPPY with the district!!!! Again ,for the SECOND time, one of many reviews: *** Reviewed June 10, 2018 via mobile Avoid at all costs We came for for Formula 1 and stayed nearby so had to walk the street every day. It has to be the most depressing place I have ever been to. Homeless people begging for money, junkies - young people and very old ladies of the night except it was day time. I did not dare step out of my door after dark. The shops were run down and like the whole place - depressing. Glad I am leaving in the morning Show less Ask Karen C about Gay Village *** Keep sippin' that Kool-Aid! And please, take your medication.
  21. Therapy sessions? The MAJORITY of the reviewers agree with me and Bearman. Fortunately, We're not Montreal polyannas wearing rose-colored glassed. Don't blame the messenger for the collapse of your beloved Montreal strip scene. Just read UN-BIASED reviews online. Yes, it's time to take stock (no pun) in the majority of unbiased (non stock management) opinions of the reviewers online! I CERTAINLY DIDN'T WRITE THEM! Enjoy your "eclectic" (aka - ghost town) visit to Montreal's gay village. I'm sure Tazmanian5230 , EZ , BigVaBoy , and PGren will be lining up to offer you a full refund on all your hotel and airline expenses once you realize there are more homeless and crack heads than strippers. Keep drinking the Kool-Aid.
