Recently on W. 72d St. I went for a pedicure advertised outside the place as $56 including a 20 minute massage. I got my shoes off and put them in the empty foot bin when the person assigned to me brought over a menu of (higher) prices. I said I wanted the advertised massage and price. She actually denied that such an ad was out front. So socks came back on as she came down in price but I thought her lying finished my interest. Interestingly enough, a Black man came in wanting either a pedicure or a manicure and they turned him down. Not enough staff, they said, despite my freeing up one of them. I followed the Black man outside to see that he has a car and driver awaiting him. I wonder how they happened to pick that place.

My friend last posted on October 14th, 2014, so ten years now. Jackhammer91406 started a thread called Friday Funnies, later saying: I started this thread 4 years ago after I was diagnosed with Leukemia. I really felt like I wanted to concentrate on things that made me laugh and feel good. I never dreamed the thread would go on this long or have nearly 40,000 views. *** Well, now it's got a lot more views and does indeed serve as a memorial to one of our finest members. RIP indeed.

Why did they change the name of the town featured in the play?

The new production is not nearly as good. It’s almost a completely different show.

This production is not the traditional Our Town. I saw that with Spalding Grey as the narrator many years ago and was mesmerized despite sitting high in the balcony.. My seat was much better, but this production left me cold. It caught none of the emotions that Thornton Wilder elicits when produced traditionally. Yes, I got sleepy. Jim Parsons as narrator just seemed in a hurry to get the show over with.

There are law enforcement statistics that show that 75% of sexual aggressors are male on female. That stat was presented to me years ago, but I see no evidence that it has changed.

Today I got my flu shot and then went to the doctor, where he gave me a second installment of the pneumonia vaccine. I asked about the RSV show, and he said I got it last year, with booster due next year. I was surprised. The best news was that for the first time in years my weight is under 200 lbs. That had ramifications on the blood sugar and the cholesterol.

I found Detroit to be surprisingly fun. The crowds at Comerica Park are wild. Downtown Detroit has been cleaned up and has an urban feel that does not overwhelm. So many buildings torn down, but many old ones still standing and looking classic after refurbishment. I liked the People Mover too! The Courtyard by Marriott Downtown has absolutely the finest hotel staff of any hotel I have visited. So helpful and friendly. I didn't bother looking for gay life, just as I didn't when I lived there. Of course, then I was only 5 years old!

I guess that I should be embarrassed to say that I had never heard of RSV and still don't know why I need a vaccine against it.
