There are some amazing guys on IG, who have actually approached me. The conversation takes a very predictable path - almost as though they are reading from the same script. First they follow me, and when I follow back, they message and, ask if I'm gay, and then ask "Tell me about yourself." After a few minutes they ask if I can help them out. That's when they ask for the cash. The first time it happened, I was taken aback. Now I think it's fun. It amazes me though that they want to paid for ten minutes of flirting and dirty talk. it occurred to me the other day that they might all be bots.

Agreed. But it should be restarted in a smart way, without gangs of armed militia, fudging or suppression of public health data, and full recognition of the fact that coronavirus is a profoundly infectious agent and that being stupid about things will only put the nation back into lockdown.

That may be true, but 100,000 deaths is 100,000 deaths. Within the space of a few weeks, anyone would agree that that is a singular event.

It can run as long as the virus can find hosts to infect. There are more than a few professionals who think this will be an "event" several years in duration. You just said upthread that the pandemic is likely to be recurring. And you're in good company. Many public health professionals think so too.

If you stick with it for even a couple weeks it will start to feel a lot better- 3 or 4 times a week.

Just wait. In mid-March, Alabamans were pretty smug about their numbers and the fact that what was good for large urban centers lie NYC wasn't applicable to Alabamans. Now, Alabama is a hot spot.
