I need to take my own advice. Since bread has started costing 8.00-9.00/loaf, I have been baking bread. I have learned to make a killer loaf of white sandwich bread. We can't leave it alone.

If you eat out a lot, fish and salad are your friends. Skip bread and dessert.

I don’t have any desire to eat more calories than I need. I wasn’t always this way. I have to be mindful about food choices and hydration- those parts require some focus.

It's a jungle out there. Almost any stranger who hits you up on social media is suspect.

On IG, I get occasional DM's from an incredibly handsome Arab who tells me he's the Crown Prince of Dubai. There actually is such a person, but I doubt that he would be sending DM's to random men on social media.

They always want to move the chat to google chat or whatsapp.

A while back - I had a gorgeous young doctor from Dallas whose partner had dumped him and left him with tens of thousands in credit card debt.

A while back, I encountered a version of the oil rig. Incredibly sexy German, he was an "engineer" and had taken a job on an oil rig, the job turned out to be a dissappointment and he needed money to buy out his contract.

Yes!! Amazing-looking guys - they are all recent immigrants, and they have a design firm and they manage their investments on the side.

I was thinking the same thing. Grizzled ass? 48?

Age shaving and other minor (or major) deceits are just a feature of the sexual marketplace,, whether you are talking about sex workers or civilians. I once went home with a guy and he lived in a dinky studio apartment. He told me "this is just my 'other' apartment, I actually live at 'x'" and gave me the name of a prestigious apartment complex. Even as young and naive as I was then, i thought "yea, right." I don't really mind if somebody shaves a few years off their age - to me, it's a harmless white lie.

I don't know why, but that's always my experience. If a guy asked me for payment upfront, I would be happy to pay him. But nobody ever asks - so it is sort of like a geisha experience.
-
Well sure. But there's a big difference between discretely leaving some cash on a table and presenting your bounce-back coupon to be punched.

I had a cysto as a young boy with an old-fashioned scope but they put me to sleep for it. I didn't mind it because that was back when they got you very loaded on pre-op meds before any kind of procedure. As an adult, I have had two, a conventional one that hurt like hell and the one that didn't hurt a bit. Still, I hope I don't have to have another one.

A year ago, I stayed at the Fairmont in Dallas. On Sunday, they had no housekeeping, nor food service of any kind, except for crap from the gift store.

Several months ago, I read an article about the hotel industry. The author posited that raising rates and cutting back on guest services to recover from the hit they took in the pandemic was going to bite them in the ass. Maybe so.

This. I think the best providers are good at downplaying the transactional side of the relationship.

That's actually not a total suprise - San Francisco is usally mobbed with tourists at this time of year. Just the other day, I was thinking "Where are all the tourists?"
-
Mostly not. There have been a couple situations. My spine surgeon is a tall, handsome triathlete and he has a big personality that just envelopes you. So I like seeing him - it's like sitting down to chat with an old friend that I haven't seen in a long time. One time I had a cystoscopy. The uro who did the procedure had a technique that was nearly pain-free. I didn't get hard, but having that scope snaking around inside of me was very erotic. It was over way too soon.

Why is average Life Expectancy declining in United States ?
Rudynate replied to SouthOfTheBorder's topic in The Lounge
This. I think the US is in the grip of a mass psychosis that began with 9/11. -

I was thinking more along these lines. -

I don't know if there is a way of quantifying the general level of stupidity but, if it could be quantified, I'm positive it would be inversely correlated to decreasing life expectancy. -
longer appointments for first time meetings
Rudynate replied to starman05's topic in Questions About Hiring
I always book for two hours - I've tried longer and shorter and found that 2 hours is just right - even for a first meeting. If I'm not comfortable with his response on first contact, I don't follow through. I have only had a couple experiences that I could have done without. One was a chemistry thing and the other, the provider seemed badly broken and I was very uncomfortable around him. -
Coverage for prescription drugs is so weird. I take Wixela, which is the same thing as Advair. My copay for the Wixela is 30.00 for 90 days.
