  1. Well sure. But there's a big difference between discretely leaving some cash on a table and presenting your bounce-back coupon to be punched.
  2. I had a cysto as a young boy with an old-fashioned scope but they put me to sleep for it. I didn't mind it because that was back when they got you very loaded on pre-op meds before any kind of procedure. As an adult, I have had two, a conventional one that hurt like hell and the one that didn't hurt a bit. Still, I hope I don't have to have another one.
  3. A year ago, I stayed at the Fairmont in Dallas. On Sunday, they had no housekeeping, nor food service of any kind, except for crap from the gift store.
  4. Several months ago, I read an article about the hotel industry. The author posited that raising rates and cutting back on guest services to recover from the hit they took in the pandemic was going to bite them in the ass. Maybe so.
  5. This. I think the best providers are good at downplaying the transactional side of the relationship.
  6. That's actually not a total suprise - San Francisco is usally mobbed with tourists at this time of year. Just the other day, I was thinking "Where are all the tourists?"
  7. Mostly not. There have been a couple situations. My spine surgeon is a tall, handsome triathlete and he has a big personality that just envelopes you. So I like seeing him - it's like sitting down to chat with an old friend that I haven't seen in a long time. One time I had a cystoscopy. The uro who did the procedure had a technique that was nearly pain-free. I didn't get hard, but having that scope snaking around inside of me was very erotic. It was over way too soon.
  8. This. I think the US is in the grip of a mass psychosis that began with 9/11.
  9. I was thinking more along these lines.
  10. I don't know if there is a way of quantifying the general level of stupidity but, if it could be quantified, I'm positive it would be inversely correlated to decreasing life expectancy.
  11. I always book for two hours - I've tried longer and shorter and found that 2 hours is just right - even for a first meeting. If I'm not comfortable with his response on first contact, I don't follow through. I have only had a couple experiences that I could have done without. One was a chemistry thing and the other, the provider seemed badly broken and I was very uncomfortable around him.
  12. Coverage for prescription drugs is so weird. I take Wixela, which is the same thing as Advair. My copay for the Wixela is 30.00 for 90 days.
  13. Kaiser’s Medicare Advantage Plan is supposed to be one of the best there is.
  14. Yes- big time.
  15. True but you would want to see a doctor who doesn’t hate you for who you are.
  16. If you are in the donut hole, your cost goes up. When you get to the other side of the hole, your cost goes way down because you are getting catastrophic coverage. Some drugs, I don't even have a co-pay for. Others cost a bundle. I use Spiriva - another one that is chokingly expensive- I think my copy for 90 days is around 300.00 - another one I get from India.
  17. I haven't tried it yet, but people are using ChatGPT to create recipes. There's a sexy guy on youtube ("the perfect loaf") who knows everyting there is to know about sourdough bread. He had chatGPT create a sourdough recipe. He said it was pretty good, but not great.
  18. It is not the same. The only way to contain second-hand smoke it to isolate smokers. A side effect of isolating smokers is that they have been stigmatized. But that's not such a bad thing, For decades and decades, non-smkers were required to share movie theaters, stores, offices, workplaces, classrooms, waiting rooms, etc. with smokers, who were allowed to light up anywhere anytime they wanted to with total abandon.
  19. You should look into getting from India through IndiaMART - Indian Manufacturers Suppliers Exporters Directory, India Exporter Manufacturer WWW.INDIAMART.COM IndiaMART.com is India's largest online marketplace that assists manufacturers, suppliers & exporters to trade with each other at a common, reliable & transparent platform... I use one of the novel oral anticoagulants (NOAC) that are chokingly expensive - my copay for a 90-day supply is $200.00. The last quarter of the year, because of the donut hole, it costs me $400.00 for 90 days. The full OOP cost is over 600.00/mo. I got a year's supply from India from $300.00.
  20. Well thank you!! I would love to.
  21. When I was 21 I moved to Denver at an elevation of 5280 feet (the Mile-High City). I couldn't understand why I was so tired for the first few weeks I lived there. Somebody clued me in that my body had't yet adjusted to the altitude.
  22. Daddies into cigars tend to like big fat cigars with a high ring guage.
  23. I like a cigar from time to time. Gave up cigarettes long ago.
  24. I have visited NM quite a few times. Always ready for another visit- great place. I can’t say much about the gay scene, but one thing I noticed in Santa Fe was how easily gays and straights mixed.
  25. Agree - different experiences entirely. If I want a professional, therapeutic massage, I go to a spa. Otherwise, I hire somebody from Rentmasseur. Even with a guy from Rentmasseur, I'm not looking for frankly erotic, but I like a well-built guy with little to no clothing and no draping.
