  1. I'm headed down to FLL from June 5-14th. I'm absolutely ready for a break!
  2. Should I setup a new 4m website? (sorry the pun was too easy…)
  3. In looking at the logs, I don't see a high number of database restarts happening anymore. So it looks like things have gotten better, but just checking to confirm.
  4. Gotta love fickle browsers!! I’m glad you were able to get it squared away!
  5. That would explain it. The open source editor Invision uses tries to prevent wrapping because it takes even more real estate away from replying and from the stuff users are reading. Making the window bigger would indeed make more options appear.
  6. It would depend on when the followers were added. I’m working on a bug where some recent posts did not show up properly also.
  7. Can you post a screenshot of what your reply window looks like?
  8. Are you browsing from your phone or from a laptop/desktop?
  9. I don’t believe Followers came over unfortunately. I did not even think to test it in the initial beta site honestly. But in checking mine, it looks like it did not carry over.
  10. I can most likely figure out a way to take away the ability to use big/small fonts, but ultimately if someone is abusing the capability… the moderating team can and will take action. Initially it will be a gentle nudge in the right direction, growing to formal warnings which if/when enough warning points accrue results in posts being automatically queued for moderator approval and finally in temporary suspension.
  11. 90 percent of accounts marked banned were spam registrations. In Xenforo, the only action to take with those accounts were to ban them. With IPB, there is a special spam status so it’s less relevant today. We occasionally have people ask to disable their accounts. In order to prevent a loss of post history, today moderators will ban those accounts and set an internal note about why so if they ever come back we can just remove the ban. (That has actually happened before too…) Finally there have also been a few select individuals who have had their accounts banned for violating our community rules over the years. You can most likely guess who some of those accounts are and the reasons why so I won’t rehash the history here. Regarding the RIP status, I don’t ever anticipate ever seeing those accounts actually signed in. In fact, RIP status in terms of permissions is essentially the same as banned. (They can’t see/do anything.) I just wanted to honor the legacy of those individuals by not being lumped into the same status as spammers, rule breakers, or those who have left the site. I can set the RIP group to be excluded from the group filters, but in the end I left it more as a safety check. If I see those accounts online, even if they can’t see/do anything, I know the account is most likely compromised.
  12. Several people have reached out asking where they can send physical mail. If you want to send cash, gift cards, checks, money orders, etc... you may send it to: RadioRob Enterprises 5834 C. North Kings Hwy #4343 Alexandria, VA 22303
  13. This is known as "Ignoring" a member, and yes it's possible. Hover over their username, and click the button on Ignore User. Once you click on it, you need to choose what you want to ignore from the user.
  14. Strikethrough is still available. This is an example. You can't use old legacy BBcode anymore. Those are the ones that are wrapped in [ ]'s. The editor shows strikethrough as an available option in the menu when you are using a laptop/desktop/tablet. If you are using a mobile device, strikethrough does not show up by default. I can add it, but we would have to remove something else displayed instead to make room. Regarding Images, they must contain HTTPS not HTTP. The reason for this is because if you embed a not-secure image, it would cause users who browse the page to get a security warning because some items are secure and some are not. Daddy's site does not make use of SSL (meaning HTTPS). To improve our security, I am using a full user-to-browser encryption. This is the same type of security used to secure the communication between you and your bank.
  15. I'm doing a few things here that might be causing this: a) I'm displaying more post per page. So that you don't have to click next so much on pages, I'm displaying 30 replies per page versus 15-20. b) Using a full rich editor. You'll notice more capabilities around using emoji, GIFY, attachments, stock images, etc. Loading the framework to let your browser takes a little bit more resources on your computer to take advantage of it.
  16. Notifications can be configured at: https://www.companyofmen.org/notifications/options/ You can choose what you receive notifications for and if it's via the notification system or if it's via email. Notifications will work for anything generated through Invision. Meaning old notifications won't carry over, but as you get replies and send messages you'll start getting notifications for anything "new".
  17. The migration is complete. Some threads from the 2-3 days before the migration appear to be improperly linked to other threads from a prior conversion Daddy did when he moved from vBulletin to Xenforo. I'm working to see if I can manually fix this, but I'm not sure if it's going to be possible without a BUNCH of effort. (I'm still looking into it however.)
  18. It appears notifications only are occurring for when you’ve replied through Invision. So it will start working for new replies, comments, etc.
  19. While looking through the server logs, I see some errors related to "out of memory" status. With all of the normal traffic AND the backend tasks running, it looks like the mySQL database is running out of memory and restarting itself. When this happens, you'll at first see a connection refused (as the service is down), and within a few seconds it would go away once it comes back up. I've made some changes to memory management to try and hopefully reduce the frequency of this happening.
  20. Also... as a point of clarification, it is not possible to ignore Administrator or Moderator groups. All other groups SHOULD be able to be ignored. If this is not working, PM me who you're trying to ignore so I can test if I have to tweak a setting somewhere.
  21. One of the features I like about Invision is the ability to create custom Activity Streams. This allows you to find content that you're specifically interested in. https://www.companyofmen.org/discover/?do=create You can create a stream that shows content you have not read that only lists forums you pick, from various time frames. The Unread Content stream is just literally only selecting "Content I haven't read" as it's filter. So feel free to create a stream or two in order to help you curate content you're interested in. Regarding ignoring members... there is an option to ignore them, but you need to select all of the various ignore features. Make sure you're selecting Posts, Messages, Mentions, and Signature. If you do that, for the most part they should fail to exist to you. Hope that helps!
  22. Nice photo! It reminds me of how much I need a vacation. (Luckily I'm headed to Ft Lauderdale for my birthday in early June, so not too far away.)
  23. Any of the images on the home page can be easily swapped. If people dislike the default stock images, feel free to suggest one. In order to avoid copyright issues, find one using the “Insert Stock Photo” option under the Other Media button.
  24. There are a bunch of processes still running that are overwhelming the database. This should hopefully be cutting back soon.
  25. I have removed the restrictions around post editing times.
