For many years, I avoided hiring "pros' but sought out (on Craigslist and then Seeking) guys who were non-pros but who were looking for someone to help them out financially in exchange for sex.  I quickly learned to identify and avoid guys who were desperate for money for the reasons DMonDude describes - constant pestering for more to deal with a never-ending series of "surprise" financial catastrophes -- the phone bill, the rent, tuition, all of which were totally foreseeable to a responsible person.  I instead tried to meet up with guys with steady incomes that paid their basics but not much more.  A little discretionary income made their lives a lot more enjoyable, and I was happy to provide it.  
With Craigslist long gone and Seeking kind of a mess, I decided to avoid wading through 'gen' postings (or even worse, trying to guess who might be interested in a gen older man) on grindr and sniffies.  Now I just hire professionals off RM.  I have no complaints about the change, but I do miss those innocent (if that's the right word) young men I met in the old days.  

Depends, somehow I like the excitement of those places and it’s what you see is what you get. Although Boysclub21 in Amsterdam, Cityboys near Dusseldörf and Villa Giani in London are more convenient.

Sounds kind of hot but I refuse to go to anyplace & have anonymous sex with people that I can’t see what they look like. 

I hired a straight guy recently. Hot young muscular guy who can be in the college wrestling team.  He kissed willingly (he wasn't using his tongue), got hard, fucked, and came.  He was such a nice guy, and the only draw to this for him was the money.  It wasn't as mechanical as that because we were interacting throughout; and I find knowing more about the other person eases the tension and makes for a more human interaction.  (And sometimes I just want unbridled sex! 😈 lol!) I'm not saying I'm not weird for other reasons. But a guy I've played around with once loves being rimmed. He's used to being rimmed long and hard. He said he had never come across someone like me as regards rimming. 
 
As for me-I've never wanted to at all-not in the slightest. And while I don't watch porn a lot, when I did, if there was a long rimming scene, I'd fast forward thru it.
 
I do have to admit that I don't mind being rimmed. In fact sometimes it's felt really nice. But I don't ask for it because I figure it's not fair if I'm not willing to reciprocate.
