I think those who weren't raised around a predominantly Jewish community won't totally get this show. There I said it Seriously... It reminds me so much of the neighborhoods I grew up in (although I was an Irish catholic), it brings me a sense of comfort watching Maisel. I get the rhythms of the script. The line pickups in the show are just terrific. Sure, there's some stereotype at play, but it's done with so much love that I can't find fault with it. COVID played hell with this current season, leaving production to stay mostly in the NYC area. From a design perspective alone, the show is a brilliant snapshot from the past. The set design for the burlesque joint was incredible.

"The Gilded Age" on HBO
+ BenjaminNicholas replied to + poolboy48220's topic in TV and Streaming services
I mean, the show is garbage with a great budget, but it's entertaining garbage. Nowhere near the writing quality and acting prowess of Downton, but still watchable for sure. I'd reckon it's the largest cast of Broadway actors we've seen in one mainstream show. That's always fun. The scenes shot on-location are beautiful. If you're an architectural or design/decor nerd, this is a superb show. -
If you think the strategy will work, give it a shot. The worst thing that happens is you go back to announcements. No harm, no foul. In terms of which cities are going to be fruitful for you, I'd say look at the places where people are traveling to frequently for work. There are several cities where convention business is back in decent swing. There's also something to be said for a soft rebrand. Look at your website, socials, etc and see if you can tweak anything to make it pop, better understood and simply more engaging. Always remember that less is more. Keep it simple, clean and clear. I'm sorry you're dealing with all of this shit. It can run you ragged after awhile.

Isn't 400 dollars for a hour too much for New York standards?

I'd charge 20% more for being asked in a grammatically incorrect way. -
Have you ever lived in Chicago during the '80s?

I totally understand: You had a bad experience and it's colored the way you feel. You just got picked in the shit lottery... It happens and I'm sorry it did to you. Something made you look or sound like a target. Pinpoint, if you can, what that was and attempt to remedy it. Mexico is a fantastic place, but asserting your understanding of the language and culture is necessary (imo) to being comfortable. I still say get out there and keep exploring.

This is not the case. PV is no more or less 'dangerous' than Manhattan or Chicago. Use common sense, but don't be a stereotypical American tourist. If you're visiting MX, get out of the resort and actually see, talk with and mingle amongst local Mexicans. You might learn something. Perhaps even change your own perceptions.

Severance, Apple+

It's not a show for short attention spans. It's a slow burn, but a rewarding one. -
Thought-provoking, unnerving and original. Worth the watch, especially if you enjoy well-written dystopian storylines and good production values. https://www.rottentomatoes.com/tv/severance/s01

Brent is still a sexy little dude. He's one of the smart ones who takes care of himself and understands this remains a visual medium. And no, he won't be heading into the States anytime soon. That ship has sailed. People don't realize how easy it is to cross the wrong agency and get blacklisted. From that point on, it can take tens of thousands of dollars to get the right attorney to set things right. Most of those guys just never come back.

To Escorts: What's the Best Overnight Venue?

Don't you know that the calling card of the insecure is to find fault with everyone and everything else? -
If you expect social grace or simple manners on OF, you're barking up the wrong tree. That said, if the person is funneling some of their OF base into their escorting business, it's foolish for him to not shoot over a quick 'thanks' if tipped. Perhaps for this guy, you need to set the bar lower.

A lot of guys in video need to work on their listen to how straight I am script. Rule of thumb: One 'bro' per paragraph. Two 'dude' max, but three are allowed if used with an exclamation (ala Bill & Ted). One 'sup' and only as an intro line, never to be used again. If you've got a girlfriend on the side, you also get access to using the term 'nah' instead of 'no'

It's as if it's not there in black & white for everyone to see. Wake me when I'm being sentenced. -
Mexican PD shakedowns are much more common when driving through smaller places within the interior, but not so much in the standard touristy areas. They're smart enough to know not to kill the goose that laid the golden egg. As was told to me by friends who are nationals, have $100 in $20s available in the event you're pulled over and they confiscate your driver's license. It's a small price to pay to get your ID back and not spend any time in a Mexican jail.

Very true. Going to PV as a Dallasite means you're going to run into 30% of the gay population you already know. It makes things a little less interesting, to me. I also felt that way about Santa Fe, but since it's an older, more monied crowd, at least they were more interesting to sit around, have a cocktail and chat with.

Recipes that sound disgusting but ain't.
+ BenjaminNicholas replied to samhexum's topic in What's Cooking
Beer and tomato juice (add salt, pepper, worcestershire, fresh lime, hot sauce). Beer and bloody mary mix (in a pinch). Known as an Ojo Rojo, Chelada or a Michelada. Also known as a Mexican breakfast. If you've got Modelo Especial on draft, it's like heaven in a glass. -
Frankly, Mykonos is a shell of itself now anyway. It's not what is was. Not even close. The heyday of Pieros was a shit ton of fun Agreed about CDMX. It's an incredible city. Manhattan on steroids.

CADE MADDOX: "WORKIN' IT" ON RENTMEN
+ BenjaminNicholas replied to robberbaron4u's topic in The Deli
Ya'll do love beating a dead horse. He and his rate have been discussed dozens of times before. If he gets it, good on him. Clearly, he's not for everyone. But continue to work towards that dogpile. I'm sure it'll attract a lot more escorts here to the forum. -
Yes, Zona Romantica is super touristy. People who want to vacation amongst some actual culture just need to get on the bus and get out of the typical lilly-white areas. You're still in MX. Mismaloya is just down the road 20 minutes and it's as authentic as it gets.

Don't blame him. If someone bothered me when I was in the weight room, I wouldn't be talkative either.
