  1. Glad you enjoyed this. I have tickets for it in a couple of weeks. Mamet is a difficult playwright to do well. Actors get caught up in not doing his punctuation justice and if you've ever read one of Mamet's scripts, there's a TON of it. It's daunting. There's a slight sing-song banter to his work when it's done well. Watch the film version of Glengary Glen Ross to see what I mean. It's one of my favorite plays (and films).
  2. Everything I learned, I learned from McGruff The Crime Dog and Jessica Fletcher.
  3. I hope she proves me wrong and knocks it out of the park. I also hope that in the event she can't, they poach Shoshana Bean from Mr Saturday Night for the role. She was born to play Fanny.
  4. Let me get this straight. He stole from you and he gave a shitty massage, yet you invited him back for round two? Something doesn't pass the smell test on this one.
  5. I don't take much of anything The Daily Mail says seriously. It's trash journalism. And this particular story was grasping at straws.
  6. Dear God, no. Please no.
  7. The show had Streisand. Full stop. She was the show. Her voice. That charisma. And that she was hungry to become a star also helped. I just don't see Beanie transcending.
  8. I agree with everything you're saying here. Every. Single. Word. That said, let's pause for a moment and look closely at the makeup- and past behaviors- of this board. Guys like you are in shorter supply. Guys who anonymously come here to criticize are a dime-a-dozen. It's like cheap therapy for fellas who have social issues, a fragile ego and who take pedantry into performance art territory. Some do this regularly even when they haven't hired in years. I will say, it's entertaining as hell. All of it. This whole board. It's never boring There's a much larger contingent of clients out there who know nothing about this place, have enough disposable income to do as they please and treat their hires well. I very much appreciate those guys or any guy who, like you, who shows genuine respect to the gents he sees. Sorry for going so off-topic. Let's get back to butts...
  9. A little peek behind my curtain: You (minorly) invest in one hit Broadway show and you get a lot of industry gossip. Everyone and their mum wants to be a critic and thanks to message boards, they can be. I enjoy reading the professional opinion and the man-on-the-street. Creating an entire podcast to wax poetic about what I've seen might just ruin the fun of theatre for me. Plus, I'm lazy and it all sounds like a lot of work. You sir can call me Ben anytime
  10. Yikes. Two previews in and chat on the show is rough. Most of it centers around Beanie. Seems she can't sing well, hold key or deliver the book. I'm seeing it in mid-April. Hopeful they can sand the rough edges. That said, it wouldn't be the first time a show has fired their lead and someone has gotten the chance to 'become a star.' Sutton Foster did just that in Millie. I'm getting tired of Hollywood casting when it's totally inappropriate.
  11. Zsa Zsa only got three days in jail. She was driving with an open-container AND slapped a cop. ... This too shall pass.
  12. This show reminds me that not everything has to be Chaucer. Meaning, it's fun to insert some simple, low-function glitz now and then into your diet of television watching. Hell, I'm an admitted watcher of some of the Housewives series even. It satisfies a part of my brain that enjoys the simplicity of a campy villain, a prodigal good guy and watching wealthy people do absurd things. While I'd put Gilded above Housewives, they serve the same entertainment purpose for me.
  13. This looks stereotypical. Hard pass.
  14. And that he did it while traveling the world was what was most impressive. He chose hotels specifically for their internet connections. Always cable modems. I remember being with him one night when the internet went down at a Knightsbridge hotel and we quickly moved to a reliable connection in Earls Court so that he could make sure the site was updated.
  15. This is why YOU are on PrEP. Only you can guarantee your own health. It's Russian Roulette relying on someone else to be responsible for your sexual health.
  16. He might not have needed it, but he was incredibly savvy in making the site profitable from nearly the beginning. The costs associated with running the site back then were astronomical, mostly bandwidth related. The original M4M was a well-run business that made a tidy monthly profit.
  17. Well, as it seems you're not going to hire this guy, you need not worry. But thankfully... Lots of fish in the sea
  18. Massive? Based on the newer watchmakers out there, Rolex is now practically considered streamlined I was gifted a Tag as a travel watch, but it's so heavy and large, that I rarely wear it. I really dislike oversized watches.
  19. Cartier makes a beautiful watch, as does Hermes. One of my favorites is the classic Hermes Clipper. I own three Rolexes but they're so persnickety about keeping time and needing regular servicing, that they usually just stay in a safe and I forget about them. I'm not a huge Chanel person otherwise, but their J12 line of timepieces are beautiful and built like fucking tanks. I have two of them (a dive watch and a standard ceramic) and over the years they've taken a beating. They still look brand new.
  20. Spa Castle in College Point is always busy, not cruisey. Big difference.
  21. There are several existing threads here about a 2-1-1 PrEP schedule. Is it 100% anything? No. What is does do is require more thinking about when/where and how. Unlike the simplicity of one a day, with 2-1-1 you've got to keep up with a specific pill schedule. Some people can easily handle this, while others can't even follow a one-and-done without threat of missing doses. It's really about what works best for you. PrEP remains 99% effective against the transmission of HIV and reaches maximum protection at around 7 days after daily use.
  22. These you will see at an increasing number of shows in the future. The systems have gotten more efficient and it's now easy to keep your device with you- locked in the case- and have an usher quickly unlock at intermission and/or as you're exiting the theatre. If people can't be trusted to sit quietly for two hours, then these pouches are a necessary evil. I've had entirely too many Broadway and touring shows ruined due to asshole audience members who answer calls, send texts, take video/pics during the production.
  23. It's not really. Just in America. And from the sounds of it, they have a built in audience of men who will see it just for the nude scenes and have zero connection to the book otherwise.
  24. https://www.anythinggoesmusicalcinema.com/ Sutton Foster and the West End revival cast of Anything Goes will hit select movie theaters this weekend for showings. The filming was beautifully done, along the same quality as 42nd Street a few years back.
