  1. I think ?? this is the Canyon Club in Palm Spgs, one of the less-expensive clothing-optional lodging choices for the forum weekend....thanks to @Whitman for posting this picture he took of me at the last forum weekend :p

Yup, that's Canyon Club. I can't believe the forum weekend is only two months away!

  2. For future reference, Santiago has a more forgiving cancellation policy than Inndulge. 14-day cancellation on holidays (including Coachella) and 7 days otherwise. Something to think about for next year.

I know some people don't like Canyon Club, but their cancellation policy is even better. We only had to pay for the first night as a deposit, and it will be refunded to us (less a $15.00 cancellation fee) if we cancel no later than 72 hours before check-in.

Looking forward to seeing you all next year!

  3. Alas. Circumstances have conspired to compel me to cancel my jaunt to this year's gathering. :(

So just that mean's y'all must get up to XXXTRA nogood on my behalf!

I, too, am unlikely to make this year’s gathering. I’m in the midst of starting a new business.

You will both be missed! :( Hope to see you next year.

  4. #16 Bill's pizza. I love pizza and this place is pretty good and convenient. Also, there is a Shakey's not far, for those that grew up with Shakey's pizza and want to reminisce. Works for me.

I like both places, although Shakey's usually has a lot of families with kids, which I could do without :p but as long as we're talking restaurants, I highly recommend Brickworks. It's upstairs, overlooking Palm Canyon, where Matchbox used to be. We haven't tried their pizza yet, but their omelettes are fantastic. Great service too, very friendly, and they never seem to be too busy, even during peak brunch time on Sunday. A well-kept secret so far!

  5. It depends on how motivated you are. Is the one of which you are speaking a seedy place in an alley about 2 blocks from Canyon Club? Might I note you did not mention my evaluation of the drug store at Canyon Club.

I think we're talking about the same place, but I also think it's more than two blocks. If it's not, they're two very long blocks.

And I didn't say anything about your drug comment at Canyon Club because I've never witnessed any drug transactions there.
