Here we go again! After just 1 year of working with a new broker I get a call that she has left the firm. Apparently, brokers aren’t permitted to inform their clients that they’re leaving until after the fact. My last broker contacted me after he left the firm and wanted me to move my account to him. After meeting with a few new potential brokers I decided to stay with the firm as the new broker was very knowledgeable, had a good track record, and we had a lot in common. I was told by the firm that I’d be contacted by a new broker to set up an appointment to interview him/her. And, if it weren’t a good match other brokers would contact me. I just reviewed the excellent replies in this thread, however, if you can think of anything else I should ask, please just post. I’d be interested in hearing what investments this broker suggests during these rocky times.

When I started this thread my A1c was well above the diabetic range. My doctor prescribed additional medications and I met with a dietitian to review my eating habits. I was a good patient and followed their advice. Recently, I had a blood workup done and received the results this AM. My A1c, after 4 months on meds, is back in the normal range. I don’t speak for others but my meds & diet definitely worked. Thanks for the information others have provided. Good luck to all dealing with diabetes. 🙏

Life of Pi was 1st a novel (2001), then, a 2012 movie, and now a Broadway play! Currently, it’s an easy ticket to get @TKTS or TDF but that might soon change as it’s receiving rave reviews. It’s a fascinating story about a 17 year old boy named Pi who tells of his adventures surviving on a life boat after the cargo ship goes down. He encounters many animals that his family brought along. If you saw the play War Horse, the animals are life size puppets. After awhile you’ll think they are real. The Playbill lists 2 actors who play the very demanding role of Pi. I saw it with Adi Dixit. He was very likable and exciting to watch. The 1st Act has a very dramatic ending leaving the audience waiting for more. A very mesmerizing play! IMG_9730.MOV

Broadway lovers are going to enjoy walking the 3 floors of Broadway history. Admission was $32 and you begin with an orientation video explaining how Broadway moved to Times Square. As we approach the 2nd Anniversary of @Guy Fawkes passing it’s a good time to ask yourself the question: If anything happened to me, who would know? @Guy Fawkes lived alone. No neighbor or friend knew he was in need of help. After not hearing from him for a couple of days, the police were called to do a Wellness Check. Sadly, he was found on the floor barely alive and, a month later, passed away The outcome might have been different had he been found sooner. For those of you who live alone do you have a contact person who would realize something might be wrong if they didn’t hear from you? If there is one thing we can learn for this loss its the importance of having that contact person. RIP: @Guy Fawkes

@Exploritor, You raised a good question and received many positive answers. Yes, members have been meeting up since the site started. The 1st member I met was @jackhammer91406, some 20 years ago. He was visiting NY and posted that he was taking in a show at the Gaiety. I contacted him and arranged to meet. @foxy, another member & now a close friend, also joined us. I’ve met numerous members from attending the Gaiety and, every Sunday, @ the 20 Club. Some have become close friends. We had a group that traveled together to Montreal, Atlanta, Fort Lauderdale etc to take in the different strip clubs. Just this past weekend I was in Fort Lauderdale to meet a couple of members. Your location has a lot to do with meeting others. Whenever @Lucky or @glutes are in NYC I can always expect to hear from them. Good luck to you and, if you’re ever in NYC, send a PM.

Although I had read the plot for this musical I wasn’t exactly sure how it was going to be performed. The story is a bit odd but it captivated my attention. A cast of 9 talented actors who sing, dance, and ice skate. The crazy Aunt is comic relief and very funny! The play has a wonderful ending that will make you either cry or smile. The performance I saw was almost full.

I’m sure there are many ways to prepare salmon but here’s the recipe I follow. This is an easy recipe to prepare a dinner for one and a quick cleanup. Preheat oven to 400° 1/2 lb Fresh Salmon placed on enough aluminum foil to cover completely. Top with: sliced tomatoes, mushrooms, carrots, onions, lemon juice, garlic, and seasoning. I add 2 slices of butter but a couple tablespoons of vegetable oil is fine. Sometimes I add other vegetables that are in the refrigerator. Once you’ve added all the ingredients, seal the foil around the salmon and place in a cooking pan and into the oven. Cook for 25 minutes. When done, keep the salmon and extras in the foil and place on a dish. Open and enjoy! Bon appetite! 😋

@mmrr005, I saw Will today for a massage and asked him about “Aplus in Medford”. He said he never worked there. The Will at 68 Spa in Manhasset gives a good massage and very attentive to your needs. Will only works on weekends.
