  1. If you’re thinking of going to Spa 68 in Manhasset, Long Island, during the weekdays, I’d suggest calling ahead and asking if there’s a masseur working. If it’s Chris, I’d pass. I didn’t have a good experience with him… Will told me that he only works on weekends. The Spa is struggling and I doubt they’ll bring in another masseur. When I went on Sunday evening, I was Will’s only customer the entire day.
  2. Here’s some info: healthy+68+spa - Google Search WWW.GOOGLE.COM Yes, clean & safe. Across the street from the LIRR and above the dry cleaner.
  3. Had to do some searching to find the LI Spa thread. I was at “68 Spa” in Manhasset today. Hadn’t been for awhile. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Both Will and Kris were working. I went with Will since I already had a few satisfying massages with him. He’s good with his hands and understands what men are looking for without you asking. He’s there to please. His massage has improved somewhat. No longer uses the towel to massage your back for the 1st 10 minutes. Also does some sensual touching around the ear and arm. 1 hour massage is still $60 and you’ll find plenty of free street parking right outside the door. As a thank you, you’ll be offered a complimentary bottle of water and some hard candy.
  4. I, too, am surprised it’s closing. The show is extremely entertaining, fast moving, and professional. These actors/dancers/singers work very hard to put on this amazing production. I couldn’t tell if there was an orchestra or not but the music was great. If you plan on seeing it before it closes, I’d recommend sitting in the mezzanine in order to get a better view of the dance numbers. I doubt the people sitting in the front row could see the dancers’ feet.
  5. Obviously, I’m going to have a new set of questions as I meet & interview with new brokers. Two of my previous brokers have spoken to me and offered their services if I choose to follow them.

  7. I said the same thing to the rep who called.
  8. Unbelievable! Just received a call that my new broker, of less than 2 weeks, has resigned. I now will begin all over again meeting and interviewing new candidates. This will be my 4th broker in a year. Very hard when each broker has a different strategy for handling your portfolio. My original broker had been at this firm for 40 years, so, I’m not used to constantly breaking in new brokers. Since brokers are not permitted to inform their clients in advance that they are leaving, all have reached out to me asking me to follow them to their new firm. Unfortunately, they all have moved to companies I’ve never heard of.
  9. Every Tuesday Citibank updates their CD rates. I’m not sure how long the 9 month CD will remain @ 4.75% but that’s currently their best rate. Let’s see what tomorrow brings. In the meantime, instead of wondering if the rates will go up or down, I bought a 3 month Treasury Bill @ 5.01%. Maturity date 8/3/23.
  10. Administrator’s Message Gentlemen, The subject is Don Lemon. Let’s stick to that and not turn it into our personal political positions. 🙏 All off topic replies will be removed.
  11. My search for a new broker has come to an end! 🙏 During the past week I interviewed with a few potential brokers. I wanted to stay with my current brokerage house which is in my neighborhood. My original broker called to see if I wanted to move my account to her but I never heard of the company she joined. By chance, I was talking with a business associate about my dilemma and he mentioned someone that he thought I might already know who works there and lives in my neighborhood. I called, spoke with the “Group” he’s part of and had a wonderful conversation. Since I have several different types of accounts he had some good ideas as how to maximize the potential of each. We’re meeting for lunch next week to get better acquainted. Since several of you had already suggested questions for me to ask, I’ll write them down and use them at lunch. Thanks again to those members who replied to this thread. It’s most appreciated. 👏🏼
  12. Was at Citibank today. The best CD rate I could get was 9 months at 4.75%.
  13. @Lucky, I also enjoyed reading the many contributions of @edjames. He regularly submitted some excellent and well written reviews on Broadway shows. When I noticed he was missing from the site I contacted him to see how he was doing. He replied that he had moved to the Southwest to be closer to his family.
  14. Administrator’s Message Gentlemen, Let’s return to the subject, “Spanish Immersion Program”, and stop with the personal attacks. Off topic replies have been removed.
  15. @GTMike, Thanks for the thoughtful offer but I’m staying with my current firm. I have an appointment this week to interview a new broker. I hope it goes well. 🤞🏼
  16. @Lucky, That’s great news. Congrats! Other than Ozempic are you taking any other meds for diabetes?
  17. Here we go again! After just 1 year of working with a new broker I get a call that she has left the firm. Apparently, brokers aren’t permitted to inform their clients that they’re leaving until after the fact. My last broker contacted me after he left the firm and wanted me to move my account to him. After meeting with a few new potential brokers I decided to stay with the firm as the new broker was very knowledgeable, had a good track record, and we had a lot in common. I was told by the firm that I’d be contacted by a new broker to set up an appointment to interview him/her. And, if it weren’t a good match other brokers would contact me. I just reviewed the excellent replies in this thread, however, if you can think of anything else I should ask, please just post. I’d be interested in hearing what investments this broker suggests during these rocky times.
  18. When I started this thread my A1c was well above the diabetic range. My doctor prescribed additional medications and I met with a dietitian to review my eating habits. I was a good patient and followed their advice. Recently, I had a blood workup done and received the results this AM. My A1c, after 4 months on meds, is back in the normal range. I don’t speak for others but my meds & diet definitely worked. Thanks for the information others have provided. Good luck to all dealing with diabetes. 🙏
  19. Administrator’s Message Gentlemen, Let’s stay on topic and not make this thread about who said what. Thanks! 🙏

  21. Life of Pi was 1st a novel (2001), then, a 2012 movie, and now a Broadway play! Currently, it’s an easy ticket to get @TKTS or TDF but that might soon change as it’s receiving rave reviews. It’s a fascinating story about a 17 year old boy named Pi who tells of his adventures surviving on a life boat after the cargo ship goes down. He encounters many animals that his family brought along. If you saw the play War Horse, the animals are life size puppets. After awhile you’ll think they are real. The Playbill lists 2 actors who play the very demanding role of Pi. I saw it with Adi Dixit. He was very likable and exciting to watch. The 1st Act has a very dramatic ending leaving the audience waiting for more. A very mesmerizing play! IMG_9730.MOV

  23. Broadway lovers are going to enjoy walking the 3 floors of Broadway history. Admission was $32 and you begin with an orientation video explaining how Broadway moved to Times Square. Each exhibit brought back memories of the shows I had seen. I enjoyed it! Museum of Broadway: Home WWW.THEMUSEUMOFBROADWAY.COM In Summer 2022 the first permanent museum dedicated to Broadway will open at 145 West 45th Street in the...
