Your patience and indulgence are commendable. At least he showed up. I, too, have been in your situation but for much smaller stakes. The reality is that when they do finally reach you, the ensuing drama has already sucked the life out of them. My lesson learned is that it’s not worth the wait or expense to me.

Although it’s never come up or been offered during my visits with Oscar, I have been offered wine in upscale clothing stores, financial service offices and real estate agencies. All clearly without liquor licenses but presenting their version of hospitality in the hopes of facilitating a sale. I’m no attorney but doubt this is illegal.

I totally appreciate and respect your reaction. I would have felt the same. That said, I prefer to avoid DMs on the RM platforms, usually texting instead which eliminates potential 3rd party involvement. Maybe, that’s in part what he was reacting to.
