This looks a lot like Michael Yerger who was on Survivor a few years ago. A bit furrier and more tattoos than when he was on Survivor, and his "On My Honor" tattoo on his right collarbone is obscured in this picture, but given he was 19 when he was on Survivor, "furrier and more tattoos" is possible.

There was an old thread a while ago about meeting someone socially that you'd previously hired. it's happened to me, I did just as you did; let myself be introduced. But I kept wondering if his boyfriend (who was at the social event) knew he escorted. I never asked, I think that'd set off red flags.

In this thread, I see a long post and think "Oh, this is going to be good". This isn't a travel story, but the "ditching a family gathering to play" reminded me of my nephew's first communion. The closest I ever came to this was in my teens, when the parents were away on vacation and the house turned into a two-week party hangout.
