  1. The new Bill & Ted movie comes out today and it got a very good review in the Detroit Free Press. I remember back when the first came out, it was also very well reviewed in the Detroit independent paper. It's available on On-Demand on my cable system, but I may wait a bit until the $20 price drops.
  2. I had a friend who worked as a cam show performer, he later escorted. He & I were looking over the ads in the local gay bar rag and he laughed about one advertising "Hot cat with a big dick" - I didn't mention that I'd hired that guy a week or two earlier :-) That friend and I were at the stripper bar in Canada once, where one of the dancers picked me up and we played in the back seat of his car for a bit. I was totally surprised, apparently so was my friend...he struggled with how to ask and finally blurted out "Did you pay the guy?"
  3. Both pics look pretty good, Woofie - I would've ogled you :-)
  4. I discuss hiring with one friend, someone I hung out with at the stripper boy bar; he also hires escorts and like me, has taken some of the boys from the bar home. I have another couple of good friends who wouldn't be shocked to hear it (one of them said once "I've paid for sex, and I've been paid for it"), but I think they'd let it slip to others, so I've never told them.
  5. A couple I know casually had a massage ad up a couple of years ago, I hired them once. They've since split, one of them has had a Rentmen ad up for about three months, and the other just put an ad up. I'm still very locked down but I'd very much like to see the guy who just posted an ad again once it's safe.
  6. I just did the same. Some fun nostalgia in there. I joined in early 2012, I was probably lurking without posting before then (and just checking out the gallery, probably, before I found the wealth of information in the other forums). I laughed at a thread I started about a rentboy ad that (in my words) "was clearly a well-known model", asking if anyone knew if it was real. Someone asked who the model was, I never responded, the ad is gone, and I have NO idea who the model was now :-)
  7. This is the best advice so far. Age is irrelevant. I waited for years before my first, in my early 40's, and 2nd in my early 50's. Both make me feel good. The Starfleet shield on my shoulder sparked a wonderful conversation with a new friend at the dog park.
  8. Some comedienne made a joke about them back then; she said she'd tell people SHE was training in speed skating too, that explained her big thighs.
  9. That's Griffin Barrows when he started out at Chaosmen. Odd that HE kept his shorts on, but maybe it made the straight guy getting the massage more comfortable?
  10. My father, in a retirement home, has one of those "I've fallen and I can't get up" alert systems; the system phones me when he sets it off, and I've set that phone number to ring with something like an air raid siren, so I'm sure to notice it. I can't imagine a massage where that goes off in the middle.
  11. I had to google what "root" meant to Australians (but I'd kind of already guessed ) A co-worker who'd just relocated from England was apartment-hunting and refused to even look at a local complex named "Knob in the Woods".
  12. Perusing the ads in back of the independent newspapers back in the mid-80's. They were more agencies than individual guys, I remember talking to one of the agencies and taking notes on the guys that I was interested, and being terrified at one point that my roommate had seen the notes. I finally bit the bullet and hired one night while the roommate was out of town.
  13. I helped an escort who became a friend get a job at my company, working in a technical call center. It didn't work out well, he chafed at the corporate culture and the rules around the job, he only lasted a few months.
  14. Having just been through our company's annual mandatory harassment training, that phrasing set off a LOT of flags for me. Maybe just suggest a beer after work where the conversation might flow a bit freer?
  15. The massage-ee is Kittenbear, from Toronto, I think https://rentmasseur.com/KittenBear
  16. We took a team picture in the pool once. One guy had me behind him on deck, surreptitiously pulling back on his waist so he looked skinnier.
  17. Aw, you're sweet. But you've never seen me... :-P We don't all look great in our speedos.
  18. Ha. You may've hosted me. I attended a meet in Montreal in the late 90's/early 2000's and one of the local swimmers hosted me. I ended up meeting a cute guy from the Montreal team who I spent most of that weekend with instead.
  19. Book him again. The editor of "Amazing Science Fiction" stories, John Campbell, was known to be very helpful to new writers, if he rejected stories he'd give them advice on how they might improve it so it'd be accepted. If he accepted a story, he just sent a check. :-)
  20. Not MY travel, but a friend's travel story. When I was on the gay swim team we hosted a meet, swimmers from all over attended. I'd been flirting with a cute guy from Toronto; at the post meet dinner, someone started the "clinking glasses with silverware" they do at weddings, and we kissed each other. I lived about 40 miles away from the meet venue, and he was heading home the next morning, so it seemed like nothing more was happening. He'd driven to Michigan with another guy on his team, J; at the dinner J was lamenting that he'd met someone he wanted to spend the night with but couldn't make it out to his place. I convinced him to show me the slip of paper with his new friend's name/number, and as luck would have it he lived near me, about a mile away. My new friend followed me in their car back to my end of town, we dropped J off at his new friend's house, my new friend came back to my house, we had a very fun night, and he got up early, picked up J, and they headed back to Toronto. My teammates bugged me mercilessly to reveal who J's new friend was, but I keep secrets. :-)
  21. If there were a verbose button in real life / work, I'd probably wear it out.
  22. This is one of my favorites, thanks!
  23. That made me laugh.
  24. I didn't live through the 50's and grew up in the 60's in a totally-white environment. I'd like to think that's exaggerated but I am sure that's wishful thinking on my part. I took a friend to see "Milk" and she asked me if the depiction of how gays were treated in the 70's was true.
  25. I just watched the first episode. Wow. The depiction of what African-Americans lived through in the 50's is jarring, then it jumps into full-on horror movie. And the bod on Jonathan Majors, the lead. Damn.
