Have not really been following this thread. Just glanced over this just now. I am Asian and have never felt the need to disclose that in any situation. I have encountered the looks, being called ching ching Chinaman, had people make squinty eyes in front not me. Yup, all that. But who cares. Life goes on, move on and don't dwell on it. Perhaps the person is prejudice, naive, undereducated but either way, I don't dwell on it. Maybe it may bother me a bit but as long as I am not physically assaulted ( which I never have) then just move on.

Yup. Thanks to everyone for their empathy. I'm sure many have been through something similar. To clarify, I've read about some pretty awful experiences on here, my experience wasn't awful, awful. It was just bad compared to my good experiences. I'd say it was very disappointing. The lessons I learned have been said here before and based on my experience I thought it'd be good to repeat them as a friendly reminder.

I've gotten several really crude questions over the last 6 months or so. I don't consider myself a prude, but I also don't do crude. If it's someone that I have commented on in the forum, it is someone that I like. Please do not judge all forum members based on the poor judgement of one member. Makes me wonder if you should tell us the name of the forum member?

Use your common sense. Meet him first in a public setting, for some coffee and conversation. We are not talking about hiring for one hour, we are talking about a long term arrangement, with multiple hours meetings involved. You should make sure there is good chemistry. If you are not confident, go slow. Your safety is paramount.
