  1. I live fairly close to a Starbucks in Philadelphia (near the Rocky statue). Yes, the coffee is wonderful, but it is also a meeting place, especially on weekdays. And you don't need to order complicated coffee drinks, just order regular black coffee.
  2. And "Snails in the Rain," a wonderful film from Israel.

    Cute

    Nice Thank you.
  4. Essential: Flowers and trees in bloom, also CNN and The Washington Post online (free right now).
  5. Hi Chi Minh City is one of dirties in the world. And it is difficult to cross the street without being hit by a freaking motor bike. In contrast, Toyko and Hong Kong are wonderful cities, although difficult to find addresses in Toyko, but better at night.
  6. Yes, I remember that photo of Kristian. Luckily an escort agency in the Eastern US featured him as a guest for a long weekend. The agency took advantage of his relative inexperienced. I hired him for an overnight. In the morning, he looked forward to appointments into the late evening. When I asked him why, Kristian said, "I don't want to disappoint anyone.". Classy man!
  7. In the 1960s only beer was sold in Center County, Pennsylvania where Penn State is located. So price at state liquor store wouldn't have mattered to Penn State students. (smile) And based on my one Saturday night in St. Petersburg, Russians would have a way to drinking no matter what.
  8. Now, and for years, there is a ferry from Camden to Philadelphia. A much better trip if you live in Center City Philadelphia.
  9. My mom's family has a very bad history of alcohol abuse. Me too until I was 33. I still drink occasionally, but not to excess. I am still totally embarrassed by some the things I did when drunk. I doubt my Mother ever had even a beer during her life, so a good Roll model
  10. Joe Paterno territory
  11. Me,too
  12. Daniel Radcliff
  13. When I was a kid we saw an out of town try out of a play with Henry Fonda and Barbara Bel Geddes. I didn't realize to was possible to see Henry Fonda in person.
  14. "The Magic Mountain" but it is a bit too close to what is happening now. A wonderful novel by German author Thomas Mann about TB and pre WW One Europe.
  15. Thanks. It should have read "repost."
  16. Repost of my own post. Sorry
  17. Peter Navarro has stepped up the arguments for drugs already available for other illnesses to fight COVID-19. He is not a doctor, and has other duties in the Trump Administration. Arguing with Doctor Anthony Fouci is fine in private, but not when those "discussions" inevitably become public.
  18. What happened to your outcries about the deaths in so-called regime change wars? Now you seem to be minimizing deaths from COVID-19. Somewhat inconsistent, right?
  19. God speed. Traffic that you shared with everyone.
  20. As important, how do students make friends and get to know teachers if interaction is only on line. How would graduate school recommrndations work if students never even meet teachers?
  21. Mike Henson, Joey Stefano
  22. I suddenly become sick when getting off Amtrak in Union Station in Washington last Fall. Passengers saw me and alerted emergency in the station An ambulance took me GWU hospital for the night. I was discharged the next day. My health insurance paid for the ambulance. Thanks much for your post.
  23. James Levine is 76 years old. He was the musical director of the Metropolitan Opera for 40 years and conducted thousand of performance with the Met and other Opera companies and sympathy orchestra. He was fired fairly recently for sexual behavior that was beyond inappropriate.
  24. Several people here have now disagreed with the so-called scientific study. Is that enough?
