Excellent post. My tastes have evolved as well. I am not longer mush attracted to the masculine Marlboro Man. I was just in rural West Virginia on vacation, and met two guys at a neighborhood swimming hole. who had graduated high school and were now in the military. The cuter one asked if I wanted to take his picture, "Everyone seems to want to take my picture!" Years ago they would have been too young, but not now. So I agree that variety in all different shapes and sizes is a wonder to behold.

College goes down the shitter, survey says
+ WilliamM replied to + stevenkesslar's topic in The Lounge
Bless the GOP for their votes in the 1960s, especially of civil rights. Perhaps if Pres. Kennedy had lived and won reelection in 1964, he would have matched Pres. Johnson efforts in convincing Sen. Dirkson and other Republican to remember their civil rights roots. LBJ also started the student loan program. -
bigvalboy: Here is some information about Steve Fox that you may, or may not know: http://menofporn.typepad.com/menofporn/2007/11/setting-the-rec.html He has been gone a long time. I actually called him once to try to set up an escort appointment. He was very nice to me, in a fairly thick southern accent...but would not commit. I believe I called him around 1994. Like you, he is not my favorite, but glad you mentioned him.

I agree with purplecow in that one should move on. What is fascinating are the update in adding the 2015 and 2016 photos,

The Armenian genocide by the Ottoman Empire.
+ WilliamM replied to marylander1940's topic in The Lounge
Marylander, Thanks for posting about Armenia. I have a friend who is half Armenian. The country, formerly part of the Soviet Union, has had a sad history even after the genocide mentioned by the pope. As with many Eastern European country the boundaries have changes many times. The best that could be said, unlike Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia, Russia has not joined a separatist movement in the country as yet. -
I agree about Mike Henson, especially in "Big Guns." Outview lists Mike Henson as number four in the Top 20 Hottest Porn Stars. Of their Top Twelve only Eric Mancester, Kevin Williams and John Davenport are still living. The 12 Hottest: 1. Bill Hensen; 2. Chad Douglas; 3. Eric Mancester; 4. Mike Henson; 5. Al Parker; 6. Jon King; 7. Joey Stepano; 8. Jack Wrangler; 9. Kevin Williams; 10. Casey Donovan; 11. Lance; 12. John Davenport.

http://images.nypl.org/index.php?id=swope_5568585&t=w Photo of Caulfield from the Public Theater production, with clothes added. But, you get the concept.
-
That photo is not from the play in New York. The women were dressed in modern clothes. And Caulfield may have had a small towel under his head, but certainly not a large beach towel/blanket. I was sitting about fifteen feet away from Maxwell. However, Caulfield may have been in another production of "Salonika."
-
I believe the only really successful play Max starred in was "Entertaining Mr. Sloane" off-Broadway around 1980. He left the play for "Grease 2." Brad Davis took over in "Sloane." Maybe things would have worked out differently, if Caulfield had stayed with "Entertaining Mr. Sloane," which was sold out every night because of his performance and sex appeal.
-
I saw his very early in "Class Enemy" off-Broadway when he played a high school tough guy, but kept his clothes on. That certainly changed by the time of "Salonica' with Jessica Tandy. Max is right in the interview; he was naked on a beach during most of the play. Very impressive! I could not find any photos, but do not remember any strong-arm enforcement against cameras at the Public Theater in NY where the play had its short run.

Credit/Debit Cards: Do you / would you use them and /or accept them??
+ WilliamM replied to Electra225's topic in The Lounge
My mistake. I have only been in countries lately that are not in the Eurozone. Add Sweden & The Czech Republic to the eastern European countries I mentioned earlier. Thanks very much for your response. -
Credit/Debit Cards: Do you / would you use them and /or accept them??

Is that a recent change, Steven? It would have helped greatly when I was driving through Bosnia, Croatia and Slovenia for four weeks in 2013. -

Yes, I prefer credit cards. In fact, back in the day, some escort agencies took credit cards. I do not have a problem revealing my name. I find having a lot of cash in my pocket annoying, especially as we move to a mostly cash-free society. I remember when I would buy traveler's checks before a vacation. Glad those days are over, escorting will change as well. -
I'm going to drop a dime on this broken record.

I live in Philadelphia, a city that still has a F.Y.E. store that sells DVDs, CDs and vinyl. For the last two years, the store has more and more vinyl every month. I checked on Amazon, most new pop music releases are available on vinyl. -
Veterans Day...A day to remember and to honor.
+ WilliamM replied to bigvalboy's topic in The Lounge
Even saying "thank you for your service" once a year was not happening very often for most of the forty-five years since I returned from Vietnam. I am very grateful that there has been a change, and some folks, especially young people, even want to talk about what occurred in Vietnam. I agree that the problem of rape in the military is a major problem and very much should be discussed more here. But, I would have hoped that you could have balanced a Veterans Day post by also mentioning veterans of all U.S. wars with significant, life-long physical and mental problems and the huge number of veterans with PTSD. -
Racy Gay Scenes in 'How to Get Away with Murder' Draw a Following
+ WilliamM replied to + WilliamM's topic in The Lounge
I agree. Just before the first episode, the University of Pennsylvania student newspaper disclosed that the adminstration turned down requests for some scenes of "How to Get Away with Murder" to be filmed at Penn Law School and on the campus in general. The show's law school is located in Philadelphia, with a fictional name. I have wondered from the beginning how first-year law students can do so much outside work and keep up with all their other courses. I watch "How to Get Away with Murder" only for the eye-candy and gay sex. There have been rumors for a long time that Juliana Margulies (Alicia Florrick), the star of "The Good Wife," and Archie Parjabi (Kalinda Sharma) had a major personal following out. They have not appeared in a a scene together on "The Good Wife" for two seasons. Kalinda Sharma has always been bi/pansexual and non-monogamous, but perhaps a tad more lately to move the plot forward (which otherwise might have happened with scenes between Alicia and Kalinda). I am just naming the rumors, which I do finally believe because clearly Juliana Margulies can call the shots; there would not anymore TGW without her. -
Veterans Day...A day to remember and to honor.
+ WilliamM replied to bigvalboy's topic in The Lounge
I really appreciate all the good wishes I received today. The best way to approach a veteran is to ask about what he/she actually did in the military. I have never met anyone in the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard who did have at least two or three good and funny stories. I know I have more than my share. Again, thanks to the people here. Your good thoughts on Memorial Day and Veterans Day always cheer me! -
I had an orbital fracture and a cheek-bone fracture as the result of a bad fall three years ago. It's impossible to assess the extent of the orbital fracture in the seconds or minutes after it happens. Even after being taken to the emergency room and going through all the tests, x-rays, etc., it took a while. I only learned anything the next morning when the head doctor called me and said that an operation was not needed. He forecast that every other doctor would recommend an operation. He was right. I am fine, except for some minor lingering difficulty looking up. But, you do not lose your sense of proportion at any time, and shooting someone many times should never have been an option.

I believe the problem now is not bodies left in a field, but who (the separatists) has control of the bodies in refrigerated rail cars and morgues. Yes, it is extremely disturbing to everyone, especially the families. It is unfair to characterize all the separatists at the crash site as thugs strutting around with guns. That's just not the case. Some of the separatists have been very helpful and caring, but not the leadership. Based on an e-mail from an British-American friend at the crash site sent at 12:34 AM this morning Ukrainian time.
-
When the directive was issued, it was NOT known that the separatists had weapons that could reach above 32,000 feet. The separatist had shot down Ukrainian planes at a lower height earlier in the week. Experts have been quoted in newspapers and said on TV in the last few days that the Malaysians did nothing wrong in flying at 33,000 feet.
-
Not everyone still considered Eastern Ukraine a major war zone after Putin removed a large number of Russian troops from the Ukraine/Russia border. In reality, things have been falling apart in Eastern Ukraine, despite some major recent government victories near Donetsk. Maryinka and Mariupol are still under separatist control, yet Kiev has been shelling both cities regularly this week. Yesterday, CNN was showing radar reports of commercial planes still flying over Eastern Ukraine after the Malaysian plane was shot down
-
My understanding from watching CNN almost non-stop is that the Malaysian plane was flying a slightly different route than most commercial airplanes because of weather problems to the south. And we know that the separatists had shot down two Ukrainian planes earlier this week. If that message was from Strelkov, it is the first time anyone has broken the news. I believe Strelkov is de facto minister of defense in the DPR (Donetsk People's Republic). Borodai is "prime minister." We probably will not know much until the DPR's next press conference, and see who shows up to discuss the situation and answer questions. A friend was recently discussing Strelkov's extension and impressive military experience with Russia, including serving in Bosnia on the Serbian side in the 1990s. I agreed, but there comes a time for many people when twenty years of combat experience is too much; that may be true for Strelkov.
