  1. Excellent ??
  2. I mostly agree, but even in Philadelphia the sad deaths are a mix of African-Americans, Whites and Latinos. And some Asians. Simply posting from Palm Springs with journals, newspapers, a book or three is ok, but certainly not optimal.
  3. I became friends with my hot young neighbor in the 1980s when I believed he was gay. He wasn't, but I am still glad we became friends. Personality is a factor for me, although a minor factor.
  4. No politics in this forum. You do realize the director of the New York City Housing Authority is likely a politicial appointment, disguised as something else for the masses.
  5. I was able to read a little of the Journal article on the University's site. To be honest, I was surprised that most of the students are online long before the novel coronavirus. Disappointing.
  6. Didn't Falwell keep Liberty University open, when most universities closed including the University of Pennsylvania?
  7. I don't think it is correct to state "most people don't develop symptoms.". Doctors Brix and Fauci would strongly disagree
  8. Merman concerning Mary Martin, "She's ok if you like talent."
  9. People who die Young, especially in war, often leave parents and girlfriends behind. I am not sure they are thinking of the great beyond when near death.
  10. Doctor Sulkin was the Veterans Administration Director until recently. He just appeared on CNN discussing the risk of veterans during this novel coronavirus pandemic. That is one of many reasons to watch CNN, especially for vets and those who are concerned about vets.
  11. Fox News has Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson and several part-time loonies. Enough said.
  12. Jonathan left Premier in 2000 to escort on his own Great guy in every way.
  13. I have liked Nathan Lane in every musical and play I have seen him. Merman was and Lane is bigger than life on stage.
  14. CNN is not "hysterical," like Fox News. It is time to stop reading when someone writes "those of us" at least for me.
  15. I agree. Amazing ?
  16. The player's union will ultimately approve an updated version of the plan so almost everyone can boo the Astros
  17. My mom was in a nursing home in Philadelphia until the end of her life. I was prepared to interfere, but I had been a consultant to the Philadelphia Corporate for Aging. Folks have different backgrounds, I believe.
  18. In many cases, close relatives have jobs they can't afford to give up for their families. I am one of oldest members here, but there came a time when my grandma couldn't stay at home with us any longer (in 1948). My mother visited almost every day in the nursings home. And my mom was the youngest of eight children. I don't remember *any feeling of dishonor," rather different cultures.
  19. I am not surprised. Nursing home are trying to do their best, I assume. But, of course, they often fall short.
  20. That sounds fairly complicated at a time where so many people are so concerned about contacting novel coronavirus.
  21. You are assuming the family has as much experience as you or me. Not everyone is socially knowledgeable to "put on their big pants." You must know that from your volunteer work
  22. Exactly. There are no easy answers given the patient in question may have been exposed to novel coronavirus in her current nursing home. So moving to another nursing home is a problem, a big problem.
  23. May not be a easy task during a pandemic, especially if the current facility is in rural area with few other options. And possible transportation issues for the family.
