So I came home from Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam trip last October, and IMMEDIATELY ordered and installed this. It was in virtually every bathroom I went in, even a “trench” style squat bathroom. Yes, it’s cold water. I’ve loved it and used it ever since, brief wash, and dry with a tiny bit of toilet paper which by the way stays remarkably white! Yes, I forgot to mention tempering your steak before cooking. Re: seasonings it’s a very wide open a topic. I season with kosher salt while tempering outside the fridge. But, I only put other spices on the seared side after flipping. I feel pepper/garlic burns and can cause an off flavor. I know I’m kinda unique in that thinking…and truth be told I will sometimes season as @pubic_assistance mentions. But a REALLY good prime steak….the salt during tempering is enough for me.

I cook a lot of steak. Filet mignon, NY’s, top sirloin. I’ve done reverse-sear, sous-vide then sear, etc. My current favorite though is sear in white hot cast iron skillet, optionally baste with some butter and aromatic herbs while searing, then place on ovenproof plate into 350 degree oven until about 105 internal temp. Pull it out, and let it rest 5-10 mins, the internal temp usually “pushes” to about 120. I do not recommend putting it into the oven in the same cast iron pan you seared it in - the cast iron retains so much heat the steak can easily overcook in the oven. Amen, brother!

Same here. In high school/college I always did the ‘beer run’ because I looked much older than my actual teen age. Never got “carded”. Same through college. But now at 69, people often comment “69? No, you look much younger”, and even family/friends say “you look better now than you did 15 years ago!”. I’m enjoying it. I will say that appearance is important, but a lot of it is positive attitude and confidence in myself and my “look”.

Which provider?

I hired Chad Conners dozens (and dozens?) of times, like @Whatsupandstuff it was almost 30 years ago. We clicked, good connection I think he enjoyed his visits with me as much as any provider can. He did a little county jail time which some leapt on as a negative…things happen. I helped him out during that trying time and never regretted that. He had his demons like many of do, but was amazing with me. FYI I found him in the “yellow pages” of Frontiers magazine back in the day. Had to make a phone call and have a conversation to set a meet 🤣.

I travel frequently to Honolulu for some “work”, it’s work for a non-profit group with connections to the Mainland, I’m a liaison for the Mainland to Honolulu committees. On a recent April trip, I went to my favorite Honolulu steak/seafood house. I travel alone on these trips, so usually find a spot at the bar where the full menu as well as pupus are on offer so depending on my appetite it’s a fun place to be. On arrival that evening, as I walked in a stunning young man just happened to greet me and say “hi, how are you this evening, have a great time”. He was leaving on his break, I thought it was nice of him to greet an arriving customer on his way out. He looked like a Honolulu surfer type, full head of amazing longish wavy hair, blond/brunette, great smile, handsome, inch or two shorter than me, I was taken by his look…very much a type I’m attracted to, maybe 30 years old. That evening when he returned from his break, turned out he was a bartender/back bar employee. I watched him behind the bar working, keeping in touch with me and indeed all the customers. Left that evening with a pleasant “have a nice evening” and not much more. Fast forward, later that evening I was returning to my condo and saw him again, didn’t chat but thought to myself “coincidence” that I saw him again and left it at that. Later that night I opened up Grindr, and lo and behold there he was! I didn’t reach out, it was my last night, I had a very early flight the next morning. When I got home after much back/forth indecision in my mind, I sent him a message on Grindr, very easygoing message, basically telling him what I mention above, saw you, you seem interesting, maybe next time I’m in Honolulu I’ll reach out. He replied (to my surprise) “yes, reach out next time you’re in town”. So last week I was back in Honolulu for 3 nights, I did send him a message saying I was in town, he wrote back “yes, let’s meet”. I went to his restaurant my first night in town - not really expecting to see him - but there he was. I was at a quiet spot at the end of the bar - at one point he walked by and I said “Hi, it’s me….” Lucky for me he was on his way for a break, so he spent some time with me. Turns out he from Columbia, with a bit of an accent, I threw out some of my limited Spanish and we laughed, and we chatted quite a bit that night off/on as he worked and was able. I went back to the restaurant the next couple nights, I enjoy the place and it’s super convenient to where I was staying. We chatted each night, made a couple of attempts via messaging to schedule a time to meet, I ultimately messaged him my phone number and within an hour he messaged me direct on my phone. Again, not able to really set anything up…my work meetings and his work schedule didn’t match. We had some miscommunication about our mutual timing my last day there, my last dinner there I said how great it was to be chatting, he said he’d misunderstood my timing for that day and maybe my next visit we could work something out. Later that evening, he messaged me again saying “maybe if you’re staying up late tonight, after my shift?” I wrote back “sure I’ll wait up, let’s meet and relax after you’re off work”. So around midnight he messaged me again saying “I’m free…”. I gave him my location and unit number, and minutes later we were sitting on my couch chatting and sharing things about our lives. He didn’t resisting my causal touching, my hand on his shoulder, around his shoulders, etc. as we conversed. At one point I suggested maybe he’d like a massage…told him I gave a good amateur massage “that often leads to more fun”. 😉 He thought that sounded like a good idea! We went to the bedroom, and I gave him a 20-30 minute rubdown that ended up with both of us naked, cuddling, touching, light kissing, etc. We had a lot of “side” fun - and two simultaneous powerful eruptions. Much more cuddling, talking, enjoying each other’s company. A great initial visit. He left after a few hours, with assurances that we would meet on my next trip. So, no full on sex…but an amazing experience and reinforcement to me that some younger guys are still into my late 60’s “Papa Hemingway” look! Apologies if this was more about the lead up to meeting (I actually enjoy the lead up) rather than sexy details, but it was fun and I’m booking another trip first week of June!
