I pay almost no attention to interview questions, provider’s “intos”, or even text in the ad. If I like the look of a provider I reach out, have a conversation, and see if we are on the same page or not.

I think I may have posted about Scott Sloan long ago in this 70 page thread. I hired him once, while it wasn’t my best hire ever…we had fun, he smoked a bit of weed and relaxed. He got hard…looked like his pics, fantastic smooth body. We talked about real estate. Chalked that one up to “one and done”.

I read “Cutting for Stone” by Abraham Verghese a few years ago, loved it. More recently I just finished another one by him “Covenant of Water”. Both great reads.

I’m approaching the end of my 70th 7th decade, don’t consider myself “old”. Confident of my age, my look, my personality, and my respect for providers. I don’t “haggle”. But, if a provider quotes a rate that far and away above the local market rates, I’ll politely decline. If they then come back with an adjusted offer, I might continue the conversation. Perhaps end up discussing a “session rate” which often meets their quoted rate…but for an extended period of meeting time.

Universal Studios is actually pretty WeHo “adjacent”. Not a bad Uber or car drive “over the hill”. You’ll have no trouble with WeHo providers doing the travel to Universal.

EP3 dropped last night, I enjoyed it….introduced a fun sub-plot.

I grew up in the hospitality business. My family was always taught the customer is “right”. 50 years since beginning in that business I can tell you it’s hard to hold to that standard today. So many customers try and scam in many different ways, making illegitimate credit card chargebacks, lying about missing Uber/DoorDash deliveries, browbeating employees. I still strive to maintain a 100% excellent customer experience, but my gosh it’s harder than ever.
