Can Older Men Still Have Quality Experiences?
Luv2play replied to + Lucky's topic in Questions About Hiring
Absolutely. I'm a case in point. -
The monarchs I cited from centuries ago did have more power than those of the 19th and 20 centuries, who as pointed out exercise influence rather than power. Influence is a sort of soft power but often works more effectively in certain situations than raw power. Just look at how powerful governments often resort to influence rather than have the potential backfire from trying to order people to do something through a naked exercise of power. During her lifetime Queen Elizabeth has had to contend with powerful leaders like Margaret Thatcher who was not given to subtle exercise of power. In the end, Thatcher's power evaporated in an instant when she lost the confidence of her own party members. The Queen just sailed on to dealing with John Major, Thatcher's replacement.

I am more turned on by the guy doing the licking and what he has showing between his legs.

He certainly has some physical assets to bring to the marriage. Hopefully he is also well endowed where it counts, at least in my assessment of suitable partners I would choose. Lol

When the British have a popular leader leading a strong government with majority support in Parliament, then the Queen does tend to fade into the background which is as it should be. But when the elected government or their leader is on the ropes, then the stability in government institutions which the Crown embodies acts as a stabilizing force and the Queen's presence is reassuring to the public. Prime ministers come and go but she has carried on for some 14 PMs, I believe is the number, since ascending the throne. When history is written, the age is often defined by the Monarch, not the governments. Just think back as far as the First Elizabethan Age or Henry VIII, or the Victorian Age or the Edwardian Age. The Queen has reigned so long that I think her epoch will become known as the Second Elizabethan Age.

Yes indeed, the poor bishop beside her can only move on the black tiles.

As I understand the role of the British monarch as a constitutional ruler, their role is to advise, be consulted and warn where necessary the duly elected government. Obviously the monarch needs to be mentally capable of fulfilling these roles. In the event the Queen was no longer able to do this, I think a regency would be established, as it was for George III when he lost his mind. In the US where the president is both the head of government and head of state, this problem was encountered with Woodrow Wilson when he suffered a massive stroke and we are told his wife became the go-between. Maybe someone more familiar with the US constitution can detail when changes were made to reflect this reality. I think another change was made in the rules of succession after the Kennedy assassination when the ancient speaker of the house McCormick stood next in line after Johnson became the president in 1963. The British don't have a written constitution as such but rely heavily on convention and precedent and the rule of law, which has served them very well over many centuries. By contrast all the rules written into the US constitution appear to be not serving the American people very well these days, at least in my humble opinion.

This just had to happen on a day I didn't tune in to see what was happening. At least I was engaged at the time in the activity we are here to discuss primarily so my missing in action prevented me from being a contender for the 2 millionth post. Anyway congratulations Lucky. Your name makes you a suitable winner and I was as usual luving to play at the time you were winning the contest.

I believe it was Queen Victoria, George V's grandmother, who dictated that Mary Teck, who was of only minor royal blood, marry George after Prince Albert died shortly before he was to marry her. As it turned out, they had a successful marriage and George V did not have a mistress like his father Edward VII had. His eldest son, Edward (or David as his family called him) had several mistresses, the last of whom he married by giving up the throne. Charles, on the other hand, got to marry his mistress after the one time Princess of Wales died in a car crash in Paris. Mary Teck would have rolled in her grave at that development.

I just did an overnight two nights ago which was a spontaneous decision. I had had a two hour session the previous night with this new provider and was so taken with him that I scheduled another for the next evening. We started with a drink in the hotel bar where I was staying and then retired to my room. The night before he had started by giving me a terrific erotic massage but this was on my hotel bed, not the most ideal for him. We started with this again but he told me something that was deeply personal and our conversation evolved from that. So I decided to invite him to stay the night but he couldn't because he had a dog at home who was alone. So we ubered to his apartment where I met his dog and we all had a wonderful time. He was able to give me a more professional massage on the table in a separate studio he had with all the right ambience. We then retired to his king sized bed and had terrific sex. Afterwards the dog crept into bed with us as I lay cuddled with my new friend, both of us naked. The dog lay on my other side all night. We did have some more sex during the night and the dog went away without our asking. He then reappeared when we resumed sleeping and lay beside me all the rest of the night. I had lost my dog 6 months ago and it was so nice to have this little furry creature that acted like I was his life long friend.

I think Charles will choose George VII as his name on becoming king. His Christian names are Charles Philip Arthur George. King Charles would recall unpopular kings, there is no precedent for King Philip and he would compare unfavourably to King Arthur, at least the legend. He has a legitimate claim to George and his grandfather George VI was very popular and played with Charles when he was a young boy. While Edward VIII was called David by his family, his title as prince was Prince Edward of York. So King Edward VIII was a natural choice. His father, George V, was Prince George of Wales and was not originally in direct line to the throne until his older brother died. He not only got the throne but also the fiancee of his older brother, Queen Mary (Princess Teck). I don't think what the royal family called the princes prior to their becoming king enters into it at all.

Have I got this straight? Lucky won with his "I was one short" post? And Rand with his guess on the date for the 2 millionth post? If so congratulations to both. I am very happy that Lucky lived up to his name on this site and I always enjoy his posts on various subjects. I almost feel like a kindred spirit of Lucky's since we are of the same generation and seem to have had many similar life experiences. Maybe he feels otherwise, of course. Lol

I saw where the prosecutor for SF was overwhelmingly recalled in the voting yesterday. The voters are clearly unhappy with local law enforcement.

I gave up watching tv a couple of years ago when I didn't replace my broken tv. But this weekend I was in Montreal and caught quite a bit of the British ceremonies when I wasn't otherwise occupied (ahem). I quite enjoyed the pomp and ceremony which no-one does better than the British. And they had some decent weather which was a plus for all the outdoor activities. Apparently 10 years ago they had cold wet weather for the Diamond Jubilee. As a Canadian I have ambivalent feelings about the monarchy but only as it relates to our situation in Canada. I think it serves the British people well but not our people quite so well. For instance Charles and Camilla just had a three day visit to Canada, the first in several years, and avoided Quebec including Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver. So the three largest cities in Canada representing about a quarter of the population if you include their suburbs. They spent one day visiting the far north to meet with some aboriginals. Relations between Canada and its indigenous people are fraught with tensions these days and the British Crown does have a unique relationship with them through the treaties that were signed several centuries ago. Charles is unlikely to be held in much esteem or affection by Canadians when he ascends the throne unlike the way his mother is today. The future of the monarchy in Canada is going to be put to the test. He may flunk.

I'm a premium client on RM so can chat with new and old providers who post ads. I always start a new contact by using the chatline. Thsat way they can see my profile as well as I can see all the info on theirs, including semi-private pics. Initiating contact on the chatline also means I can post a review if I do hire. In 99 percent of the cases I get a response to my chat enquiry. I often switch to private text after we have established a rapport on the chatline. In one case recently I only got the provider's phone number after our third session. We have now had 4 and he has become a regular for me.

I've never stayed in the old town but wandering around in the daytime I think there are mostly boutique hotels like M. The area does have some nice restaurants and lots of tourists day and night during the season. If your focus is the village for evening activities I wouldn't stay in the old town. Just my opinion.

Maybe that is why these days car doors automatically lock once you are underway.

Montreal - 747 Express airport bus - warning

I hope you've gone to a place with nice weather because right now I've enjoyed three days in a row of beautiful late spring sunshine and temperatures right here in Montreal. -
I'm in Montreal now for the same period as the op. Won't be going to the stripper bars this time also. Maybe some time in the future.
-
I agree the village is not a short walk to downtown, more like a 10 minute cab ride. In Montreal right now and one thing to consider is that is a safe place to visit. Crime seems to be very low and thank God, no mass shootings. Of course its had a few in the past but I can only recall one that happened over 30 years ago and led to tightened gun restrictions. And more are coming.

I walked by the Chateau Versailles this morning on my little walk after breakfast. It looks good and I did stay there 40 years ago once. Its small so privacy would be my concern about taking visitors back to my room. Also its not near the old town which would be a 40 minute walk or more down and uphill on the way back.

I'm in Montreal right now enjoying beautiful weather and a couple of hot men during the evenings. As a Canadian the exchange rate is not a consideration. I'm stating at the Omni Mont Royal which is in a very beautiful part of downtown Montreal. With taxes and all it will be about $400 a night plus valet parking another $120 for 3 nights. Is it worth it? Absolutely. The rooms are nice and have 2 double beds, one for sleeping and the other, well guess. It has an outdoor pool and attached Jacuzzi which my friend and I enjoyed yesterday before moving on to indoor pursuits. Its got a nice cocktail lounge off the lobby where I will be entertaining this evening before going upstairs to my playroom. The restaurants around the hotel are very good and great variety to choose from, all within a 10 minutes walk. Another trip without dropping in at the Village. I wasn't attracted to the stripper bars because of the latest problem with Monkeypox. Oh and the city is doing a great job on cleaning the streets. Work crews visible everywhere doing a superlative job. These are the little things that make a visit so pleasant. Of course the eye candy on the streets everywhere and in the bars and restaurants never fails to stimulate the senses.

The ones dying from it in my area are all very senior citizens, usually in their 90's. But then the Queen had it earlier this year and survived. Btw, not to hijack this thread but the tv here in Canada has just been bingeing on coverage of the Platinum celebrations in London. Makes you think that when she does go, the state funeral will be unlike any other since Winston Churchill's.

I flew in a DC3 in the late 60's which was operated by Quebecair. You got on near the rear and the aisle sloped upward. It was a real workhorse and considered very safe. It wasn't pressurized as I recall.
