I did a search and as I have indicated the Harvard study has been debunked. They counted potatoes consumed to include potato chips and french fries. Garbage in, garbage out.

The way she pulled out of the storage area after her first accident and attempts to help her suggest this was no mechanical failure. Your second option is more likely.

What do we know about when and how Montreal clubs will reopen?

That's going to disappoint a lot of people, coming at the last moment. -

In my recent visits to Montreal this year the city had looked cleaner and well kept with flower boxes and other amenities. I credit the city administration of Valerie Laplante, the city mayor who is the first that I can recall puts the citizens first and is not corrupt as so many of her predecessors were. -
Past studies including by Harvard about potatoes have been debunked since they were poorly done. Study populations counted potato chips and french fries as potatoes they consumed and were counted. Current science includes white potatoes in a healthy diet if eaten correctly. The glycemic index is more important to diabetics since blood sugar spikes are more critical to them than to those who are healthy and ear a balanced nutritional diet, such as myself.

Based on the video evidence, I'm prepared to jump to conclusions. She was obviously drunk as a skunk. And suicidal, it appears.

This is a very misleading post. There is a huge difference between naturally occuring sugars in foods such as fruits and vegetables and added sugar to many prepared foods such as soft drinks, candy, desserts, etc. The naturally occuring sugars will not harm you, the refined white sugars in all its forms will if taken to excess. Compared to many other areas, North American diets suck, generally speaking, and you see evidence of it daily on the streets and in the supermarkets and restaurants. And btw, we all need sugar in our diets. Just the right kind. Potatoes and rice do not constitute a harmful source of sugar.

Holiday Options - Beach Villa vs Chartered Yacht

I agree about the yacht. $1million for a fully staffed boat that could accomodate 12 in comfort in a. salubrious place moving from port to port in high season doesn't come cheap. -
Holiday Options - Beach Villa vs Chartered Yacht
Luv2play replied to BtmBearDad's topic in The Travel Desk
You might want to look into Ibiza. Years ago I spent a week there with my then lover and I think 4 others. We rented a villa, two small cars (I wanted to come and go with my guy as I pleased). The old town, which was easily accessible to our villa, was lovely with great dancing clubs and restaurants. The beaches were beautiful. The weather was great. Can't remember the month but not July, Aug. I think June. -
He should at least put a not available on his ad if he doesn't want to pull it altogether.

Interesting how the criteria are spelled out. It would appear to exclude a gay man who limited himself to a single provider and had sex with him on an infrequent but regular basis, say twice in one month and only once the next. The provider is clearly included even if he doesn't get much business because the sex he has is to provide food, etc for his needs.

You misunderstood what I was trying to say. With airconditioning you are driving the temperature down so the minimum temperature you set is what the system is aiming for as it lowers temperatures from the 90's and above. When the temperature reaches 80 it stops pumping in cold air. If there are sources inside adding to the heat like you mention besides the outside heat penetrating the building the air conditioning will continue to operate to bring the temperature down to the 80 degrees set on the thermostat. It's the opposite with a heating system.
-
Interesting that the NYT said yesterday that tourists' travel patterns are starting to shift with the intense heat waves in Southern Europe which really gathered steam last summer(pun intended). They were trying this summer to change their timing away from July, August to the shoulder season on both ends. It mentioned that Spain had more airconditioning in tourist facilities than Britain, France and Italy but didn't mention the temps were set at 80 degrees min.in Madrid. Another case of read the fine print, it seems, if you can find it. Lol

No idea but if they had asked me, I would have done the job "pro bono".

Those are words of comfort that the vaccine will not harm you. Nothing to say about it's efficacy since it hasn't been used against Monkeypox in any significant way for decades, if ever.
-
C and D responses would appear to me to be pure speculation as the vaccine has only only be available for less then two months and there has not been sufficient time to test their efficacy through mass testing. That will take at least up to a year like the Covid vaccines.
-
I thought I had addressed this in previous posts. Not much data. Only a study done in 1988. May offer some protection. Better get the vaccine as a booster. Even if effective, the new vaccine doesn't offer 100 percent protection. Might reduce severity of disease if contracted despite vaccinations in past. Hey I'm just a layman. Not a medical expert. I just read a lot. Take no info off TV. Sir BillyBob seems to be more expert. But can be tough to get through the medical- scientific jargon he uses.

I imagine some could never learn. -
I just read an article in the NYT that clarified the 85 percent figure of protection against Monkeypox in people who had smallpox vaccinations in childhood. It was data derived from a small population during a Monkeypox outbreak in 1988. The article went on to say that for many aspects of the current outbreak, we are operating in a data free zone. Consideration is being given to delaying the second dose because of shortages, something New York and some other places have already decided, and also cutting the dosage by one fifth and administering the shot between the levels of skin rather than under it. Again data are not clearly available to show these are as effective as two full doses for those never having had any smallpox vaccine in their lives, which is the case for most under 50.

I won't be going as I think it could become a super spreader event for Monkeypox. From my sampling of escorts in Montreal recently, not all have been vaccinated and seemed unconcerned. And a lot of Toronto and other escorts also attend this event annually and are doing so again. -
My understanding is that there has been no study done whether vaccines for smallpox in childhood confer any lasting protection against Monkeypox , which is a less virulent form of smallpox. The vaccine I received several weeks ago is used for smallpox since there is no specific one for Monkeypox, as I understand. I used the term booster because I have already had two smallpox vaccines and there may be some residual effect in my body. Interestingly, the first innoculation at 7 was from the vaccine which was scratched on the shoulder and left a mark. At 18 I got a different vaccine which I believe was similar to the formulation used today, a shot in the arm. I have the card from that vaccination and the one from three weeks ago.

I read the recipe instructions and while the concoction sounds delicious, it calls for adding salt three times during the various steps of mixing the ingredients. Way too much for me. I find this the case with these kinds of dishes ordered at restaurants, where the salt is larded on. Too bad because I can't tolerate it for health reasons.
