  1. The Biden Administration today called Monkeypox a national health emergency. With 7000 confirmed cases and Canada having around 700 I am wondering when Canada will follow suit. The vaccination response has been better here in Canada though and gay men who want one can get it easily and readily, no questions asked besides your basic stats. There seem to be many more hoops and restrictions in many parts of the US altho in some cases people are already booking second shots. A hit and miss situation it appears to an outsider, which maybe the emergency declaration is meant to address.
  2. That's tough to watch. I recognize him as an escort on RM from several years ago named Silver Steel, I think. In our gay community we are all walking on eggshells, which I somehow foresaw on May 18th when I started this thread. I haven't been able to avoid the anxiety as I continue to hire, albeit with some new protocols in place. I will only hire someone who has been vaccinated, which thankfully has been easier in the major cities in Canada. I look out for any skin lesions and only have sex with the lights on. But the anxiety remains, even though I had two vaccines when I was young and a booster 4 weeks ago. We just need to keep trucking.
  3. Drunken to excess, alcohol is a poison. In moderation I have no issues with it.

He has an odd line in his ad. "Versatile-bottom if it matters."

  6. Shouldn't this thread be under Mens Health?

Its interesting that after I first checked his ad he looked at my profile on RM and then when I checked again to see if the bad reviews were gone he looked at my profile again, twice in the same day. When I just looked again at his ad he had blocked me. Lol. And I was defending him. Such gratitude.😒

You asserted in your previous post that the photos were stolen. Do you still stand by that, given the negative reviews have been taken off the site?
  9. That's a bit steep for Toronto. Good luck to him.

I'm confused by this thread. I just checked his ad and I am a premium client and in Canada so I can read the comments left by reviewers. He has one review, a 5 star and rave comments, including the Love icon. What gives?
  11. I would argue that the difference between my parent's generation and today is that the solid middle class then entailed a single earner family that could afford a nice house in a good neighbourhood, one or two cars replaced every three or five years, a vacation home and private clubs for sports or other activities. Today all these things require both parents working.
  12. I'm currently reading Rebellion in the Mohawk Valley by Gavin Watt (2002). Its a detailed account of the St. Leger expedition in 1777 which tried to put down the American Revolution in that part of upper New York State that was largely inhabited by Indians and intrepid settlers who had experienced the French Indian War two decades earlier. Here in Eastern Canada where I live we are still dealing with the fallout of those conflicts as many Mohawks who aligned themselves with the British eventually migrated north to Canada to escape retribution from the victorious American rebels or Patriots, depending on your viewpoint.
  13. Thanks for clarifying that. I thought incompatible was going to be a hatchet job.
  14. This I can attest to. 40 years ago I was living on Europe and I met this very tall Norwegian who had an incredible grower. It had all this loose skin when it was flaccid but when fully erect was 11x8. A true monster. So he also had huge feet, I think size 15 in Canadian sizes. He told me he had a hard time getting nice shoes. So I bought him a pair when I was back home on a visit and gave them to him. He repaid the favour by fucking me silly.
  15. I read the obit this morning in Toronto's Globe & Mail. It seems he had a fairly decent life after recovering from his early success as a child star and the almost inevitable letdown immediately following that in his 20's. He appears to have kept his good looks late into life. That indicates he did not fall into a life of dissipation consumed by drugs and or alcohol.
  16. Reading the LA Blade article it is clear that MPX will spread like wildfire in LA. Reminds me of how HIV spread in the gay community in the early 1980's, to which I was a witness in San Francisco and elsewhere.
  17. I consult RM regularly and am a premium client. I sometimes read negative reviews which are followed up with a reply from the provider. The replies that stand out and win my sympathy are those that explain the situation in a non-inflamatory way and give the other side of the story. Then potential clients are left to judge for themselves. To me its the best way to handle this if RM is unwilling to remove the review. Your many 5 star reviews will speak for themselves.
  18. I don't think it is sufficient for a client to assume an escort has been vaccinated for MP. Its always best to ask. Another point in the CBC report was that the feds have released 75000 doses to the provinces but to date only 27000 have been administered. As SirBillyBob has reported, there was no-one in the clinic in the Gay Village recently except 22 bored clinic staff. Sometimes gay men and their associates can be their own worst enemies.
  19. I was referring to the public relations aspect of the announcement of his death. Not his actual death nor the public reaction to his demise.
  20. Heard on the CBC news just now that Monkeypox cases are increasing rapidly in Toronto and will soon catch up with Quebec, where they are mostly in Montreal. I just got back from Toronto and found that while some escorts that I communicated with had taken their shot, others were completely blasé. Those latter told me they had no intention of getting one. And they all advertise on RM. I think we will see more escorts declaring their vaccination status for MP on RM the same way as for covid before too long.
  21. Sort of a messy end, isn't it.
  22. It was obviously a mistake for the Times not to have checked the reports of Dow's death on social media. I would have thought that the department that is responsible for running obituaries has procedures in place to verify actual deaths before publishing an obit. It is a different matter for the newspaper to report a death as a news item. That can be easily corrected and such corrections appear almost daily in any major newspaper that claims to be a reliable source of news. I can't even recall the last time an obituary was recalled. Definitely embarrassing.
  23. The Times has now withdrawn the obituary.
  24. I felt the same way when Ricky Nelson died in 1985. Interestingly, the two stars look somewhat similar, especially the hair. I even remember when I was where I learned that Ricky had died in a plane crash. It was a headline in a newspaper in the lobby of a hotel in Acapulco, where I was on vacation with my bf.
  25. The WHO has now declared Mpox to be a global emergency, the same level of concern they declared for Covid in late January 2020. This should result in greater efforts world wide to contain the spread of the virus. In my view 2 months has been wasted in responding to this new public health threat. On May 18 I flagged this issue on this forum. Thankfully there were those here in Canada who reacted more quickly, but not at the national level. Quebec was first out of the gate. But better late than never I suppose.
