I've visited NYC at different times of the year over 5 decades and have certain impressions of the gay life over that time. Obviously things change but the seasons don't. To me fall and spring are great times to visit because there is a lot going on generally. Around Christmas and New Years its also busy. In the dead of winter a lot go south. Many escorts make their way to sunnier destinations. In the dead of summer I think many head to the seaside, places like PTown and Fire Island. The heat can get oppressive in the city. There will always be someone around but the choice may not be great in these down periods.
