Be mindful to do your scheduled maintenance! Mt father purchased a  Chevrolet Bel-Air coupe off the show room floor in 1953, kept it in first-class condition, and,  at the time of his death some forty years later, the car was ticking right along without missing a beat.

What happened to that well kept 1953 vehicle when your dad passed away?  I’d love to think that someone somewhere is still taking care of it.

  2. Jess Stern, the author of The Sixth Man: A Startling Investigation of the Spread of Homosexuality in America, seems to have been prescient. proclaiming in 1961 that "one out of every six men in America is a homosexual."  I remember this book well, since a professor in one of the sociology courses I took in college assigned it as required reading at just the moment when I was beginning to ponder my own sexuality.  Although I questioned his estimate at the time, what I took away from the book was that I was far from being alone in my attraction to men and that my professor wanted people like me to know this.

I suspect that the increase in those who identify themselves as LGBT from 2012 to 2020, as Gallup reports, does not document some seismic shift, but simply reflects the number of people who are now willing to to reveal their orientation openly .

  3. I usually scroll through the Unread Site Content to see what's new.  Since the introduction of favorite photos from previous albums, continuity is no longer maintained, at least for me.  For instance, today, I scrolled normally until I reached posts from eight hours ago.  Then, suddenly, I found myself in a series of photos from June 2018 with no apparent way to pick up where I left off in the Unread Content.  Is there a fix to this?  Am I doing something wrong?

  4. The three words below Pedro's belly button appear to say "Never Alone A Cuckold" in Arabic.  Not at all clear what he intends to convey, but it does tell us that he must be a member of the very large Brazilian-Arab community.

  5. Secrets was indeed on Half Street SW from 2009 to 2020 after being forced to move from Its original O Street SE location to make room for the new Nationals baseball park.   It closed for good in 2020 as the “Buzzard Point” area underwent redevelopment in conjunction with construction of the new home of the DC United soccer team at Audi Field.  The building in which it was located was indeed torn down.

This photo, taken at roughly the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Las Palmas Avenue in Hollywood, brings back a memory of the road not taken.

In 1961, I spent the summer after my freshman year of college in Los Angeles.  One fine day, I was walking on Sunset Boulevard and noticed a man in a vehicle following me.  I went around the block and he continued to follow me. I knew enough about life even then to recognize what was going on, but I had not yet come to terms with my sexuality.  To escape my pursuer, I ducked into the Blessed Sacrament Church in the photo.

After college, I married and had children.  It was not until many years later that I accepted that I was bisexual.  I often wonder what course my life would have taken had I accepted the “ride”  the stranger was offering me at that tender age…..

  7. Ah, yes, THE WEB!  Gone, but not forgotten, even after ten years.  I hope that someone will open a similar venue once Covid passes.  Here's a review I wrote in March 2011:

The Web advertises as an Asian boy bar. However, as previous threads have indicated, its dancers are usually multi-ethnic and multi-racial with a good mix of smooth and buff body types. It is a treasure trove for twink lovers, a deliciously sleazy version of the long gone and much regretted Rounds, with a more intimate scene around the bar than LeBoyz or Club 20. On three visits within the past month, I've met a slim, sexy, cultured all-American boy, a hot Brazilian boy with a swimmer's build, and a very cute Russian boy. For $20 a pop, lap dances have told me all that I need to know about them, including their equipment, proclivities, degree of enthusiasm, and availability.

Vadim Black. a favorite of mine, not surprised to find you like him too - I think we have very similar tastes.

I wonder why someone from Russia or Eastern Europe would have the Arabic word for faith (îmân) tattooed above his pubes.
