His friend's rates say nothing about him, except to give an idea about someone who he can work with, and whose abilities he justifiably admires.  I get that a lot of posters find IVLHV to be too expensive, and that they make all sorts of statements about "better” guys (unnamed) for much less while those who actually did see him uniformly found him exceptional, and consistent with this provider's description.

So, I'd say your rant was not only long, but it really failed to demonstrate "constradictions" or anything to suggest the add is misleading.  You don't like the other guy's rates.  Don't hire him.  No need to manufacture controversy because you think a guy is overpriced.

If you read surrounding posts, you'll see that "bumchucket” link is to an account of the poster, not the person discussed by the poster.

Correct.  He was on the Tyra talk show. In threads like this, it would avoid confusion to be specific about who we're referring to in a specific post.

That's happened a lot recently.  Several brand new posters, each either promoting an lightly (or un) reviewed guy or trashing one.

Hooboy ran the site effieciently.  Reviews posted 7 days a week by 6 am EST.  Any deviation was usually due to acts of god as in a tsunami and loss of internet connection.  There were no lengthy breaks without explanation or an announced duration.

So you are suggesting we falsely review someone we've not met based on your word. When a client thinks a provider has falsified (or just removed) a review we go nuts.

I also got an RM chat from him.  Said he was new and looking for clients.  I didn't reply in part because I found it odd, and in part b/c we are not located anywhere near one another.

I'm assuming Cariolis is writing about Hooboy.  I think his background was in radio, but others no doubt know more.  My sense was that Hooboy didn't need or take money from the site.

Huh?  No mention of a deposit or advance.  Also, you've misquoted the ad text.  He clearly says available on certain days before 10 on short notice and w/o an appointment, but requires an appointment for after 10 pm because he usually turns phone off at 10 pm.

I don't think so.  The tattoo is positioned mostly under his arm.  In the pics where it's not evident that's likely because of angles of shots, etc.  It's also possible the tat is recent, although he doesn't look older in some pics than others.

Guys like Gabriel have good reasons to include some older photos so readers can recognize them from whatever point in their careers they've seen.

Agreed. It breeds some resentment among the class of hirers, however, because the object of their desires don't really need them to support them financially. It does make you wonder why some of these guys continue to advertise on RM if they really only want scene partners. I suppose it's just a forum for them.

Perhaps I was unclear. We each perceive subjectively. There may be an objective "ideal", but each or us has our own sense of whether someone matches that, comes close, falls short, etc.

I guess I meant to say he is not classically “handsome” or “pretty” if you can say that for a male but he does have nice features and certainly would appeal to some with his looks. In my case I would hire him if he was closer to where I live. In the end we tend to be subjective about what looks attract us and for me, I am open to many different types.

I agree that we are subjective. Your "not classically handsome" may be my "classically handsome". I tend not to think of pretty and handsome as interchangeable. In Ivy's case, I found his features quite handsome, proportional, great eyes and lips, nice facial structure, etc. And I found his body to be a wonderland. Plus there's how he uses it.
