Yesterday I was playing tennis with an elderly white married couple from L.A. whom I have known for several years, who spent much of the time between games reminiscing about their social experiences with O.J. before the murders. They thought he was an extremely pleasant and intelligent man, and were shocked by the murders, although they had no trouble accepting the claim that he was guilty.

My spouse is the oldest of four brothers; he and the next oldest are both gay. The two younger brothers are the straight ones. I always found it interesting that the two older brothers had a much stronger physical resemblance to one another than to the younger brothers, while the two younger brothers strongly resembled one another. A stranger seeing a photo of the four of them together as adults is usually surprised that they are all children of the same parents. The older two look more like their mother (small and slender), while the younger two look like their father (big football linemen).

As we approach the 3rd anniversary of Daddy's passing, I want to acknowledge the great work on behalf of a small team of volunteers who keep this community active and thriving!  The days and weeks following daddy's death were fraught with uncertainty - and this community nearly perished.   This community pulled together and found our way through - got access to the site code, migrated the site to new technology, and developed a new support structure.  We even came up with a new name for our community!  While every volunteers' contributions are valued, I wanted to especially acknowledge @RadioRob our tireless webmaster.   He does his work with no fanfare, no drama and almost no downtime; and he seeks no recognition.   @RadioRob we are grateful!     ....CompanyOfMen

It's just weird because Taylor Swift (whom I don't particularly care for) is one of the most famous women in the world and she started her career a few years before Beiber.

Update: I've lost some 30+ lbs. It's been fairly consistent weight loss over 6+ months
I've gotten the lecture from well intended coworkers about unknown long term side effects with new medications. My response is simple: I know what the long term side effects will be if I don't make this change from my own experience: Sleep apnea, lower back issues, high triglycerides, high blood pressure meds, multiple abdominal hernias, family history of early cardiac death / disabling strokes.  
My doctor asked if I have a specific goal in mind, I just want to be sub obese 5'8" 180s. 
Will I continue to be on this drug for maintenance after goal weight?  Unknown. I'll make the decision later in the year with input from my doctors. 
For me, this continues to be the right decision with manageable side effects.  

WW bought a telehealth company last year and are now offering GLP1s. She would be the perfect spokeswoman. I wonder what she has up her sleeve.

Thank you for asking - I am feeling a whole lot better. I went to another chiropractic treatment and my low back pain/leg pain has settled down quite a bit. I’m supposed to return for an X-Ray to determine the cause of the nerve root pain, but I think I will wait it out. I think I need to stretch and get some movement in my low back and legs so it doesn’t get too tight. I’m in the car about 3 hours a day for my commute to/from work and that’s been the cause for alot of my physical discomfort 

I’m not buying it. "Once every 2 weeks"? It doesn’t pass the smell test. 
That article reads more like a stupid NYC plastic surgery PR stunt than reality.

With women many would say "they had it coming", "cult of victimhood", etc

How are you feeling? I'm really sorry you're in pain and that the chiro visit didn't help. I had a multi-level extrusion (burst disc) and protrusion on my neck, and I had horrible pain that radiated down my arm.
See if you can get a referral to a pain medicine doctor, preferably one trained in anesthesia.  They can give you an epidural steroid injection which will help for a few weeks. PT will help too though it's hard at first. It will get better though .

How do you guys handle a low back strain before being able to see a chiropractor? I don’t even know what I did to trigger the muscle, but it is super painful to stand or walk without a limp. I have a heating pad, but the muscle doesn’t feel like it’s relaxing. 

My doctor stuck his finger up my ass last week and poked around, but he said the prostate didn't feel abnormal to him (he is gay, so he has felt his share of normal prostates). But he still wants me to have various tests to find out what has been causing some recent discomfort in my abdomen.

Between the soy and scallions, you must have a tough time with Chinese food!

Yup! Beano tablets take away some of the issues I have with soy, but onions/scallions still set me off. I can order food prepared without onions or scallions, though.

I really hate onions.  In any form.  You know how some people have a gene that makes cilantro taste different to them?  I must have that with onions because there’s no way in HELL they taste the same to me as they do to people who like or even tolerate them.  But my point is, it’s an incredibly inconvenient food aversion to have since onions seem to sneak their way into the majority of dishes.
And if I have this issue with onions, I can’t even imagine what it must be like to be deathly allergic to peanuts, or highly intolerant to gluten, or have an any medical reaction to a very ubiquitous and often hidden food.
Who of you who have these allergies/intolerances/aversions?  Any stories of a time it was particularly inconvenient or worse?
