  1. Back in March, who thought we’d be here now? Thanks to all the mods who’ve kept the lights on. Merry Christmas from the site’s resident Persian kitten.
  2. I think there are very few Kinsey 0.0s out there. This is a girl you just met? Did you detect signs of interest from her? If so, why not just ask her out?
  3. The Town House still has a piano bar. The bar’s longtime pianist, Rick Unterberg, passed away at the start of the pandemic. I went back after it reopened, and it wasn’t the same. The new pianist plays old pop hits instead of show tunes, and the sense of community was mostly gone. Maybe things have changed since I visited.
  4. Ugh. This is a him problem, as the kids say.
  5. @azdr0710has gone to the dark side.
  6. It’s been a year since BVB passed away. I still miss his sense of humor and wordiness. Edit: “Wordliness” not “wordiness”
  7. “I love you.” “I care about you.” Even hearing others say these things is awkward for me.
  8. How many times are couples allowed to have sex before they take “no” for an answer?
  9. I wouldn’t do implant an embryo before testing it for chromosomal abnormalities (PGD), which would also confirm that the embryo belongs to the couple.
  10. Big crowds flow like liquids, complete with waves. https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/science.aat9891 Or this summary.
  11. Did you give any recitals? For me, it was fun until that point. Now, I constantly feel that I’m letting down others. (How I ended up at this point without being any good is a long story.) Next time, I’ll try crochet.
  12. Oh FFS. I was empathizing with him Any patient would be frustrated after hearing what the Stanford doctor said, particularly if the untreated clot had lasting consequences on the function of his leg.
  13. Like I said, I’m not judging whether the original team committed malpractice. I’m simply taking Rudtnate’s Stanford doctor at his word. Whether that doctor is correct or not, it’s incredibly frustrating to hear something like that.
  14. @LIguyI’m really sorry to hear about this situation. I hope you get better care from now on. @RudynateI know nothing about the malpractice side. But it’s incredibly frustrating to hear that your previous medical team screwed up, especially when the mistake is consequential.
  15. It turns out to be a gatekeeping mechanism for the entertainment industry. I feel like an extra on A Chorus Line.
  16. I’ve taken up a pursuit in an area in which I had no previous experience. I’m not sure how I feel about it. I unintentionally chose a competitive, careerist venue, and I only intended to do if for a few weeks. Months later, I’m still here. It’s a rocky, uphill climb and an exercise in humiliation. At its best, it can be fun though. Anyone else?
  17. PT is the gold standard of conservative care, but I found that it intensifies flares. It tended to flare it. It was more effective in preventing and minimizing recurrences.
  18. I’m sorry you’re going through this, Charlie. A few years ago, I had raducular pain from the neck, amd it was just awful. I wrote about it here, of course. I recommend the epidural. It’s safer in the lower back than it is for the neck. Technique matters when driving a needle, so if you go this route, find someone with significant volume.
  19. And there are lots of men who say they expect thrice-daily sex w/18 year olds for nothing. It all comes out in the wash when the market clears.
  20. School nurses’ offices have long provided them for free. Such items can be expensive and an inability to access them can make it difficult to concentrate on learning. They provide free lunches for the same reason.
