Anyone else watching this year's event? A number of crushable performers this year, but none more so -- in my view -- than Theo Van (Cyprus)...

Is it common for providers to ask for a client’s pic?
+ RyanDean replied to hwic04's topic in Questions About Hiring
Yeah. Doesn't happen a lot and I always say no -- mostly because I don't like the feeling that @FaustOust described as "auditioning" to be a client. I'm happy to provide an accurate description, and arrange to meet in a public spot, and sometimes I even mention of my handle/profile here or reference to one of my regular hires IF the gent seems mostly wanting to confirm that I'm legit. But I hire to avoid the self-esteem hazards of cruising so I am absolutely not inclined to pay for that as an unadvertised extra... -
Agreed. Though I've not yet seen Boop or Smash, I'd prioritize MaybeHappyEnding or (my favorite musical of last season, now arriving to Broadway) DeadOutlaw...

He seems to prefer to use the RM messaging system. As he said to me recently: "I like to chat here first then open to move to text..." Since I was on the road and don't use the RMen website on my phone, it complicated the communication/back-and-forth for me, so our interaction stopped there.

That's my impression too. In addition to being ridiculously hot, Chase is very organized and sensible, so I have high hopes...

As an FYI: the (highly recommended) ChaseVirgo is hosting an intriguing new party/event in Philly on Saturday 3/21. https://www.instagram.com/p/DF5u65DPcXX/ Unfortunately, due to a prior commitment, I'm unable to attend. But here's hoping it becomes a regular thing.

One point of possible relevance: in the reported summaries I've read of the most recent demographic report from the BroadwayLeague, it doesn't appear that they sort the databy borough, esp re theatregoing habits of folks in NYC. So perhaps the producers are overcorrecting for tri-state commuters rather than those from boroughs other than Manhattan.
-
I think you misunderstand the notion of "commuter"... Plenty of theatregoers live in the great beyond while trekking in to work in the city. As for me, I'm in the city 2-3x a week on weekdays for work or other appointments and, when deciding whether to catch a show or just head home, an earlier curtain time makes a big difference. I can also attest to the many playbills I routinely see in the hands and pockets of folks waiting to board the 10pm trains back to Jersey...

Theatre producers are very alert to the fact that "commuter" theatregoers (those who live beyond NYC in other parts of NY or in NJ/CT) have simply not returned to their pre-pandemic theatregoing habits. Moreover, the periodic surveys that they're constantly sending out have confirmed that those theatregoers are less inclined to choose a show that has a later start time or longer running time that will require them to take a later train/bus. So they're not only thinking about NYers or tourists, but also those dreaded bridge/tunnel/burb-dwellers (like me) who have historically made up a substantial subset of the regular ticket-buying audience... As for me, I love a 7/730 curtain as much as I love an 8pm curtain. I also love an 830pm curtain and a 5pm curtain. I love a 2pm matinee as much as I love a 1pm or a 3pm matinee -- whether on Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday or even Thursday. I just wish there was a theatre listing service that allowed you to sort the available options by curtain-time...

Strikes me as a likely "house party" situation, not something in an actual bar or event space. BuffDaddy runs comparable pop-up events in Philly, with the location info shared only through direct communication.

2024 "Professional Services" Expenditures
+ RyanDean replied to Boaxxx's topic in Questions About Hiring
I had what felt like a relatively light -- if quite gratifying -- year and my total nearly matches yours, especially after I factor in my forays to Adonis/BuffDaddy events. But that's typically not counting hotel/etc costs, because hiring is "an extracurricular" and not the primary purpose for most of my travel. And though I'd happily join the #DesperatePerv crew, I suspect I'm more of a #ContentedlyAveragePerv... -

I would be surprised if he were to take things on the road. Also FWIW he's based a ways north of Seattle proper, so I suspect some advance notice/planning is advisable.

Quick update. Decided to take one for the team and just book a meetup with MysticGentlemen. Happy to report that he's legit. His pics are accurate (though he looks better in person) and his self-description captures his vibe well. Nice guy. Effective communication. Definitely recommend.

Intrigued by this gent: https://rent.men/MysticGentlemen But there's not a lot to go on... Before I reach out, thought I'd post here to see if anyone might share any experience/insight or whether anyone might apply some sleuthing skills to the case.

Thinking toward a quick work trip to Seattle in a few weeks & looking to hire while I'm there. (ScorpKing would have been perfect but, just my luck, he's recently relocated to SoCal...) But nobody else is emerging as the clear next contender SO if any y'all have any recommendations for personable, legit gents... PLEASE sing their praises here.

Anything going on this Saturday in new york city?
+ RyanDean replied to Jasrb36's topic in Male Strip Clubs
@Jasr3200: The Adonis Nude Party email for this Saturday night just went out... So that's a confirmed option. If you're not on the Adonis eblast list, here's the signup link: https://adonislounge.com/nyc/contact/ (Followup emails typically go out on Friday and Saturday.) -

The BluRay is set to be released on October 1, so I suspect paid streaming will likely be available around then as well.

Nev Schulman broke his neck in bike accident

Yep -- the hospital socks put on me recently were "double sided" as well... -
Ha! Now I'm wondering if we were in the same row, @cany10011!
