In principle, I would not be opposed to paying an "appointment confirmation fee" but, yeah, it's the logistics that introduce all kinds of problems: non-anonymous payment mechanisms; inconsistency as to whether the deposit is part of the appointment fee or on top of it; the actual amount of the deposit; no mechanism for when the provider does the ghosting... I will say that I have considered such a fee when the gent adds a caveat like "for first-time clients" because that seems both reasonable and responsible (and like it's not a hustle). But even then it's the anonymity of the payment mechanism that remains my primary sticking point. And can you imagine how many fakers would glom onto "advance deposits" as their primary grift were they to become the norm?

(not sure if this belongs in the culture forum, so please feel free to move as necessary) Anyone here follow interesting Twitch.TV channels? I've recently started checking in on a favorite porn guy's workout streams on twitch and am inclined to add a few more streams to my "followed channels" list. (I just added the FalconNakedSword channel, which they appear to use to stream occasional events.) I should note that I'm emphatically not a gamer/gaymer (and gaming streams mostly just overwhelm or confuse me) SO I'm mostly interested in culture, performance or fitness streams, though all recommendations are welcome.

I don't think "fitting" the "prototypical older businessman daddy image" matters much to providers. That said, making sure YOU are feeling comfortable SHOULD be a priority for a skilled/responsible provider. I suspect hiring a duo might be less complicated than hiring with a friend but I might also suggest that you seek feedback here on a few providers of interest to you. It might help to identify the right gent to ease you through your anxiety about taking the plunge.

In addition to laying out some "rules of engagement" from the outset (perhaps especially including boundaries around private time), I might recommend pre-scheduling some kind of regular check-in routine for you to together discuss what's working (and what's not), so things can adapt/evolve in ways that work for both of you. (You don't want to get into one of those low-grade bad roommate situations where either of you are biding time until the three months are over.)
