The “date” is set. We are meeting at the gym and he is driving us to the game. I regretted the two times I hired without seeing a face pic. Both were well-reviewed providers here. Both touted their good looks on their ads and websites. The first turned out to be a lookalike of Elmer Fudd. The second, a masseur in the LA area, had the hair and face of an unattractive version of He Man. The second one also refused to close the window blinds to his massage space, exposing me to his neighbors while he blabbed endlessly about his love of art cinema. Caveat emptor.

Quite literally, you are selling yourself as the product.  Your face is a huge contingent of that sale.  While I understand not putting your face pic in your general listing, it's definitely unique to say you 'never' send a face pic before meeting a client.
My view is that you will not have as well-rounded a business as you might have without that face pic.  If you're willing to give up a decent chunk of what could be incredibly profitable repeat clients, then so be it.  That is your call.
In your initial post, you say it's very personal to give someone a face pic.  This is a personal business.  Get comfortable.

Our interests change over time, I think. When I first started hiring, I sought guys my own age and mostly went after the available ones in my area. Didn’t matter if they identified as gay or straight or even identified period. 25+ years later, I definitely have specific qualities, styles and characteristics in mind. Could be that I have more $$ to spend and can be more selective. Now that life is somewhat normal again, my “to do” list is ever-growing. Finally time to give my right arm a rest.

The self-loathing is obvious when you have a poster saying things along the lines of “all gay men are less masculine than straight or bisexual men.”
This “all or nothing” mentality often results from objectifying masculine men who don’t share one’s “dirty little secret” when they’re young.
Speaking for myself, I’m what most gay men would call (sometimes derisively) as alpha male, hyper-masculine. (That doesn’t mean I don’t like to “flip the script” behind closed doors and give someone else the control sometimes). 
I know plenty of metrosexual-type guys who are avowedly straight, and have had more than my share of bromances with straight guys.
When I go to a party where I’m not known, people always ask if I’m military or a cop. Frankly,I could care less because I am what I am, but for someone to just generalize that straight or bisexual men are intrinsically more masculine than the whole of the gay male population...and the disdain for the gay community that such an opinion often hides...does, absolutely, belie some kind of self-loathing. 
It’s not an act for me, it’s who I am. It’s who I grew up to be.

I want to express thanks to the admins of the site who have not locked down or deleted this thread. I know that not everyone agrees with my viewpoint, I have received a bunch of hate notes, someone tried to dox me (LOL), and a few guys had enough guts to message their opposing viewpoints on the thread. Regardless of whether we agree or not, I am grateful this forum exists and we can have discussions that are meaningful and productive. It serves as a resource, and the admins have shown that they understand that purpose. So- thanks for this safe space to have these kind of chats, as well as a place to find out which hot masseur gives the best HE. LOL, again.

I really respect all those providers who see well known politicians and celebrities; yet keep their mouths shut (mostly).  There is something Lawyer/client about the arrangement.  It's not contractual of course, more of an unsaid rule that both parties usually stick to.  Many providers seem far more honorable than some of us clients, when it comes to respect and confidentiality.  I would not be sorry to see some of those Washington liars and cheats be revealed for what they are, especially those who openly work against our community. As I've said previously, out of an abundance of caution, I've backed up most of the content on Daddy's server. The first priority was getting the forum itself back online which has been done. I've gotten to the point where I've been able to tackle restoring the review site.
 
This was MUCH more difficult as there was a bunch of things coded specifically for Daddy's server. I managed to get the data copied over and to import the mySQL database associated with the site. Once I did that, nothing really worked so I had to go look into the code to see what was going on. This involved changing a bunch of files to reflect where files are located on the new server.
 
It's not perfectly restored (meaning some of the commentary and news links are not fully working), but all of the reviews seem to be working.

I do not plan to try and maintain the system Daddy used to run the reviews. It is simply too much to try to manually do. So the plan for now is for the archive to stay as-is for historical purposes. At a later time, I plan to introduce a new review site that would collect the info and allow for a more streamlined method of management. Once it's ready, we'll need some volunteers to help us manually migrate reviews over into the new long-term tool. Once we're ready to do that, I'll post here asking for some help with all of the copy/pasting that is going to be involved.

A few years ago I booked a guy in Boston for 2 hours, with very little prior chit chat. His online profile had a very jock/bro/guy next door vibe.
