I know you're experienced with this hobby and have a long history here in the forum. And his replies and posts are, of course, unprofessional and immature. But I never reply to a provider that his rates are "too much" or "out of my budget". It just smacks of a haggling client looking for a deal. Instead, I simply thank them for their time and replies and say that I've made other plans or similar wording.
