  1. I'm sure you will like Bryan Knight. He used to be based in NYC, but he still comes here. Big, beefy, sensual, very nice guy: https://rentmasseur.com/BryanKnight
  2. I'm a little surprised that you gave him $200 for a 20-25 minute massage. However, I can understand that you decided that discretion was the better part of valor. I once went to a masseur whose photos showed a really hot body, and they were 100% accurate. However, he ended with a HE after 20 minutes, and I gave him $60, half of the stated rate of $120. (This was about 15 years ago.) He said, "You still owe me $60," and I said, "Not for 20 minutes, I don't." He became angry, and blocked the door when I tried to leave. So I became angry, and said,' "You're a cheat! I should call the cops on you!" Well, THAT worked, and he stepped aside, and I left. Perhaps that could have ended badly for me, and perhaps your experience might have ended badly, and you decided that $200 was worth the lesson you learned -- which was that taking the plunge is exactly that. But we appreciate your effort!
  3. One of the posts above directed us to "defeat photo fraud," an old post (2010, I think it was) by Glutes. I used to enjoy Glutes' comments on this message board, but he disappeared several years ago. Just seemed to vanish from the face of the earth. Glutes was one of the most perceptive and funny posters I have ever been privileged to read here. Definitely a guy I admired and would have liked to get to know. I wonder what happened to him? His disappearance was a great loss to this site!!
  4. I don't think there's a right or wrong answer here. Yes, the OP makes a lot of sense - - for him. Many of us use touch as a signal to what we would like the spa masseur to do. I say SPA masseur, because clients usually cannot come out and say what they want, AND expect an answer. It's entirely different with a private masseur who's not an employee of a place that can be closed by the authorities.
  5. PS I didn't remember that Bea Lillie was in this show. Of course, she was Madame Arcati, so Tammy Grimes must have been the departed (and returned) wife. I think Rex Harrison was in the movie, "Blithe Spirit," but I don't remember who played that part in the musical.
  6. I recently came across a CD by Steve Ross, which I didn't even know I had, and one of the songs was "Home, Sweet Heaven," sung by Tammy Grimes as Madame Arcati in the musical version of Noel Coward's "Blithe Spirit." It's a wonderful patter song. I don't think I've heard it since I saw the show in 1964. I'm sure you'll all like it! https://www.google.com/search?rls=aso&client=gmail&q=Home%20Sweet%20Heaven&authuser=0
  7. As one who always advocates tipping well, I have to say that I think NYMasssageAddict is on the money (no pun intended) in his calculations of a spa masseur's income. They probably don't work 52 weeks a year, and lots of them don't work 6 days a week, but the numbers seem to be fairly accurate.
  8. If you're introduced to your masseur at a spa, and you decide that he isn't your type, you're right -- you'd have a very embarrassing moment if you asked for someone else. I really don't see how you could worm your way out of that. I think that if you asked the spa in advance, you wouldn't get much help. The best thing to do is to ask here, on this message board. You'll get much more honesty in the comments and opinions.
  9. I just got good seats for December. (I didn't ask for earlier dates, so they may be available also.) You can call Telecharge or go to theinheritanceplay.com They have an ad on the back cover of the most recent New Yorker.
  10. https://rentmasseur.com/OnaWhym Quite a name! His ad makes no sense at all. Does anyone know anything about him? OnaWhym? For $160?
  11. The cherry on top must be the extra $$$. I used to see a masseur (and it's been more than five years ago) whose rate was $220/hour, and $330 for 90 minutes -- no discount for a longer massage. I was happy to pay it, and saw him for many massages. If a masseur charges $220, and let's say the going rate is $150, might not the first masseur be worth 50% more than most others? I'd just go without a massage for a longer interval after seeing my higher-priced guy. Think about it; it makes some sense.
  12. I have enjoyed Bryan Knight's massages and personality for years, but it appears that he is no longer in NY. His ad says he's based in San Francisco. I just clicked on the link above, and see that he's visiting NYC.
  13. He did not reply to my email asking for his rates.
  14. I don't agree. "Adding ten minutes to every apt to allow clients to shower and dress" might use up an hour of his time, but only if he was CONSTANTLY booked all day. He can use the ten minutes of your shower time to change the sheets, clean up, etc. I think that the smart thing for a masseur to do would be to give you the FULL 60 or 90 minutes on the table, and let you take your time to shower and dress. Yes, we're splitting hairs here, but he caused you enough annoyance to provoke a complaint here. As far as being early, even five minutes: don't do it. You were trying to be considerate, but if the previous client was late, that client SHOULD get his full 60 or 90 minutes, and you may be arriving at an awkward time. When I arrive early, I wait downstairs before ringing the bell. I went to a restaurant the other day, and they charged me $6 for iced tea. OK, a tad high, but then they charged me $6 for a refill. THAT irked me, and might be enough to cause me not to return. The ten minutes for shower time is similar to the charge for a refill. Yes, the restaurant has the right to charge me, and the masseur may have the right to include your shower time in his $180, but it creates ill will, and smart marketers won't do it.
  15. You can call Arjun at 646-262-3522 He took his ad down a month or two ago, and perhaps hasn't gotten around to putting it back.
  16. The Victor that I have seen many times at Utopia is not Asian.
  17. Arjun is back in NYC. He emailed me yesterday.
  18. There are quite a few masseurs who charge a lot for outcalls. I suppose they don't care to use public transportation, so they take a cab. There's a guy in Elmhurst, Queens who charges $40 extra to come to Manhattan and see me, which he could easily do on the subway. I won't pay it. That's his prerogative, and it's also mine. It's also yours.
  19. I just emailed him, asking for his rates. I think his reviews were written by his PR guy, or else he's a very skilled writer. Take a look at the last one, the short one. "Poignant and exquisite....." A hoot! Anyway, I love the photo of him ripping his shirt off. Very sexy! Yes, "bump!"
  20. Nibay, I assume you know that there's another thread on spas that's now on page 80-something. All you have to do is start at the end and work backwards. Most of your questions will be answered.
  21. Harry, you should take that as a compliment! He knew his wig might come off, but he risked the embarrassment because you were so sexy and irresistible! Not awkward at all, but satisfying for both of you.
  22. Diehard, did you ever see him again for a massage? After all, you said the first time was a winner!
  23. For those of you who have never heard "The Butler's Song" from "Enter Laughing' (which was known as "So Long, 174th Street" when it flopped on Broadway in 1974 -- with Bobby Morse as David Kolowitz), here's George S. Irving:
  24. RyanDean, I'm glad you enjoyed Gary -- seriously. That's what makes horse racing! I know there are plays, especially musicals, that are not for me, and I usually manage to avoid them -- and friends of mine have loved them. I'm a Nathan Lane fan, and that's why I got tickets for this immediately. Oh, well......
