I don't think this is actually true. If you are a bad actor who wants to rob/rape/hurt a provider and they have a photo of you, and you KNOW they have a photo of you, I think it is a influential factor as to whether you still want to do or that or not. I think there are other ways of getting an identity or being able to track a client but a photo is pretty quick and to the point way. I know when I send my face pic providers do seem to feel more comfortable with me.

I suspect not many providers are doing this purely for the enjoyment, but rather the generous money involved. I'd like to think it is an enjoyable way to make cash though!

For this reason I use Signal and or/Whatsapp as they both have the ability to send messages that cannot be screenshot and can be set to automatically disappear. I am not ugly I have no problem sending my pic, and I do like to see the face first. I agree with the OP that not showing face on a rentmen profile actually makes me like the person more - for all the reasons mentioned. I have found truth in this.

My first message is always 'hey is this xxxx?' I don't know why but I always get paranoid I put a number wrong or something as I view rentmen on my laptop not my phone. When they confirm I send a who/what/when/where message - stating a bit about me, what I am looking for, when I was looking to schedule, and where my hotel is. I have always received pretty good replies and not just one word answers. I think it shows I am legit and perhaps that leads to the responses. I pretty much only hire when I travel so I always reach out a few days earlier. If I get no reply I would move on another provider the next day or later that evening. I must confess I have never sent messages to 3 providers and then decided to rate the replies like the OP has. Surprised me to read people do that.

I have been looking for him for a while. I follow his twitter but I have been hesitant to hire due to him never showing face. I have decided to just go for the plunge and then I see his rentmen profile is down. If anyone here is a regular of his, are you able to ask if he is still seeing new clients or just focusing on his online work now only?

my requirements other than guys I find aesthetically pleasing - 1. No PNP. I find people who escort for drugs very unattractive, as well as unreliable. 2. Fluent in English. Communication is vital. Pure speculation on your part here. No video can be posted on these sites with out a consent form signed, and full identification submitted and verified by the sites.

I'm thinking it probably depends on how far in advance you are reaching out to them. I also travel a bit for work, and often check out what is on offer in the city I am heading to. I think a weeks notice is good - I message by text 'hey saw your profile, I will be in town next week, a bit about me - I am (insert height/weight/age/sexual position). do you have any time between Wednesday-Friday that works for you, and can you let me know your rates?" I have a lot of success with this formula. I think if you reach out with 'hello how are you?" then they reply and find out you are not looking until next month, they move on to people who are require more immediate attention. It's best to put it all out there upfront. If I don't get a reply for a day or two, I can move on to my next preference.

its so funny to me to see the OP make a comment like this. I had a dreadful and actually scary experience with a provider in a VERY similar way - I showed up and he was high on drugs, aggressive and threatening me if I did pay in full (I did pay in full, after 5 minutes and left) and posted here to warn others, and after I posted the warning about it @PileDriver admonished me, telling me I should be kinder/how dare I say this etc. He even wrote another big thread called "Ugly Clients and Providers With Substance Problems" about how we need to be kinder to drug addicts who threaten us. This has now given me the biggest chuckle. I guess he only gets upset or thinks people need warnings when it happens to him.
