The author was def butt hurt and offended - if he wasn't he would have said "that's ok, let them take that time slot. I'm not comfortable with a deposit to lock down a meeting and I will see you the day after." or the next day or whenever.
But he did not - he canceled the whole event and came on here to complain about it.
He was offended, jealous, and nose out of joint. you pick one, two, or all three.  It makes me understand why the providers are doing this more now.

I've seen lately on provider pages as well that in lieu of a deposit that if another provider on rentmen can verify you're a serious client that they'll waive the deposit fee. I'd rather go that route or suggest it as an alternative option with a provider.

this is so interesting. So if he said to the other interested parties "sorry I am booked at that time" then you cancel last minute- he has missed out on both bookings.
The fact that you don't even see that, and instead chose to be offended is pretty wild to me!
I think the provider probably dodged a bullet with you here. if you were serious about the booking you wouldn't mind sending a $20- $50 deposit to lock it in.

Thanks for this advice - I have been living my whole life talking to providers like pieces of shit until you told me to be nice to them. SMH. (that was a sarcastic joke just incase it wasnt noted)
I am nice to  EVERY service provider  - be it a waiter, shopkeeper, lawyer, doctor, or janitor.
I think you may not have intended too - but your comment has come off rather condescending and even perhaps as a WARNING: SAY NICE THIINGS OR ELSE.
I don't like the insinuation that if I ask about this provider, and a client's experience with them that I am somehow crossing the line of being disrespectful - or if anyone that replies with something less than favorable that they are also being disrespectful. I think your comment would scare off people who HAVE had time with him from advising me.  Anyone reading this feel free to DM me so as not to encur the wrath of azdr0710.
I actually don't mind seeing someone who has one or two bad reviews- for me it means all the reviews are real and I understand guys can have "off" days - but if they are high on drugs or have very outdated photos - this is important to me. I have seen guys before who just "phone it in" - one guy literally stared at the clock while we were spending time together and although he did look like his photos it was an awful experince.
I really like David's profile and will be in SF next week. NOT that I need to justify to you WHY I am asking about this guy - but there it is. This is why- there is no nefarious scheme to defame him - just an extar step before spending my money.
So my orginal question was  - do you have any info (previous names for forum searches) or experince - of not, no need to comment further.

It looks like he does, can’t be a coincidence. Not a good sign that he’s so secretive and changes name so often. A giant red flag for me.

I've noticed this when travelling and asked my regular boy about it - he showed me his phone and he had SEVEN bookings in a row that were canceled. he is a bottom so he had showered, not eaten that day, prepped and cleaned out - only to have them cancel sometimes 30 minutes beforehand.
He now says for new clients they can send deposit - anything from $5 or $20 just something.  if they are not comfortable with that - they can contact him on the day and if he is still available he will see them, but without deposit he wont lock anything down in advance.  Same day appointments only.
"When I book a table at a restaurant, doctor  or to see my hairdresser they take my CC details in advance and charge me cancelation fee if i don't show- I'm not doing that - just making sure people are serious about my time" he said.
I think either loads of fake bookings - or perhaps clients are hedging bets and booking two or three boys on the same day and taking the best one from that. Or maybe even other providers are setting up these fake bookings? who knows.  Either way, seven days of cancelations in a row is a lot.  I know in my job if i had that i would be looking at changing my business model.

When travelling i wouldn't mind locking in a booking with a $50 deposit- IF they have favourable reviews on RM and on here.

I think pretty much every provider would prefer people don't discuss their clients' experiences on a forum (unless it's some kind of glowing reference!).
Curious why this guy would seem to get a pass. Do they have some kind of influence or control over the posts?

Mostly good comments, but he prefers we don't talk about him here on the forum. Thus the name changes and lack of forum stuff. If he appeals, I don't think you'd have a problem meeting him. As always with anybody, be polite and respectful.

I always collect payment before i get to business with clients, if they want me to drive longer than 30 minutes I do ask for at a $50 deposit for gas

I get asked for deposits from some providers. If they seem legit, I’ll do a nominal one. I haven’t been burned yet, and I’ve never been asked for one after the initial meeting. I understand a request for one initially but once you’ve proven you’re not a flake, I don’t see the need for them.

I’ve never had a provider asked me for deposit, ever.
Why? My approach to them is also very serious, straightforward, and has a lot of substance behind it. I have a client profile with description and pictures. Reviews I have written are all on that profile. They’re visible to other providers. I give them my name and information about me and I ask meaningful questions of them.

All of the above carries weight when the provider is doing the mental math on the ROI for engaging with me. Apparently they’ve all decided, for a pure business perspective, than I’m a client that is serious and don’t require a deposit and it’s worked out very well all around.

YMMV. I’m sure there are providers out there with a very strict rule that they require a deposit from everyone. I just haven’t run into them.

i came on here to find out information about this provider, and thank god people replied to your comment - you are so in the wrong to post a review, and a comment like that it blows my mind.  You should be ashamed of yourself to try and hurt someone's business like that.  the fact that you are indignant is even more shocking,  wow.  You need to get a grip on reality - you have paid him NOTHING. you are not a client, he owes you NOTHING. he was polite enough to turn down your request in a straightforward and polite way and you come on a forum and try and deny him work. I hope other providers read this and steer clear of you.  You are piece of shit.

NYXboy reacted to + ThroatCummer in Anyone feel like a lot of providers are rude via text?
Just read through this entire thread, and there's a lot to unpack here. My $0.02 as a client:
Removing the hiring aspect from this, we all have to recognize there are people in the world who just are shitty in their approach to almost everything -- and that is the norm. If I had a nickel for every time someone said "Hi!" on one of the apps and nothing more I could buy a few new Macbooks. If you're going to approach anyone in life outside of real person-to-person interactions, come at it with substance. Actually, that can be said for face-to-face too.
That said, the provider took the initial step and posted an advertisement, so it's on the client to fully engage from there.  I have never sent less than three sentences that include my name, what I am looking for, and a genuine introduction. I find this is always well received and my no-response rate is only about 1%.
For me, I have all the time in the world and can make almost anything happen. I also don't really care about rates or prices as nothing is really off the table unless you're coming at me with $1,000/hour or something stupid like that. However, I am not one of those who is only looking for a one-hour sexual encounter and only into the mechanical aspect. I want to get a feel for a provider and our chemistry over text before committing to meeting up, however short or brief that might be. The 'back and forth' for me is part of the thrill, but I also try to disclose that in the beginning.  When I approach a provider, I let it be known that I am looking for a more meaningful longer-term arrangement, so their interactions with me are more of an investment on their part. I also fully understand they can't know I am serious about that until after our initial meeting.
I'm a pretty successful business owner and have invested eight figures in customer support. I know how fucking horrible "customers" (or clients in this case) can be overall, so all my interactions are from that lens.
This thread has been truly helpful.
