TonyDown got a reaction from + Charlie in What's your earliest memory?
I remember being being bathed in the kitchen sink. I was small enough to fit the length of the sink so I was likely very young.

TonyDown got a reaction from + Charlie in Are YOU better off now than you were before COVID-19?
Financially yes. My job kept rolling along.
Socially, not, e.g. some social events I used to attend never re-started. Casual gatherings like going to the cinema don't seem to happen like they used to either.

Fresh baked cookies! Friendly staff.
Leave a nice tip. They all work hard and share it altogether.

I'm in the minority.
I will watch movies like My Policeman and Benediction again but Saltburn, no. Big disappointment.
That said Jacob Elordi will host SNL tonight.

TonyDown got a reaction from marylander1940 in Hollywood Reporter lists '10 Best Movies' of 2023
The gossip rags claim Timothee Chalamet was considered for the lead in Saltburn. If so, I believe he dodged a bullet. I thought it was awful.
Side note: there would not have been any peen if T.C. had been cast.

My experience was same as you. I would repeat. Nice guy.
For such a hot guy, and his relatively lower rate, I did not expect any extras.
One could ask when booking him, but I doubt if he allows touching or works nude.

TonyDown got a reaction from Johnrom in Income to hire regularly
My dad did not reach 70. At the end he regretted not having more fun in life. Not sure what kind of "fun" he meant.
At least Dad left Mom a comfortable life.
It's a gamble though, having enough money until the end.
So maybe there is not a perfect answer to your question, how much $$ to spend on "fun".
For me, I spend nothing on casinos or ocean cruises. I'm happier supporting a nice provider with my business.
I do like the above idea that someone drove Uber to pay for his "fun".

67 during the day, and 62 at night. We have a Pellet stove in our kitchen/dining area which we will sometimes turn on for ambiance and to take the chill off. I prefer sleeping in a cold room with blankets. Live in MA here.

Like most fluffy coated creatures, I sleep better in the cold (55 degrees ideally). As a result, my heat is never turned on. I use a space heater instead.
It was 50 degrees indoors last night.

TonyDown reacted to + stevenkesslar in Recession coming?
Actually, no. There is data.
Americans' net worth grew 37% after pandemic hit: Fed survey
Real median net worth increased from $141,100 to $192,900 between 2019-2022
Auggie, it's horrible that the price of cereal has gone up. It's a wonder that people with $50,000 more in net worth aren't starving to death. How do they even get by? And worse, a recession is coming!
Again, there is data.
While its true that the average person with $50,000 more in net worth by 2022 and higher real wages in 2023 can barely afford a bowl of cereal, the fact that we made it past the global inflation and supply chain squeeze might explain why people are feeling better. Ya think? The US had lower inflation than most of the rest of the West. Even though inflation sucks. And our economy came out the strongest on the planet. Maybe that helps explain why this recession has gone missing for so long???
It does help explain why my stock nerd nephew's net worth went up hundreds of thousands of dollars........... in the last few days! He bought SOXL at about $7 a share in Fall 2022 and just kept buying more. Which speaks to why we might not have a recession. All that investment in tech and chips is paying off. The US is the global leader. I followed my nephew's lead, but own a lot less SOXL. So my net worth only went up tens of thousands in the last few days. It's horrible! A recession must be coming!
That said, opinions do matter.

TonyDown got a reaction from marylander1940 in Credit card debt hits 1 trillion! How much do you owe?
I read an article linked on Yahoo Finance today that Citi was planning to cut thousands of jobs. The article reported Citi had a loss. My initial reaction was how could that be possible with the high interest they charge on credit cards. Thus this thread caught my interest.
The average credit card debt reported in the article did not seem too astounding compared to all of the credit card debt horror stories one hears about. So, I wonder if the median debt metric is quite a bit higher than the average.
That said, I pay off my credit card balances every week. My car I bought used at Enterprise, with cash.
I basically keep no debt.
