JayinHKNYC got a reaction from + glutes in Christopherbu in NYC...
You're right. As a bottom, I likely wouldn't hire him. But kudos to him for being honest. I first noticed it in the pic, and then when I looked at the profile, I was mildly surprised to see that he did not exaggerate like so many do.

In his ad - He has his style indicated as "otter" yet his single photo shows a hairless torso. Someone needs to buy him a gay dictionary 😆

JayinHKNYC reacted to Jake Ryan in Best massage to gift at nicer spa, also Thai option?
Newbie here. Appreciate any advice please on couple things, thx guys.
1. Want to gift a 90-min massage for Xmas so needs to be a place you wouldn't call grungy (but doesn't have to be super lux) and that wouldn't hound him with upselling. He might like surprise of HE if it happens and am sure he'd be generous in tipping after the fact, but don't want awkward situation for him of any negotiations or other extras. What spa could be good?
Wondering about Batman but never been and their $100+ tip for 90-min makes me wonder if either the place or the service in general is too meh for a gifted experience. Would maybe Energy, East, HK, Paris or 27 be better choice for this? If you say "all depends on which masseur" they seem to change locations a lot so bit hit or miss.
2. Different guy wants a Thai massage, where it's actual traditional thai vibe of walking on back while hanging onto railings on ceiling vs. an oil rubdown or ho-hum strokes by a fella who might happen to be asian. Is there any good option for the real thing? Heard of New Paradise as maybe one idea, but never been. Is their $170 + tip for 90 minutes a fair going rate for this at a decent place? Since this is a gift, would be nice if it's a place where he's not hearing voices on other side of a curtain and felt bit more private.
Thx for whatever I should know for either of these. I can't trust yelp or google reviews that sound fake.

So apparently, saying “no” on the internet is a revolutionary act now. The moment I do it, a few self-appointed experts start diagnosing me with “insecurity” or “attitude.” Guys, calm down—it’s just a boundary, not a global event. If “no” rocks your world that much, maybe it’s not me who needs centering exercises.
Then there are the ones who “test limits.” They come in like detectives on a high-profile case, trying to “evaluate” me, as if I’m a restaurant they’re reviewing on Yelp. Newsflash: it’s not that deep. You’re not Anthony Bourdain, and this is not Undercover Boss: Massage Edition. The real clients, the educated, balanced ones…simply ask for what they want, get a quick selfie if needed, book, and go on with their lives. Imagine that. Adults doing adult things.
And yes, to the dynamic duo who kicked off this little soap opera. you know who you are. One of you couldn’t hide his insecurities if they came with a cloak, and the other got emotional because life didn’t turn into a scene from a movie. You’re lucky I didn’t end the session early. What you witnessed wasn’t tolerance; it was self-control. Consider it my charity work for the week.
I don’t need to parade my body around for validation. I’m selective because I can be, not because I have to be. Booking me is a privilege, not an entitlement. I decide who I see, and believe me, the interview process is tougher than some job applications. If hearing “no” sends you spiraling, don’t worry: I’ll happily sponsor your therapy. It’s cheaper than what that insecurity is costing you right now.
And let’s talk about this forum for a second. My clients (the real ones) are too busy succeeding, traveling, building things, or just living lives that don’t require public approval. They don’t hang out here debating my existence; they’ve moved on to better lighting and actual conversations. The others? They treat gossip threads like support groups that never end. I almost admire the dedication.
And, of course, I can already predict the encore: “But I paid for this!” Ah yes, the greatest hit of all time. Congratulations, lol you’ve successfully completed step one of capitalism. Here’s the twist: you didn’t buy me, you booked a service. There’s a difference, but don’t worry, I know subtlety isn’t everyone’s strength.
Meanwhile, I’m over here doing great. working, laughing, and staying booked. Some people get massages; others get emotional support from comment sections. Whatever helps you sleep at night.

Hope your campaign is working, but it actually hurts the brand of the spa, driving some customers away. Good luck with this.
