"The View" - Season 27 : Discuss...
Ali Gator replied to Ali Gator's topic in TV and Streaming services
Whoopi's out for the week with COVID which means... Joy moderates all week. She's fine as a moderator on Fridays, but all week ? She doesn't seem to be enjoying it. Therefore... Anna Navarro tries her hardest to take over the discussions and moderate. But... Sunny Hostin puts a stop to that. She's not going to let Anna (whom she spars with often) get to moderate. No way ! -
I finished the past two seasons of LINCOLN LAWYER. It's better than I expected ! The lead guy is supposed to be some 'sexy heart-throb' but quite frankly, he does nothing for me. An OK actor with OK looks and an OK body.

CBS 'Big Brother Season 25' thread
Ali Gator replied to Ali Gator's topic in TV and Streaming services
It is such a predictable, dull season this year. This is supposed to be a big-deal Season 25 ? It's horrible. The cast is one of the worst I've ever seen (and I've seen most seasons of the past 25) - the most dull cast ever. The only thing keeping me tuned in each week is Matt's chest and nipples (and don't tell me production is not instructing him to be shirtless throughout the season - they know he's attracting the gay viewers). However, I wish production would stay out of the voting and the set-ups. They obviously want Jared and Cirie to be the final 2 - and you know it's going to happen. -
If you have not seen the movie 'Can You See Us ?' yet on Netflix, put it on your list for this weekend. A beautiful movie which will stay with you after the credits have rolled. I'm expecting this to pick up a few Oscar noms next January (probably in the foreign movie category)

Since I've been in love with Michael Aloni for years, I've been trying to get into 'The Beauty Queen of Jerusalem' which is based on the best-seller (which I enjoyed very much). What throws me on this show is that the voices are all dubbed in English, since the movie was shot in Jerusalem and spoken by the actors in their native language. Now Aloni speaks perfect English - they couldn't let him dub his own character (it doesn't sound like him at all) ? I've watched the first few episodes - not sure if I will stick with it. SPEAKING of Aloni, does anyone know if he's gay in real life ? I've heard mixed things on social media.

"The View" - Season 27 : Discuss...

I found the premiere episode to be underwhelming. Maybe because Whoopi was out with COVID ? I didn't mind the discussion on 45 (he's gong to be in the news cycle for a very long time) , but the discussion was lackluster at best. It's as if they didn't have much different to say now than they did before they went on their month long hiatus. The rest of the show proved to be just as lackluster - it was like they needed a longer vacation and recharge. Even their discussion on 'Burning Man' was a mess. I've tried watching 'Tamryn Hall' a number of times. I just don't like her. I find her very condescending to the guests she has on. She doesn't come across as a likeable host to me. -
Tuesday, September 5, 2023: The six ladies of The View return for Season 27. For the past 3 seasons, the show has remained the #1 daytime talk show among all syndicated and network daytime talk shows, averaging just under 3M viewers. Whoopi Goldberg continues as moderator Monday - Thursday for her 17th season (it's been said she's contracted until 2025), and Joy Behar continues as a panelist Tuesday - Thursday and Friday moderator (she's been with the show for 25 seasons, stepping away from 2013 and 2014 when she was fired, but returning in 2015). Sarah Haines, Ana Navarro, Sunny Hostin and Alyssa Farah Griffin also are returning cohosts. What is new for Season 27 is the set and the table which the hosts gather around each day. Ok fellow VIEWers, let the conversation begin for Season 27 ...

CBS 'Big Brother Season 25' thread

Last night was the Power of Eviction - a contest so easy, a blindfolded cat could do it. Jared wins the HoH, and has put up Red and Cameron (again). Cameron wins PoV, uses it on himself - so Jared puts up Jag...again. Tells Jag he's not the target - Red is, and Cameron next week. Boring. Over the weekend, Jared was talking to Cory (that cute one-foot-out-of-the-closet Twink) about possible noms. During the live feeds, he referred to Cory's ally America as 'the R-word', breaking the rules of conduct in BB House (just as Luke did when he dropped the N-word on his fifth day). He later apologized to Cory for using the R-word on America. Social media erupted -demanding Jared be removed from the house, just like Luke was. CBS said they 'investigated' the issue, and there is no proof that Jared said the word. (HE EVEN APOLOGIZED FOR USING IT - WTF CBS ?) Fans have been in an uproar all weekend - if Jared stays, then bring Luke back (they've demanded). Just goes to show how CBS producers are manipulating the outcome of this game. They will do anything to bring Jared, his mom Cyrie and new BFF Felicia to the 'final 3'. Sorry - he admitted saying the R-word so it's time to boot his ass out. -
Grocery Surprises, What's Got Your Goat With High Price?
Ali Gator replied to DR FREUD's topic in The Lounge
My market of choice is Market Basket (a family owned New England chain). Since they finally opened in RI two years ago, that's where I've been shopping (and no longer shop Stop-n-Shop, Shaws, Dave's, Trader Joes, Whole Foods, etc.). Anyhow, I used to buy the "Mexican Coke" there - classic Coke in glass bottles (12 oz) with real cane sugar, no high fructose corn syrup. It tastes like the Coke I grew up with in the late 60s, 70s, 80s before they switched to HFCS in the late 80s. A 24 pack used to be $18 when I first went there two years ago. It slowly increased every month by a dollar or two. The past six months they haven't stocked it, until the other day. Now the price is $36 for the 24 pack ! No thank you. (BTW - when MB opened their two locations in RI, there were a Price Rite store near each of them, and a S & S a stone's throw away from each. I heard this week both Price RIte stores will be closing by January, and S& S is 'considering' closing both their stores as well. Can't keep up with MB). -
Guy at gay nude beach brags how easy it is to 'rig up' with a stranger

The one thing I find most sexy about him is his chest hair. He has just enough to keep me entertained in all the right places. Not too much, and not too little. -

His social media pages can keep you "busy" for hours. 😜 In some photos and videos, he is really hot and sexy. In others, he is just 'ehhhh'. Overall, I think he's more impressed with himself than anyone else will ever be. -

Apparently, he makes other vlogs on how easy it is to hook up with others. I guess he has an impressive piece of sizemeat ? -
I watched two episodes and realized it wasn't for me.

This week's "live eviction" episode had to be one of the worst episodes in its 23 year history. A ridiculous 'superpower' which erased the eviction of Jag. It's like the producers have no idea how to stretch this season to 100 days - so they'll try anything stupid. Saving Grace - beautiful camera shots of Matt's sculpted chest. I wonder if Matt is instructed by the directors to wear his shirts unbuttoned and puff out his pecs ? -
"Once Upon A One More Time" - the Britney Spears 'jukebox musical' which was in the making for the past 4 years - announced last week it will be closing this Sunday, September 3. The 'fairy tale' musical, which is based on Spears' most popular songs from her catalog, is expected to lose every penny of its $20 Million investment. The musical will have played 123 performances since it opened to mostly poor reviews back in June. The musical was first proposed in 2019, with a US opening in Chicago. But those plans were delayed until the Spring of 2020, and then canceled due to the pandemic. The show finally opened in late 2021, at the Shakespeare Theater Company in Washington, D.C. Critics were very harsh, but sales were strong during its run. It then announced a Broadway opening for June 22, 2023. Reviews were harsh once again, and sales were low during its opening week - grossing just over $700,000 which proved not enough to keep a musical of this size alive. For the week ending August 13, sales slumped to just over $500,000 with theater attendance dropping to less than 50%. Spears herself endorsed the show on her social media when it opened in D.C. and again when it opened on Broadway. However, what her relationship to the show was exactly had never been made clear. Spears never attended any of the public performances, and her fan base never seemed to organize any support for it on social media. The producers of the show said they will concentrate on a national tour for 2024, and international productions, as well. The show is the latest in a long line of Broadway productions to close abruptly within months, since audiences diminished during the pandemic, and costs and ticket prices skyrocketed.

"Funny Girl" revival recoups its $16.5 M investment

They really should have recognized LM in some way at this year's Tonys for reviving this musical which was on life-support a year ago. She deserved some special award - along with Tovah. -

So cute houseguest Hisam got booted 11- 0 last night in the live eviction. He stepped out of the house to talk with Julie Chen Moonves ("Love One Another") and the purses started flying out of his mouth. This has been the talk on most gay forums across the internet - what happened to the tough, straight-acting Hisam in the house ? Later on, the contestants participated in 'the pressure cooker' contest for HOH. It was an endurance test, in which each contestant had to stand up with their hand on a buzzer. If they let the hand off the buzzer, a light would go on - and they were out. No food breaks, no bathroom breaks, no nothing. About four hours in, handsome, hunky, sexy Olympic swimmer had to pee. So he told those in charge of the 'live feeds' "I have to pee, so I'm going to take IT out..." The live feed cameras cut to the House Guests who already were eliminated and sitting in the house. A few minutes later, feeds were back on Matt and the others still in the contest. Oh why won't they let us see Matt's penis ? How can it be no nudes have leaked of him (or Hisam) ???? -

Last season we had some great hot hunks on the show. This season ? Blehhh. I really wish Hisam gets Matt into his bed before Hisam gets evicted. I'm not 100% convinced Matt is straight. -

OOOOPS ! I meant Jared - Cirie's son. -
He did tell me he has a 'regular clientele' which keeps him in business (he's been doing this for seven years). I guess he's not too eager to meet with 'everyone' when he travels ? I guess I'm lucky to have met up with him. The experience was great.
