My primary doctor happened to be a GI guy, I had to do a *major* presentation to him on all my research, surgeon, and all the pre-surgery testing and counseling, in effect I had to "sell" my surgery to my primary doc to get his ok. It was one of the longest office visits with him ever, and he ultimately approved the surgery.
Thanks for acknowledging the surgery is not a magic bullet, it was not a simple decision for me. Lots of pre/post dedication

Thank you. I hadn't made the connection between an RNY and alcohol absorption rates.
Your desire for white wines post-op is really fascinating.

I always stopped - when I got full - didn't vomit

Totally agree with this. Picking up another addiction is a common risk.
My surgeon also had the strict pre-surgery and post-surgery requirements. Luckily, I've not had any issues with lose of taste (thank goodness). Still love food but in much smaller portions. For example, if I go out to eat for lunch and order a sandwich I end up eating half and using a doggie bag for the other half (dinner).
I originally lost about 150 lbs (much than I wanted) and it took a while for the body to stop losing. I'm now at a loss of 130 lbs and at the weight my doctor recommended. Went from a 48" waist to 36". Best decision I ever made.

After two years of working hard (and UNsuccessfully) to lose weight, A friend (older than I am) was told by her Dr. to try Whole30 -- https://whole30.com/whole30-program-rules/ - that she would lose weight even with her 24 medications. She lost 20# in 30 days.
SO! I started Whole30 on June 26th -- 30 days of faithfully NOT violating the eating program!
4 days of withdrawal HELL -- expected as I have dieted before -- then two weeks of thinking about the foods I would bring back after 30 days!!! By the time 30 days was up, my body was reprogrammed! AMAZING!
I would try things like pizza & ice cream -- enjoy the treat and say "Nope, I don't need that"
I lost 20# in the 30 days and and now down 33# since June 26th -- feeling great, BP & Glucose much better.
I recently posted:
"I have found my body's response to food to be so interesting since I started Whole30 on June 26th!
The concept is 30 days w/o straying! and then to slowly bring back and try food you have eliminated.
I have found that my body wants to stay on Whole30!
As you know from my posts, this weekend I had some non-Whole30 foods/treats that I did enjoy - I just don't enjoy enough to bring back on a regular basis!
2 weekends a month and events outside my space w/ friends is ample ad even then I do not go crazy.
This morning, it felt so good to just be back to Whole30 eating.
Everyone reacts differently - I only share my journey as an example - it worked/works for me!!!
33 pounds gone! That feels good too!"
Whole30 is simple and very basic! I have brought corn on the cob back (local seasonal) and use ghee rather than butter and I enjoy crumbly bleu on my salads! Almond butter has replaced peanut butter (legume)
I am most content with a Whole30 plate of food! where I save half the salad for breakfast!

My partner had bariatric surgery (sleeve). Counselling was part of the process. Weight loss isn't just because of overeating. Often ridding oneself of one sort of addiction means substituting it with another addiction. Very often people lose the weight but regain it because they reduce food intake but substitute it with alcohol consumption. For anyone thinking about weight loss surgery check out a forum called Obesity Help.

+1 here, RNY in 2009. Down 117#, also keep up on labs (man they draw a lot of blood!), light exercise, surgeon calls me "poster boy" for gastric bypass surgery.

I had RNY in 2010 and loss about 150 lbs. Have had no side effects and NO regrets over the surgery. I keep up on my labs to make sure there are no problems post-surgery.
Have relatives that went with gastric sleeve but while their results have been good results but less than mine.
Totally agree that this is not a "quick fix" that should be undertaken lightly. This is serious surgery that can have long-term consequences.

Thanks! I was just wondering if I was being cheap. I have only being hiring for a few months. I always carry an extra $100. My respectable is $20-40. My very good is $50. Blow my mind is $100. I always pay my regular an extra $50 though. I have only paid the $100 once. One has to really earn that $100. I could afford more but I think I would only do that for a regular just to show appreciation. There are certain things you skimp on but ways to blow your load is not one of them. Just saying:)

OneFinger reacted to TruthBTold in Traveling: Why is it that more and more clients can't host?
I know it sounds crazy (and it is) but I am always hesitant about hosting because I think that the person will have some judgment about where I live. Now actually I live in a nice part of town and I have a nice condo but I always think that either they themselves will have a wonderful sea/beach/ocean-side condo and/or he will have done either overnights or week-long engagements in majestic complexes. I generally go ahead and book in my home but I just wanted to express a reason that a client might not host. Then again I might just need therapy. Or both.

OneFinger got a reaction from + DickyF in Traveling: Why is it that more and more clients can't host?
I've only had 1 instance with a traveling escort (that I knew well) where I went to their hotel. For all other hires, I've always hosted at a hotel (including locals). I'm just not comfortable having sex in someone's personal residence or hosting them at my home.

OneFinger reacted to Epigonos in PALM SPRINGS WEEKEND 2018
PALM SPRINGS GAY RESORTS
2018
Oliver has decided that the Palm Springs Weekend this year will be held on April 14th and 15th. That weekend will also be the first weekend of the Coachella Festival. Beyonce has already announced that she will be performing after having to cancel last year. Her appearance means that rooms in Palm Springs will be even more difficult to book as time passes.
I highly recommend that if you are even remotely considering attending the Palm Springs Weekend you book a room as soon as possible. If later you decide that you will be unable to attend you can simply cancel your reservation. With this in mind I am providing the following list of gay resorts you might consider booking. I have divided the resorts into three price groups: 1.) Moderate, 2.) Moderately Expensive, and 3.) Expensive. I have recently visited ALL of the facilities listed below. They are all clothing optional, escort friendly and are all listed on tripadvisor. I have included each sites street address, web address and a few personal comments.
Moderate
Canyon Club
www.canyonclubhotel.com
960 N Palm Canyon Drive
Includes a coffee and Danish breakfast
Escape
www.escapepalmsprings.com
641 E. San Lorenzo Dr
Includes a continental breakfast
Triangle Inn Palm Springs
http://www.triangle-inn.com/triangle-inn-palm-springs
555 E San Lorenzo Dr.
Includes a continental breakfast
Moderately Expensive
INNdulge
www.inndulge.com
601 S. Greenfall Rd.
Includes a continental breakfast
Vista Grande Resort
www.vistagranderesort.com
574 Warm Springs Dr.
Includes a continental breakfast
Expensive
Santiago Resort
www.santiagoresort.com
650 E. San Lorenzo Rd.
Includes a continental breakfast and a box lunch
The Hacienda Warm Springs
www.thehacienda.com
586 S Warm Springs Dr.
Includes elaborate continental breakfast and a great number of choices for a cold lunch
As I stated in the introductory paragraph I have visited ALL of these facilities and ALL of them are acceptable. Some offer more amenities and are more elaborately landscaped than others but they come at a price.

Looks vaguely familiar but I could be imaging things since y'all primed the thread with the suggestion that his pics were posted elsewhere. None of them came up in basic searches. The number is a VoIP number using a Clark County, Nevada area code and it's flagged as "not safe" but that was over a year and a half ago, so it may not be related to him.

OneFinger reacted to rvwnsd in Offended by vetting
While I understand the desire to do some vetting, I think you overstepped when you called him by his given name. As someone else suggested, when the name listed in an escort's ad is not a name typically associated with a person it is wise to ask what he would like you to call him. It sounds like you stumbled upon his name, which will happen, but it does not sound like you stumbled upon using it.

OneFinger reacted to Good Grief in Offended by vetting
Yes, you should have continued to call him by the screen name until he gave you another to use, if he wanted to.
You overstepped.

I'm not a lawyer, and I certainly don't like that the two gay students were made invisible.
I do feel obliged to point out that the students were minors and vaguely recall the phrase "In loco parentis" applied to schools and minors, which suggests to me that the constitutional rights of students in relation to schools is different from legal adults and public institutions, and so, the two students would have a tougher time prevailing in a civil suit.
@quoththeraven is certainly welcome to speak from her much more knowledgeable perspective about this.

Thanks for the feedback... did he allow mutual touch? Also did you go to his place... he lists National City as his location, not the best place in San Diego... so not sure if it's safe to park outside in that area he's in.
