I had the hour-long appointment with Sacred Intimate Tuesday evening; setting it up and communication through his arrival went smoothly. 
Overall, I'd give the experience an A or A-. The minus is because his technique and process is heavily rooted in New Age philosophies (Eastern spirituality and the like) and if you're not into that, then it probably isn't for you. The session is about 1/3 spirituality, 1/3 massage, and 1/3 eroticism. We started with a warm, long hug and then he set up my bedroom (this was an outcall) as what he called a "sacred space": he came equipped with candles, incense, tiny paintings to put around the room, and two speakers (one for the New Age-y mix tape on his phone and the other for forest sounds). Then, still fully clothed we sat on the bed and did some yogic breathing and some sensory awareness exercises.  
After that, we stripped down and he massaged me: a mixture of shiatsu, Swedish, and unfamiliar-to-me (Hawaiian, per his website?). He seemed more intuitive here and less formally trained. Still, it was relaxing.

I have the strong impression that how far this goes depends on what kind of connection he makes with the client; in my case, because I was open to the spiritual aspects earlier in the hour, and could embrace them, I probably got more than the average client (he said as much, afterward). So it's definitely a case of YMMV. 
He's in the NY area until August, although only occasionally in the city itself. If you feel you'd be into it and want to experience an older masseur than most of them out there, go for it.

the good guys will take almost 95% of clients, but there are always a few clients that stand out as potential problems & the best guys don’t lack for options - they just don’t want to deal with bad people at any price.

Hello, lots of things can happen even in this type of country. I know the region, but not specifically Ghana. 
The apps will work, Grindr will be the biggest one, and also Gayromeo/Romeo.com. It's a web site and an app based in Germany. It's popular in Africa because there's a website, so easy to use on a computer and people may not have a smart phone or access to mobile Internet (low coverage in your neighbourhood or simply no cash to buy gsm data bundles that day). In African families you can't keep your phone to yourself, if your sister or cousin wants to watch a film that you have downloaded, you simply lend it to them, so you would have to delete a lot of apps after using them, to stay under cover.
Romeo is also interesting because they have a section called hunqz, which is adds from escorts. You can only access that on the website, not on the app. This is the place to look for escorts. 
I know around 20 African countries, so I hope it's ok if I give you some advice: 
It is not uncommon for criminals to target gay people, so be very careful. Honey traps and so on, fake profiles and a couple of guys show up and rob you. Blackmail is also common, threatening to report you to the police (in case being gay is illegal, for example). Filming you when you have sex, threatening to publish that on social media, etc etc. Escorts can also be criminals and rob or blackmail you. 
Almost everyone shows fake pics in the profile. It's accepted practice, so nothing to get upset about. It's simply not safe to show photos of yourself in most African countries, and everyone knows that (except a tourist who just arrived), so it's not like they are actually impersonating. They will typically show their face on cam only. They may send authentic body pics. Many guys will exaggerate their height, dick size and other data in a way that goes far beyond other parts of the world. Be prepared to be surprised. 
Before going on a date consider safety. Meeting the first time after dark, for example, is something I would avoid, unless in a restaurant or where there's people around (very few African guys will agree to that though, because if they are seen with a white and older guy it is clear to everyone that they are gay and/or prostitutes). You will need to hide valuables, etc, if you take someone to your room. Oh and very few hotels will except visitors, especially after dark. I always stay in aribnb, but check the house rules before booking, many has a rule about no visitors after dark. I would recommend being picky and staying with one guy, if you like him, as opposed to chasing another and another. Less risk involved, less hassle and just like any other place he will immediately find out and probably block you. African guys are sensitive of being treated as just a piece of meat. They may also be looking marry you. 
I have had the best time with my African lovers and boyfriends, but I did also get into trouble a few times, hence the warnings. Good luck! 

First thing to realise is that there are two types of hammams in Marrakech. The ones for tourists and the ones for ordinary citizens. These are _entirely_ different. The tourist version will have signs, advertising, they will give a commission to your hotel or tour guide, if they sent you there, it's big business in Marrakech and you will pay anything between 25 to 100 usd depending on what treatments you want (massages, peeling, pedicure, hair removal, etc) or more if you order refreshments or even a meal. Most places will have a fixed price for entrance, scrubbing and massage and you can't opt out (I guess you can pay, but say no thanks to the massage, but in that case why are you there?). These places vary greatly in quality,  decoration, etc, so do your research. This is what people refer to when they say they have been to an authentic Moroccan hammam. They can be absolutely wonderful, some of them are very boutique, but all the other guests will be tourists like you, staff will speak some English, there's no nudity, and it's nothing like the hammams where ordinary people go. I went to one of these and an older male masseur selected me (they picked the clients, not the other way around). After the scrubbing (gommage in French) he took me to an isolated room upstairs, while the other clients were having their massage in a shared room downstairs. He worked my legs and buttocks _a lot_ and entirely focused on that. His fingers touched my anus repeatedly and I was really curious to see how far he would go. I never actually instructed him to go further though, so it ebbed out. Afterwards he asked me for a tip, even as there was gigantic signs everywhere saying tipping was forbidden. I'm still not quite sure what that was about, I would call myself very straight-acting and on the other hand I have a great ass for someone 50+. So was he "into me" or just wanted to get paid for a happy ending? No idea. 
It took me quite a while to find a real hammam, mostly because no locals will tell you where they are. I speak fluent French, so that's not the issue. The real hamams are really very private, people use them as their own bathrooms, they can be rather small, and they are also not very hygienic by Western standards. People will be shaving, even their pits or pubic hair (common in Arab countries), they will cut their toe nails, etc.They often don't have signs, and are in small back streets, entrance may be from the yard, etc, so unless you already know it, you won't find it. Nobody speaks a word of English and only very little French. Entrance is 2/3 usd or similar. You bring your own soap and what else you need to clean yourself. The only thing they provide is a bucket, that you need to get water from the taps, that you then pour over yourself in the steam room. There are often no lockers for clothes and valuables, so you give them to a guy who will watch them. The toilets will not have paper (common in Arab countries) and the doors often won't have a lock (I'm assuming it's too stop people from having sex in there). There will be a masseur or two, price would be around 10 usd, but most people don't go there for that. They go to scrub themselves and do that very passionately, many of them probably don't have a proper bathroom at home. They sit around the steam room relaxing, some of them for what seems like hours. And here's the beauty of it, they scrub each other, they scrub you. You don't even have to ask for it or communicate by words, someone will just come up to you and start scrubbing and you're expected to do the same in return. There's often a dense homoerotic atmosphere but not because the men are necessarily gay (some might be, of course). There's very little talking, if any. 
I absolutely love these places, they are primitive but so sensual. Some of them do have a bit of a gay clientele and some action,  mutual masturbation etc, nothing advanced, as there is nowhere private. Great place to meet local guys and go home with them after though. God bless you, if you can find one of these places. Only local gay men would know which ones of them have some action, and they may not even want to share that info, it's clandestine and people want it to stay that way. But it's paradise in my book. 

I tried and was successful in finding companionship in Southern Africa. Very reasonable rates when compared to North America and Western Europe. Compared favorably with South America. PreP isn't commonly used and testing for STDs is sporadic - you would be advised to play safe.

The "locals" will take money from any visitor who doesn't speak their language -- or doesn't speak it well. It's definitely not limited to Americans visiting France or anywhere else. There are "ugly" Germans, Chinese, Brits, and Russians flocking to countries around the world.
