It is a wasted thread. I mean, no one has any 1st or even second hand knowledge of Michael Boston. With one exception, no one has expressed a willingness to spend $1K and the thread was started by someone who no longer hires.  Not even a decent amount of humor.

Regardless whether this is age shaving or simply running an old ad, as mentioned by Jose, this seems like a distraction from whether or not he delivers. You’re buying a fantasy and most guys over 30 shave a bit anyway. If they can deliver, who cares? There are much more grievous things that people advertise and don’t provide than this.

I think it's more typical to be a trainer or go into real estate than to be a lawyer. Some go back to the kinds of jobs they had beforehand--hospitality, bartending, haircutting.  Some comeback after having done physical training and real estate.  What most of these have in common is that they are Plan-B occupations.

I’m not questioning whether you have friends. I’m questioning how you frame connection. You said you “tried the friendship path” as a strategy to get romance, and when it didn’t convert, you described people as only showing up if sex is on offer. That’s the issue.
What you’re describing isn’t confusion — it’s frustration that people aren’t behaving the way you hope. But this isn’t a vending machine. Offering drinks or chats doesn’t entitle you to dates or intimacy. And yes, you did say it felt like people only connect if you’re offering something — that’s a clear projection, whether you realize it or not.
As for the masseur, I’m not discounting the emotional impact it had on you. But let’s be honest: paid experiences, no matter how unexpectedly tender, still take place in a structure where one person is hired to be present, kind, and open. That doesn’t make it fake — it makes it contextual. The feelings are real. The frame is controlled. It’s okay to unpack that. But don’t confuse it with someone choosing you freely.
You say you want the risk and discomfort of intimacy. Good. Then stop treating it like a puzzle to crack or a service to unlock. Start showing up in places and ways that aren’t about outcome. That’s where connection begins — not in strategies, but in surrender.

He’s been around forever—20 years at least. In and out of the business numerous times, although not recently. Never tempted. There were threads on him back in his heyday, but probably gone now.

It’s an expensive hobby and you do what anyone does with an expensive hobby, you either figure out how to save or you’re lucky enough to have a large income. There’s always an emphasis on the most outrageous prices, even though the average provider didn’t raise their prices 50-100%. Travel, theater tickets and other often costly hobbies have gotten more expensive, too, along with necessities. We had a long period without much inflation in any major cost items except maybe housing, but part of the apparent runupi. Provider prices are those at the extremes who often don’t  know the market or were able to cash in on the early days of OF. For a variety of reasons I didn’t hire for a few years, but even though Ifind it more costly, but relative to every5hing else, not that outrageous.

There are a few 6 year programs in the US that combine BA and MD. Not sure med school allows enough time for OF. College easily does.
