  1. Not really. The OF convinced me that he’s probably a ravaged mess, which doesn’t bode well for a reliable, mutually enjoyable experience.
  2. I joined his OF for a month. He just seemed really haggard in his content and I decided not to go any further.
  3. His ad is gone.
  4. Depends. Hagen makes a good point about expectations of different sorts of regulars and there probably also are guys who have unrealistic expectations of intimacy and friendship. Not every “regular” relationship will evolve in the same way. Guys who derive a lot of their income from travel may not see someone “often” but may see them on every visit or every few visits to their city, being a regular can be more elastic for them than for someone who rarely travels.
  5. Many clients, myself included start by showing interest and avoiding specific asks right away (I saw your ad, I’m interested in in/out, x dates/times work for me, I’m traveling/local) and offering to answer any questions.
  6. Porn studios seem to be staying in business. They’ve been using social media to recruit people since the 2000s. Being in studio porn creates visibility and opportunities for collaborations. Escorts are still in business—more in many places than pre-COVID. As I mentioned upthread, it’s complicated and it’s dynamic. Customers will get more sophisticated about posting rates, quality and up selling. Very few guys can produce high quality vids over a long period. It requires skill and it helps to have collaborators behind the camera.
  7. A good summary. The OF model seems to be evolving with more pay per video which, in the long run only works if they produce a regular stream of content. The typical OF claims weekly updates but often don’t even manage to do them monthly. My guess is that we’ll continue on 5he road of a small number of prolific OF a producers who do well and the laggards will come to be easier to spot and less lucrative for their creators. Pornstars use OF as an adjunct to their career or a way to extend their ability to monetize it, much as they used to use escorting for this purpose. The non-OF pornstar escorts tend to be from the pre-OF area. Still, if OF becomes less lucrative then I think we may see more new pornstars escorting again. I think the pricing volatility has a lot to do with COVID and the absence of an active market for a couple years. Things will settle down, but prices won’t be as low as they used to be.
  8. He may not be advertising but he's in the sex business, but perhaps his road has gotten rockier: Beaux Banks Says He Was “Objectified” By Big-Dicked Gay Porn Star Dom King While Attempting To Film Sex Scene | STR8UPGAYPORN STR8UPGAYPORN.COM
  9. He seems to be advertising as a masseur—-any experience with him in that role?
  10. Sexy and you’ll see he’s been discussed in the past.
  11. The more recent thread on him has been locked. This one should be locked, too.
  12. He's been discussed to death already. Unless he changes his business model, I don't see the point of keeping this going.
  13. He had some raves when he was in DC. I seem to recall having a scheduling issue (either illness or something major coming up on my side) so I never got to meet him: RoyMasonNYC - Pornstar Performer, Rentboy, Gay Massage in Washington, DC | RentMen RENTMEN.EU Pornstar Performer & Rentboy in Washington, DC - RoyMasonNYC: Hot Young Jock
  14. I figured as much--he's been on RM for enough time to have reviews but has none.

That isn’t Derek. When his RM was active he seemed on tour and probably doing collars as much or more than seeing escorting clients.
  16. Link?
  17. He has exited the escort and porn business.

    Ricky Decker

he got rave reviews for ages. Funny that only now we find that he'd been a no go for awhile.
  19. Five pages and yet rather few examples. Texting has been around for something like 15 years and this seems like the kind of thread we saw 15 years ago. Texts are terse. I don't mind that. I don't like embroidery. If a provider doesn't respond? I assume their not available--I'm not offended. This sort of thing has been common for quite awhile.
  20. He has a YouTube interview:
  21. ChasetheJock 's profile has disappeared. I wonder if he'll re-appear shortly, with or without a new identity. That seems to be his pattern.

JEC—I was referring to RM sad. It’s pretty easy to spot.

Sadly, he hasn't logged-in in months. He turns up on twitter periodically, but hasn't been on in over a year.
  24. I was going through some books and found my copy of "Hustling". It's quick read--Preston was a fine writer with economical prose. Many of the specifics are dated (agencies, hustler bars), but his understanding of clients and his respect for the diversity and variation in sexual experience seem relevant. I remember Aaron Lawrence dismissing the book as "dated" (and, of course promoting his own book), but missing that Preston was talking about human interaction and broad business principles. I read Lawrence's book in a couple sittings and it was clear that he didn't respect his clients. Given that he veered off into crappy born and general attention seeking, I'm guessing he either made a pile with good investments or did something dumb like buy gold at the wrong time.
  25. I have a couple advanced degrees and spend my days with people who are similarly educated. Some are interesting and some are not. I don’t think providers need to provide a lot of details about their education but it may help to know if they have a bachelors or a graduate degree. More important to me is whether they have some curiosity as opposed to paper credentials. I have hired providers who did not seem well educated but did seem interested in the world around them and other people—they were much better company than many highly educated people I know.
