I used to live in Thailand and worked there over a period of 15 years and made trip last year to see friends and other places in the region. Thailand has reached a point where a tour is real unnecessary and off the beaten path places are more and more difficult to find. Bangkok is a sprawling place and many people find it difficult to like. Many of the best things to do are quite simple--taking the express boat on the Chao Phaya River, visditing the Jim Thompson House & the nearby Suan Pakkad Palace, visiting the old temples in the old center near the river. Walking through Chinatown and enjoying seafood in the street restaurants at night. Standard destination include the old capitals in Ayuthhaya & Sukothai, Chaing Mai--the "capital" of the North, which has a nice old center but otherwise is a bit of sprawlburg. Ayuthhaya can be done as a day trip by train 9with taxi at the town) some people do it as a cruise. Kanchanburi is another nice day trip--in October the Erawhan Falls will be filled with water--that is an additional bus ride from Kanchanaburi. The usual beach resorts are pretty overdeveloped and have lost a lot of their character. Pattaya is probably the last interesting but has a gay strip and is convenient to Bangkok. The Northeast is largely unvisited but has interesting Khmer ruins--Phnom Rung is the best--if you're not visiting Angkor Wat. Ban Chiang is on the way to Laos overland and worth seeing--an archeologic site. The high end hotels in Bangkok line the river but ghat's not necessarily the most central location---the Oriental is very nice--very elegant--the Mandarin is newer and a bit on the flashy side. The Millenium Hilton across the river is quite nice. The Conrad, Swissotel and Athenee are nice higher end hotels that are close to the skytrain and near shopping. Angkor Wat is a real treasure. It deserves a couple day sat least. Siem Reap has become a sprawling tourist town which should give you plenty of time to not be there and see the temples at Angkor. Luang Prabang in Laos is another exceptional place filled with interesting temple architecture and a relaxed vibe. Late October can be very rainy and there is flooding in places near rivers in Bangkok and Chiang Mai--that's probably the one thing to consider, although unless there is a tropical storm, the rains tend to be monsoons--slate afternoon cloudbursts, although you can get a day or two of continuous rain at times.

He may be young, but he's in a business that requires customer service which seems a bit lacking (see previous post). if you're going to do something for a living, do it right. Given that he seems to be with someone more experienced makes it even less excusable.

I think he has discovered the site because we get the "nothing less than an overnight" novice poster and someone PMed me trying to explain away the stats. Ironically I'm hwp and could shave 10 years off my chronological age if I wanted (but don't), but I don't think stats questions are the best opener. And if he's so great why aren't there some reviews?

The P Street Whole Foods in DC seems to be a draw for them. I saw Heath Jordan there once--shortly before seeing him otherwise. The reason for the dressing up in the old days was probably the dress code for business, as most flyers were traveling ifor business. It's easier to wear a jacket than to pack it, but frankly I rarely need to do either. My point is that these "good old days" we're a million years ago and haven't really meant much in ages.

I've been flying since I was 8 and I suspect you're talking about a time that was many decades ago and pretty irrelevant to the present.

How many is "so many"--enough that you notice or enough that it's truly a large %? In surveys of gay men, it's not usual to find that 5-10% have had sex with a woman in the past year. Among African-American and Hispanic men, the it's often more like 15-20% And what's your expectation of escorts? A reasonably successful one is likely to have a sex drive and sense of sexual adventure that is beyond that of the average gay man, and probably the modal client. So....if 5-10% of escorts say they're bi and the % is a bit higher among Black or Hispanic guys, it's pretty normal and a bit higher on either score shouldn't be much of a surprise.

He's been discussed many times in the past. Terms like flaky often come up. I found him distant, but an interesting person, an impression some others shared. Not updating the pics seems like a dealbreaker, though.

If you look at cities within a few hours of Columbus, none of them have substantial numbers of escorts--not even Detroit which has a much larger metro area. Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, and Cleveland each have two sizable universities and even the ones that are commuter schools would be theoretical candidates for guys becoming escorts. The two cities with lots of students and sizable numbers of escorts are Philly and Boston---both are much larger metros than Columbus and the numbers of students are something like 25-300K in Boston and well over 100k in Philly. Columbus and all these other places are smaller metro areas than places with sizable numbers of escorts. Columbus also isn't a convention hub or a tourist destination. Its mainstays are things like state government which, at best, provide a middle class income. Yes, there's some tech, but its not Silicon Valley. Mostly its regional offices and logistics and middle class that lives off that. There simply isn't a huge market in any of the Midwestern cities except Chicago--the Twin Cities (which have a big state school), St. Louis, none of them.

His ads come and go and it was reported on another thread that he was focusing on school, so I would guess he hasn't been giving the escort business consistent attention. Either here or elsewhere it's been reported that he reeked of attitude when he worked as a bartender at Cobalt, so I wonder if this mitigates against having a local fan base. As far as porn work, it says something about what someone can do under certain conditions. The inability to perform under less than ideal conditions--hay lifts, retakes, tweaked out partners is probably more useful than weather they do well., although the latter does suggest a high sex drive and adaptability to setting and partners, although the partners usually aren't the man in the street.

Thanks. Glad I don't shop there. I did take a look at his twitter. He does the same stuff other guys do (like endlessly repost the same pics) but there's just a sad desperate quality to it. Also, no mention of "Seth". They were packaged as a couple for awhile and didn't they get married? Usually guys who are partnered that publicly mention their hubby in their posts even if they're basically selling themselves.

Interesting discussion. His website is irregularly updated and the cam shows often cancelled--which makes me think the web presence probably isn't a money maker. He's gone from a mix of BFs and guys on the way up or trying to re-establish themselves in porn to no-name travel partners plus BB on the cam shows---which makes me think the escort thing hasn't been producing enough cash flow (or else, if these stories here are true that his rep is catching up with him). Even if his strategy of hitting second and third tier markets produces revenue, I would guess that he has a high overhead business (probably a large vehicle, carting around stuff). I did hire one of his guys--the guy shortly thereafter left and seemed unhappy with his situation (was fine otherwise as an experience). The whole operation seemed well organized but, but a bit too organized and stilted, with Jason himself reminding me of why I viewed "entrepreneurs" in Atlanta as people trying to fleece other people (and often not very good at making money themselves). Making promises to people in vulnerable situations is the oldest trick in the book, and promising exposure, etc. to wannabes is probably a close relative, so I could see how this could all fit together.

Regular was going for $2.93 in suburban DC. I'm surprised it hasn't risen higher. I sold my car in August and decided to see how I'd manage for a year, relying on occasional rentals (easier & easier to do in DC and some other cities with Zipcar/Flexcar). For once, I might have done something at the right time.
