Exactly. I'm paying a premium amount, and an escort should be able to deliver the fantasy without having to know what a client looks like beforehand. If they can't, I still contend they are in the wrong business. If I want to be pre-screened and body shamed, I can go on Grindr and Scruff for that. But I don't expect that when someone is asking me to pay them triple digits per hour. I'm a decent looking guy, relatively fit (training for my 6th marathon), and have a killer ass. Perhaps some one should have told you the world does not turn around you and your needs. If you have self esteem issues I am sorry, you should go to counseling. With my initial email to the escort I give my general description. Height, Weight, Age, Race, and a general idea of what I am looking to happen....works well for me 95% of my hires have gone really well. No surprises for the escort and (hopefully) none for me.

This is a good practice. Some (Not me) have certain physical attributes and criteria they look for in a client. A face pic may be to know who to expect at the door also.

There is an urban legend amongst escorts, both male and female...that asking for a picture of the client will ensure they’re not being jammed by an undercover cop. The reason? Once that cops picture is out there, he may be walking into an ambush in the future. Again, the MM side of the fence gets less attention from law enforcement, but females out there routinely ask for pictures, won’t open the door if it’s not the guy in the picture...and generally, a detective isn’t gonna want his picture out there because he doesn’t know when he’s gonna be in the sights in the future. Just my 2 cents on why he was trying to get a picture.....and ESPECIALLY in Vegas, guys ask for pictures since that city chases hookers.

I don’t think I’m naive in wanting every meeting to be a win/win - an experience we both enjoy. My experience is that if one person is unhappy then the other is unlikely to enjoy themselves.

If I walk into the room and the escort is clearly unhappy with what he sees then 1) I did a lousy job of screening HIM, 2) I’m pretty sure I’m going to get the vibe pretty quickly, and, 3) I’m going to decide if we should do each other a favor and terminate the meeting. It's been mentioned by some in this thread that the escort may be asking to ensure that it's not entrapment or LE on the other end. I can certainly understand that mentality, but it can be flipped the other way. When these escorts start asking for my pics, I automatically assume it's a sting out to entrap me! I could lose my job if it got out that I'm engaging in an illegal activity, so I just avoid the risk. And with this FOSTA/SESTA bullshit impending law, the risk seems even greater for clients now. I have always struggled with how explicit to be regarding my expectations for a session. Someone earlier suggested that being explicit could also explain why the escort wanted face pics. But how are you supposed to ask for what you want and clearly articulate what it is you're looking for without being explicit? When there's this amount of money involved, a client wants to make sure he's going to get what he's paying for.

Non of the escorts I know that screen clients turn them away because of their stats (or their race). Those that don't screen tend to end up bitching about their jobs more and find themselves in unsafe or unfortunate situations.

I'm not sure $300 an hour (or whatever) is truly premium. Don't get me wrong, it's a huge amount of money to me -- I'm not rolling in it -- and I wish prices were lower too. But ask anyone who's worked in a profession where you schedule individual sessions with clients that are highly customized: the hourly rate doesn't just pay for that one hour. It also pays for time spent directly preparing for (and cleaning up from) the session, time spent communicating (which can be truly substantial), and time and money spent keeping "equipment" in top condition. It pays for the fact that sessions are never going to be perfectly scheduled back-to-back -- you can't just multiply hourly rate by number of hours in a workday like you can for salaried jobs. And, this is a particularly demanding job that requires a highly atypical amount of physical and social/emotional engagement, and has potential to suck a lot of energy away from one's non-work life.

 

So maybe I would put it like this: the client is paying a premium amount, but the escort isn't getting paid exorbitantly, at least not most of the time. If you want to solve the equation, the escort has to be part of it, too

Let me correct you just a little bit. In he OP's case he is not paying anything. 300 or whatever is the fee is what the escorts charges in case of a hiring, but the hiring depends on the client going through the screening. So no one is paying anything here.

Yet ANOTHER reason I've always pref'd STR8 guys lol. (which I oft get flack for btw) They rarely screen rarely care WHAT you look like bc they're not attracted to you PERIOD. Good personal hygiene and all that goes with it being a given, you could be Zac Efron or Louie Anderson or 68 or 268 lbs they rarely discriminate:rolleyes:.
