Best place for escorts to stay in Vegas: on- or off-strip?

Vegas is a small town. On-strip...off-strip....is only a matter of

3-4 blocks at best. I’d also bet that most men in Vegas are visiting

and would rather host than travel....but I’ll leave that to the experts

who get hired in Vegas to answer.

If you are looking to save some money definately stay off the strip. Everything there is much more expensive. There are a lot of casino and non casino hotels within a few blocks. Everything is big (buildings ) that distances are deceptive. From Mandalay Bay to the Stratosphere is 4 miles. Unless you are literally traveling by elevator you are going to need a ride so it really does not matter. Most of the strip hotels are now charging for parking , about $25 a night, and watch the resort fees at all hotels, can be as much as $35 a night or more. Even the comped rooms are getting charged the resort fees!

Pet peeve. Seems like the airlines went thru this years ago and the Federal Government finally stepped in about hidden fees. It's time to do the same with hotel fees.

Australian consumer law would prohibit that. If you don't quote the fee as part of the cost, you can't charge it. It would be interesting if someone booked on line with an Australian reseller whether the charge would stand up.

I havent been to Vegas in 12 years. So info may be out of date.

 

When last there, strip hotels started having security check room keys for access to elevators at midnight. All elevator users ( not just restricted access "premium" floors). A guard stood at elevator lobby.

 

If they still do that.... or if they've upgraded systems to require keys for all elevator access (some CA casinos do this.... most SF office buildings) ... that could hamper access if the plan is for in-calls.

I get charged the resort fee when comp'd at Tahoe. Had reservations - cancelled- at Caesars, Vegas last month. Comp'd, but resort fees still showed on reservation confirmation. Resort fees, 3-nights = $117... $133 with tax.

 

I'd heard Vegas properties no longer provide free VALET parking. Are they really charging for self-parking?

Any big hotel that doesn't require showing/using a card to go up in the elevator.

 

I haven't been in Vegas in years. Yinz tell me if those hotels still exist.

Maybe it's just me, but I see a notice about the resort fees when I'm going to book any hotel in Vegas. No, it's not on a large banner that flashes and screams at you. But, it's there. Also, resort fees are nothing new - they've been charging them for at least a decade.

I would recommend the Fortune Hotel, extremely close to the strip. It was renovated on "Hotel Impossible" some years back. There is no gambling there last I knew, which contributes to the reasonable rates.

most LV clients are probably visitors, so a downtown or Strip location would be best......a huge hotel so you (and the client) can get lost in the hordes would be good....be ready to meet your client in the lobby/casino because of elevator security and that client needs to be comfortable walking right with a provider out in the open to that elevator......

I've hired twice at the Stratosphere. One time I went down at met the provider, the second time he (a different guy) came up to my room.

Third hire in Vegas was at a humble Red Roof Inn (on Flamingo I think??), which had outdoor room entries so he came and knock-knock-knocked.

No problems, no security in any of those cases.

HOWEVER, that was a number of years ago. Maybe things have changed, which is why I kinda freak a bit from the Vegas law enforcement risks outlined in another thread.

So I'm curious about the security question, too. Nothing beats Vegas as a place for some MUSCLE to garnish a fun trip.

Most strip casinos have access from the off-strip side of the casino. So no it shouldn't deter clients.

Absolutely Hard Rock Hotel on the "Fruit Loop".

 

4 1/2 star with super low rates, 8 swimming pools and huge Rehab party (for the bi guys). Plenty of free parking in the Paradise Garage, best rooms for the buck on high floors of Paradise Tower overlooking the pools. Clients can park free in the garage and you can meet in the elevator lobby there. There's a gay "resort" across the street and two blocks walk down is Piranha gay strip club---the biggest gay bar by far. The Grove legal pot store is across from it also. A few clients/pornstars/escorts pop in Piranaha which stays open until 7am.

 

Otherwise just off the Strip the by the Wheel, Westin has low government rates every day and never asked for ID. The Tuscan Suites across from it has fantastic rates during the week and plenty of free parking close to the suites.

 

The "big" hotels aren't...they're gigantic. Some 5000 rooms. Hard to park at and expensive and quite a journey across a lobby to right elevator bank. As a client I would think twice about dealing with any of the mega-hotels. The best to show you're hip and have arrived is the Cosmopolitan but ditto above hassles.

Good nfo thanks. I've always had that "gigantic" problem with on-strip hotels. Such a hike from garage to to room, often tiring for me -- and I'm young!

I've stayed there a couple of times and really liked the rooms (particularly the shower!), plus since it doesn't have a casino it's much more low-key than the usual strip hotel. Parking is in a garage right downstairs with no fee, so everything is really easy to come and go. It's connected to the Palms hotel and casino so you can venture over that way if you want some adventure. I can't recall if the elevator is card-keyed but the lobby is sufficiently low key that you could meet someone there without any problem. There is a resort fee, but just figure that into the total.

I'm a fan of the Palms Place condo hotel (http://www.palms.com/palms-place.html). I've stayed there a couple of times and really liked the rooms (particularly the shower!), plus since it doesn't have a casino it's much more low-key than the usual strip hotel. The elevator does not require keys. I love their 1 Bedroom suites... really beautiful!

Be warned, it's really $198, which is much different. The resort fees are required per night, which doubles the price of the rooms, and that doesn't include lots of extra taxes and charges. I'm only knocking marketing, not the hotel. I've stayed there not that long ago and it's extremely nice, although for me it was the first place that required a functioning hotel key to operate the elevator from any floor.

 

You're not going to avoid the resort fee at any LV major hotel. You always add that $35 per night to any hotel rate. At the Hard Rock you do avoid a parking fee and can use self-park which is very rare for the majors.

 

$67 per night at a 4.5* resort hotel is still exceptional. Unfortunately the weekend rates, like everywhere in LV, are way higher by far.
