This has been attempted MANY times here without success, but its a New Year with new motivations, so let's try it again.

 

How's about a little meet-up of NY members ? Nothing formal or organized, just a bunch of guys who have agreed to meet somewhere, perhaps Midtown or Village NYC for early dinner or Drinky-poos ?

 

Of course it would be honor system, but hopefully if you commit, you will show up... And of course members from all neighboring states ARE welcome should they be in NY at the time...

 

No nekkid working boys (although escorts ARE welcome too), no devilled eggs, no grand itinerary, just a nice little, Friendly Fri or Sat night out.... Sunday brunch could work too for those that might prefer spending triple on their eggs.....

 

IF this is something you might consider, just reply and we'll see where it goes. Not looking for suggestions of restaurants, times, or anything else at this time. Just your willingness for such an event to occur. Only when all the suggestions and opinions start rolling in does it get complicated and fall apart....

 

Thanks for listening, and hope wE can make this happen in 2018....

OMG!! A Saturday night back at The Monster! I would be tempted to take the train from DC.

 

Well a Venue like that might negate the purpose of the meet-up: to talk and get to know each other. Who would care if there are go-go boys all around ? NOT ME ! :p

 

But certainly attendees could go there after din-din ....

my only opinion is to decide on a place, date, and time yourself and announce it as gospel......don't solicit ideas!!......you probably already know this!.....

 

was at the recent DC forum weekend and it was fantastic.....well-run, uncomplicated, easy......

The DC and PS events are more of an Extravaganza.... I am just proposing a simple "dinner amongst friends" with very Little preparation...... I promise I wont have any devilled eggs in my Purse !

Keep the discussion in the public domain (as Nate and ArVaGuy did) rather than going private. People will decide in the last week or even at the last minute to attend even if they hadn't thought they could (or hadn't indicated they were interested). (There's an implication but not a statement in this post.)

Not sure what you mean Mike, but this isnt meant to be complicated with alot of "cooks in the kitchen"... Nor is it meant to be subversive, and there is no reason for pvt messaging. If it is something of "interest", say so...

Understood, I didn't expect it, but was suggesting that planning and details should not retreat into emails between those who say they will attend. I wasn't saying I expected that to happen.

I'm not Pearl Mesta or Emily Post, so there wont be alot of planning and details. If I feel there is enough interest, I will announce a date and venue, then you either show up or you dont. The worst that can happen is that i'll be dining alone, NOT an uncommon situation. :p

That was the original idea behind the PS event, just a few regular posters getting together for a meal and a chance to get to know one another; nine people showed up.

Well now its a destination event and people plan their vacations around it..... I doubt anyone will travel cross country to have dinner "with ME" ? :D:p:D
