Shouldn't be necessary to use social media in communication with providers or forum members. I have no social media presence on the 'net and get along fine, except for missing pictures of friends' vacations, I guess.

To AZDR's comments, clearly we don't need social media, so we can live without it if we chose, but that's a different question to whether, if we have social media accounts, we should contact forum members via that route.

 

To the broader question, it's a valid cause for concern, if you have extensive contacts either business or family on the particular platform you may not want to interact with fellow forum members, or indeed with escorts who are not members of the forum. That said, I do have contact with a number of escorts on one social media platform (I was going to abbreviate that to SM platform, but the potential for misunderstanding...), and a very small number of other forum members. In all cases [of which I'm aware] they are 'in character', and some of those I follow, follow me back. For the most part I simply read what they post, but I occasionally comment on their posts, and with a few I have had pleasant two-way discussions.

How different are the escort specific threads from yelp? Certainly, the Lounge posts about life in general, or the politics section comments, dont differ much from what can be found on Facebook.

A few of my regular favorite escorts have become friends on Facebook. In fact, I originally set up both a twitter account and a Facebook page specifically to follow one very popular and excellent escort. Not to stalk in any way, mind you, (he knows I follow him and he's fine with it!) but to keep up with their life between the times I have the privilege of hiring them and hanging with them.

 

There are a few escorts on Facebook whose (real) name pops up in "people you may know" now and then and I recognize their face but with them, since I am discreet and their private life is not my business, I don't pursue it or submit a friend request. Still, a couple of my retired favorite guys' personal information has given me the means to see what they are up to now and how their lives are going.

 

Another of my favorite escorts, who has become a very good friend over the years, sent me a text with his Facebook URL and asked me to send him a friend request. Many times it's easier to use Facebook Messenger with him and others, especially if I have more to say than is comfortable when texting by phone!

 

I am not a great presence on social media. I hardly ever tweet, though I do enjoy sharing good humor and interesting music on my Facebook page!

This place is more than enough social media for me. I wouldn't want to spend any more time online than I do here.
