I'm finding that my face is looking thin at this age. A goatee seems to be helping me look less "wasted". Anybody else?

 

And does the extra hair make rimming uncomfortable for someone you rim?

Facial hair is fine for rimming, but on behalf of those of us who don’t have asbestos butt holes, I would advise against specifically using your facial hair in this area (e.g. rubbing it).

While I have not been challenged with a thin face, a colleague of mine grew a goatee about 20 years ago, well before facial hair was common in mid- and upper-level management in corporate America. He always had a slight jaw line, and the goatee filled his look out. Just this year, he has allowed it to become a closely cropped, full beard; his wife tells me she think he looks better than ever in their 30-year marriage.
