I recognized Costanera Center the moment I saw the picture, I was shocked when I saw with my own eyes the similarities between Santiago de Chile, Seattle and Vancouver.

I last visited Chile in 1991, right after the Capitán-General relinquished power. Drove to Puerto Montt, the gateway to Patagonia. I was struck at how much it looked like the PNW down south. Pristine cities, like Valdivia, full of dairy farms and Germanic architecture. I’d love to return.

The scenic backdrop to all three cities would do that, irrespective of the cityscapes.

yes the Andes and other mountain ranges look similar, but Santiago unlike Seattle and Vancouver is not on the coast.
