I would force them to make him a citizen at the same time (if he was not already). Of course, that outfit would have to fit into the day at some time.

The ordeal was getting the green card. Citizenship was easy. I applied on January, had my interview 2 weeks ago, and yesterday I got my appointment for the final oath. In order to be able to apply, you need 5 years of permanent residency (green card).

Well, maybe you should include in the count the 7 years it took me to get my green card, even when I paid for the "fast track".

Around how long did the entire process take? I know a few people who are green card holders and I'm always urging them to apply for citizenship so that they can have full rights like voting, etc. Maybe if I tell them it doesn't take too long, they'll be more inclined to start listening to my advice...
